Hi thank you so much! I will work on making more videos about alpacas. Males and females cannot be kept together because they will breed and the male will harass the female. Unlike other animals, alpacas do not have a heat cycle. They will actually ovulate in the presence of a male. If kept with a male they will ovulate immediately and become pregnant. Once they are pregnant the male will continue to try to breed with them and this can cause a miscarriage.
I have a llama named Banjo and 2 alpacas named puff and fluff. Two pig hunting dogs ran across the property and tried too kill puff. But Banjo killed the smaller and faster one and broke the bigger dogs leg. :)

Wow! You have so many pets. I want to be a vet (when I get older, I'm in 8th grade) because I love animals so much its kind of ridiculous. But I also want to take over my mom's family business that had been running for 115 years. Any advice? You can't really kill 2 birds with one stone here.
+tal miz they can make good therapy animals if they have a lot of training and the personality for it since they need to be able to have lots of people petting them. They are more difficult to have as therapy animals because they need a trailer to be transported and since they are large they might have difficulty going into some hospital rooms. But I have seen a few of them online going into hospitals and nursing homes and of course the patients seem to really like it because it's something different. Do you volunteer with Therapy animals?
Yes they feel very good to have all the hair taken off. When was the last time you had your teeth cut down? If they had teeth like us humans, they wouldn't be getting shaved down.
I have two questions, Am i able to take my bearded dragon to pets mart to get a hide for her? and secondly, ive tried every trick in the book and my bearded dragon rarely takes even one bite of her salad, ive only been able to get her to eat a bit of greens by waiting when she is in her basking spot for her to open her mouth when basking and i just put a leaf in her mouth and she will either eat it or spit it out, second is to trick her into thinking im holding a cricket but its instead a leaf but if she directly sees the leaf she doesnt want it AT ALL, Please help me ;~;
Yes it should be safe for you to take her to petsmart. how old is? some bearded dragons don't get into eating greens till they are 6 months. As long as she is eating lots of bugs with calcium once a week she will be fine
I am gonna be honest... I saw a video where some people had *one* alpaca in *there house* ...and I wanted to see if that was actually possible but from the videos that I have seen that-that is not the case :\ kinda sad that you can't really have a pet alpaca in ur house 😳 oh well
Yeah I've seen those videos, and it's usually a baby or one under 2 years. It's not a good situation and what they dont show is what happens afterwards. Around 3 years or so, those animals will suddenly turn very aggressive because they were raised too closely to humans. :(
+Karen Maxwell Eddy well they didn't exist until humans made them. It's like asking how Chihuahuas were able to hunt to survive, they never existed in the wild.
+Karen Maxwell Eddy and with horses you still need to float teeth, trim hooves, all that would be done in the wild naturally but in captivity they aren't exposed to the elements that would make this happen naturally. Hope that helps explain it.
I just wanna say that spraying alpacas with a hose with a low power is completely okay. I've diligently worked with close to 100 alpacas over the past 3 years and can say that most LOVE sprinklers and kiddy pools. It is correct, however, that you shouldn't spray them to hard, not only for the fleece's protection, but also for the animal because it can cause skin irritation.

They'll need an acre or more and require the things said in this video. Keep in mind, alpacas aren't necessarily cheap and if you live in a loud area they may get extremely stressed.
We have had our two alpaca girls since last spring. I think the previous owners said that they were around 5-7 years old. One of them had a baby boy last september. My question is why are they so afraid of us? They won't let you pet them! Maybe they weren't treated nice from the previous owners? I see videos of friendly alpacas and wonder why ours won't let you get close to them! So sad!
