Those American commercials are genuinely adorable. Which is funny, because the SNES era was the peak of Nintendo's edgy advertising stateside, especially with Sega at their throats.
The only slightly misleading aspect of those commercials is that those last few animations would be impossible to create without recording to a vcr. The way they made the background and moving parts evolve was not possible to do in MP alone without erasing the one youve already done. You would have to record one scene at a time to vhs, make the next scene, and with very exact timing, record that right after. Whoever animated these commercials really knew how to utilize all the tools just right to keep things visually moving and make it seem like full-fledge animation was possible lol. Kudos to them
@@cian.o I remember Mario was on a ladder painting my house to look like his hat. But instead of looking like cartoon or video game Mario, he looked like a guy in a puffy mascot suit. For some reason, this scared me lol.

happy 30th anniversary mario paint!!! :3 think those u.s commercials were cute & have fond memories seeing the jp cm's when looking at nintendo commercials.
This was actually one of the more enjoyable Mario edutainment games! You could learn how to draw, make simple animations and even make music. Of course all those disciplines still required a lot more hands on experience elsewhere. But for a basic start to opening up your inner creativity in a variety of mediums back then MarioPaint was excellent!
A campanha de marketing desse jogo é fantástica. Fazer curtas animados para mostrar o que você pode fazer dentro do jogo é uma ótima ideia. Apesar disso, eu adoro esses comerciais japoneses. Especialmente o do Yoshi. Nunca tinha visto este em uma qualidade tão alta antes. Parabéns!
Summit your Christmas theme drawing and the winner drawing will be shown all in Canada to watch during some dvd show or whatever they said. (Says for Canada but has it for 🇺🇸)
What's crazy is Nintendo charging a lot more in Japan than in the States for the same product, perhaps the last remnants of the boom times before the lost decade began to take hold?

Mario paint was created because parents wanted non-violent games this is why the comercials are normal
That first Japanese commercial is one of my favorite video game advertisements ever

I love how for the first half of the US commercial you would have no way of knowing it’s remotely related to Mario or a game for the SNES.
So glad to see a clean version of the JPN commercial uploaded! Much appreciated for your work in compiling these.

Things this video taught me:
1. Bob-ombs have knees.
2. Bob-ombs can play horns, despite lacking mouths.
And to think one of these commercials was enough to give me a "nightmare" as a kid!
What happened in it.
