  • Behind the scenes of an old duracell commercial that involves female masks. Found it in my old archives. Sorry for the poor quality.

    Filmed at Camelot Golfland, Anaheim California. I was one of the lead supervisors on duty at the time.

      When I was a child, veiwing these commercials really blew my mind. Thank you for helping develop and inspire my sense of creativity.

      It feels like forbidden knowledge to know that real people came together to make a short 15 second commercial for a battery, and that it didn't just magically appear one day.

    They should do more movies/shows with this style. I would watch! I love that it looks like a live cartoon

    I’m surprised how easily the actors are able to express emotion in that makeup. From the look of it, you’d think their faces were frozen in place, but they can actually move their faces more than most celebrities that have undergone plastic surgery.

    I think the living doll look of the outfits and makeup is so impressive. The look is seamless. And the actors emote perfectly in line with what the mask works with.

    This reminds me of the Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver music video by Primus. The only difference is that Primus wore thicker plastic/leather suits.

    Wow, all these years I actually thought these commercials were just really good CGI for the time. That's a hell of a lot of work for just a bunch of silly 30 second commercials! This totally reminds me of the behind the scenes for that Primus music video too.

    Everybody thinks the puttermans are creepy. I saw primus and saw the minty fackin talent of getting the actors to look like plastic toys.

    I’m looking for further credits on all the other non main characters. The family is on IMDb, but Trish’s boyfriends aren’t, the hair salon ladies aren’t, and a few others like the art gallery guide aren’t. I’m curious if they. Based the makeup looks on those actors. I know the daddy they did. The actor actually looks like the makeup.

    3:00 um yeah they do...Max Headroom and that was in the 80s. Sculpted hair, clothes, etc....jeez this guy sounds annoying and full of himself.
