Hi Lucy, I'm a Brit teaching English in Poland and almost all my students below C1 level reply 'Me too!' to both positive and negative statements. I always correct this when it is in response to a negative statement and in addition to 'Neither do I' I also suggest that they can use 'Nor do I'. You don't mention 'Nor' at all in this lesson so I would be very interested in your take on this. Thanks in advance.
Yes, about the 'nor'. I understand the rule that 'nor' is used after 'neither' in two negative clauses, where 'nor' is used as a conjunction. But I can't see why 'nor' can't be used on its own. 'Neither' is not a word that appeals to me. Have I've been making a gaffe all these years? Robert, uk
I would be happy if could speak like a native, honestly the connecting speech was pretty complicated for me anyway I should be a deep learner ,thanks you so much
What a lovely teacher god bless you darling I love to hear your voice ❤❤ by the way I have started to learn English a year ago but I am so confused 😕 like grammar 😢
6:43 Dear Lucy, I have a question regarding this one. Actually, it is quite surprising for me. Because, from the grammatical point of view, I'd rather say that the sentence "Their children almost never eat vegetables" is a positive statement - we don't have any "not" here, do we? So I thought that we should answer with "So do ours" rather than "Neither do ours". Could you please elaborate a little bit more on this?
Yes many people drop the 'h' in 'so 'ave I', but surely it is considered to be poor English? A general slippin' of standards perhaps, as Pretty Patel might say? 🧐

Hello :) My response to your sentence: Me too. 🙂I have a question: Instead of "Neither do I" can we say, "Nor do I"? Thanks
I can think of an example when "Nor do I." could be used. Example: "I don't know her." "Nor do I."
Good luck....

The word’never’has a negative sense, so neither is used.
I don't know English as well as Lucy does.
Neither do I:))

At a soviet school, we were learned to use the "So I do" form. Is that correct?
I need mooooreee long video about this subject.. it's too short :"))))
What if I answer "I don't like it either" instead of "I don't either"? Would that be correct?
Hiii dear.❤

They don't drop H. They say off instead of have.
@@idtdsn9799 Watch the video again. She clearly says at 2.59 that "many people drop the H". It's also displayed on the screen.
