I love watching Peter Falk even now in reruns . There are a few stations still running the show but I liked him best in a Christmas movie on Hallmark he played a angel I think he was in two different movies for Hallmark and they were great if you can't tell I am a Peter Falk fan
0:53 Some people say that Columbo's first name is Frank as the name Frank Columbo can be clearly seen on his LAPD ID card in a few episodes - so the narrator referring to Peter Falk as 'Frank' here is not so crazy! 😁 Great video!!
He was married to his second wife over 30 years...... of course she would make the decisions.... if there's been a lengthy alienation I wonder why...... I've been a step mother twice, my current marriage is over 25 years .... I am still very close to my first marriage 3 stepdaughters even though their father and I divorced, and have 2 adult now, step children I dearly love. Sounds tragic to me... someone had to be right or alienate. Who was that? How is it all that love they showed when they realized time was running out, wasn't available when a loving family might have been formed with counseling, with caring, ... I've seen this in my extended family and no one, no one, not one of them won anything by their behavior....
I am glad his 2 daughters fought to see their Dad. I don’t think anyone should have the right to prohibit anyone from seeing their parents in their last days!! I thought Shere is a good actress but she does seems like a very controlling person so it may be just the girls didn’t get along with their “step mom” but she should have let the girls see him. I love Columbo and watch him almost daily!! RIP Peter! You are a fantastic detective!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Doesn't. Sound ĺike a kind 2nd wife. She , i do not believe, had his interest in mind when she tried keeping her father and his daughter apart. I loved Peter Falk. He was in many movies not mentioned. Several comedies. I loved his acting. His voice and his charisma. I still watch shows and movies today. I have several DVDs with hi. In and i think i watched every one of the Columbo s several times and enjoy them as much as i did when i first saw them. Again you gave me back wonderful memories 😊
Catherine Falk could not get to see her father anymore because of Falk's 2nd wife. So Catherine's lawyer told her to go to court and sue to become the care taker and the Judge would give her visitation rights to see him.
I think the daughter should have been delegated as the care taker. The step mother was wrong to control the narrative. Just do a google and you will find some of her outlandish antics in public. She was volatile and obnoxious.
@@shopperm4689 Later sworn statements from the Falk family, family friends and associates report Catherine has been long-estranged from her father and would not handle his affairs in his best interest.
I love watching Peter Falk as Lt. Columbo. Also, movies like Mad... world and the cheap detective. He also wrote a book out lining his life. If u didn't know he had a glass eye from losing his real one from a tumor. One more thing sir he'll be missed.
I did not know that his second wife tried to keep the children away from their father. This is a situation that is also prevalent in many homes today , especially when either remarry.
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. Wihch episode of Columbo is the most memorable for you?
I also must say, I do my best NOT to judge! But, his second wife has that face, I'm getting it ALL!😅 And, most of their pics together shows him in love, but her body language looks like being tolerant to get clout and cash!😁
Met him back in the early 80's. He came into a restaurant I was working in across from the Plaza. He seemed to be just like his Columbo character right down to the trench coat.
Why would his daughter have to sue him for university tuition and expenses when he was a successful actor? One of my favourite Peter Falk movies is “ Roommates.”
An amazing talented actor and he was brilliant as the detective in that raincoat always saying one more thing. Peter Folk will be forever remembered as Columbo and even though the series is often seen in repeats it is just one thing we may have missed or something in the shot or a word said. He had a lot of input in these episodes as a director and maybe a writer. We saw that his daughter Catherine is an actress I wonder did she ever worked on Columbo with her late father. Columbo the origin would wonder if there are any plans for a short series about a younger Columbo as it would be fascinating to see an early take on this detective crime-solving skills.
I’m watching Columbo episode as I’m writing writing this comment. I feel it’s sad that his daughter had to fight so hard to see her father being so close to death!! I believe that Shera Denise had something to do with that interference!! Seems Money Driven. Should have nothing to do with past tensions between Peter and either of his Daughters. He gave a huge part of his life to entertaining the public. 🙏🏻👼😎😎👼🙏🏻
I remember Shera Danese in a couple of the Columbo episodes. The fact that she did not allow Peter's daughters to see their father is evil and malicious. That shows she didn't love him, she married him for money only.
Definitely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
I just love to see all the 1960’s-70’s actors in their prime. Hum, it’s hard to pick. I loved Dead Weight with Susan Plashette , A Stitch in Crime with Mr.Spock, Swan Song with Johnny Cash, Negative Reaction with Dick Van Dyke, Fade In To Murder with Captain Kirk, Try And Catch Me with Ruth Gordon, Grand Deceptions with Robert Foxworth, Short Fuse with Roddy McDowell,( Columbo goes up the Palm Springs tram), Murder By The Book with Jack Cassidy, ( Columbo goes up to Big Bear in the mountains) and the one with Linsey Krouse as the murderer.
I watched this video because I always enjoyed Columbo but I did not know of the issue between his second wife and his children. I’m so glad the girls were able to see him before his death. My children were treated the same way by their father’s newest wife. Unfortunately, they never had the privilege to visit their dying Dad who also had dementia and cancer. She kept the children away with physical gates and even armed guards. It was very, very sad. He loved his kids and they loved him.
So Shera Danese wasn't the most wonderful person. However, every time she appeared in one of the Columbo movies, she added immeasurably to it. Her acting was full of character and she really brought something special to the roles she played, and to the movie. I am surprised she wasn't more famous in her own right. She had what you call "presence", and she had that quality in spades.
I have most of his movies, git to love his style. I have a friend who was a former police inspector in Alberta in the 1970s. In the 1970s the police force in Alberta used to tell police officers who were unkept and sloppy to, "Go home, you dress like Columbo."
The step mother should have never prevented prevented the two adults daughter not to see have access to their father. I think it was very cruel and mean and controlling. Going to court over for it in itself is so stressful and annoying on top of the time lost. Round of applauses for the daughters.
Money always brings out the worst in people. Mr. Falk WAS Lt. Columbo, and Lt. Columbo WAS Mr.Falk. He made that character. I once sat next to him on an airplane in business class back around 1999.
It’s a shame that during illness people will argue over such trivial matters. It’s every child’s right to be able to see a parent before they pass away. I don’t particularly like my misses’ son from her previous marriage but I would never think of stopping him visit her. 👍
Every time I see Columbo all I think about is that Peter Falk had at one point been managment consultant. Can you imagine Columbo showing up ( with that amazing voice) and giving his report and saying 'Your product is over priced crap, Mrs. Columbo wouldn't give it house room, your CEO is a bum..and just one more thing..the toilet paperin the mens room is too thin'
@@FactsVerse My one negative comment is that there were contradictions in this, for example it said at one point he had a close relationship with his daughters but then later said they were estranged..how? Lot of ppl it would be fun to see. How about some off the beaten track ppl, like scientists like Richard Feynman and the like, or ppl who made history but are unknown ( like the real story of johnny Appleseed).
Love Peter Falk, but he was a philanderer all his life. He cheated on 1st and 2nd wives relentlessly. He had a long term affair with avant garde Suzanne widl for 20 years. Shera cheated with him knowing he was married, so what do you expect when you're the mistress? All in all, he was a great actor, nice personality, but not a good husband. Unless you think it's fine to sleep with every woman on every set you can get. That's the truth, plain and simple. But, I never understood the vitriol Danese had for the kids. Only thing that comes to mind is they probably hated her for taking their father from their mother.
I knew them both. First wife Alyce was a smart sophisticated lovely woman. We didn't agree on politics and had many lively debates but I really liked her. Shera on the other hand was a low class opportunist.
One of my favorite Columbo episodes was the one with Johnny Cash, who played a famous country singer named Tommie Brown. Those hypocritical gospel bitches almost deserved what they got, but, murder is murder, and he had to pay for it. I loved it when Tommie told Columbo, when finally caught, that he would have eventually confessed, anyway, because it was really getting to him. Then their classic gospel song was playing loudly on the car radio.
Peter Falk, One of the best Actors That ever Lived. its terrible how his daughters have been treated. i wish they could find his 2 old Peugeot 403's cars from Columbo, one disappeared and the other Ended up in Mexico, it would be great if they could track it down and get it back. i would love to own it, best because i know Peter Falk Drove it.
Yep I knew all about it. Never had much respect for Shera Danese as an "actress" ~ In addition, what kind of person wants to keep a dying father from his children?? No class. Peter Falk was blinded by the face and body of his second wife. Personally, I thought his first wife (Alyce Mayo) had it totally over Shera Danese as far as looks and class. I enjoy watching reruns of Columbo. R.I.P. Peter!
Family disputes get ugly and often Ridiculous. ""Mom wanted ME to have her diamond ring, not You!!!" Laws should be prohibitive and instructive with rules of civilized behavior, NOT just as a hammer for after an event. Society should spell out legal rights for all members of a family. Rights that any member can claim or abrogate. If a family member is a rat, a family member should seek for a family court to terminate those rights. IOW, how courts should work. All legal relationships should be legally protected. There should be no common law at all because only one Law is required. Faulk's legal papers should include his written medical and estate directives. The current wife rules unless Faulk made other or previous arrangements. If the current wife is rotten then challenge her ability to carry out Faulk's wishes. If his kids or ex-lovers challenge him and are found to be harassing, woe to them to commit fraud. Perhaps Faulk's alter-ego would be useful in solving the true motivations behind the participants besides true love. A person and/or their estate is not an infinite pie from which to steal an extra slice.
That's just SAD, why would ANYONE, fight over MONEY, IT'S A DIRTY PIECE OF PAPER. THAT'S JUST AWFUL, THEY SHOULD BE ASHMED OF THEMSELVES, WIFE, & DAUGHTERS!!!!! NO MORE FIGHTING!!! DIVIDE THAT MONEY INTO 3 EQUAL SHARES EVERYONE GETS A ( TH I RD) EQUALLY
If money wasn't involved. His second wife probably wouldn't have interfered with his estranged children wanting to visit him. And probably his estranged kids wouldn't have visited him.
When a person becomes mentally or physically ill, And the partner keeps Buzzing in their ear Eventually they give up fighting Because they Just Want PEACE!! -My dad told me at the end of his life I'm sorry I replued Let me guess Every time i visited then Left ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE he looked down Nodded And had tears in his eyes
She was his legal 2nd wife. Wonder where his daughters were before he got down with mental and physical health issues. I wonder what was truly going on! This is simular to a divorce. There is Her story then His story then there is the truth!😂

Bette Davis, Hope Lang, Ann Margret are some of the other greats in this very good movie. It’s occasionally played on TV at Christmas, back in the 80’s & 90’s every year as a Christmas staple. A personal favourite❤.
...I love Peter Falks Columbo and all the movies he stared in. 😊

One of my fav actors of all time. Thank you for a great video...... When a lot of actors now are plastic, Columbo will always be FANTASTIC.
Glad to know that you're a fan of Peter. In your opinion, what is his finest role?

Interesting/informative/entertaining. What made the Colombo (TV) series a smash hit-!!!🤗. The dynamic guest stars whom enhanced his character performances-!!!😉. Wishing viewers a safe/healthy/Prosperous (2024)🌈🎉💵😉.
I've heard so many different versions about this family feud that it's difficult to separate fact from fiction.
I still see him in the rerun
He was good …grate..
RIP ….. and one more thing…
God bless Katherine and Jackie,
More people should take care of their aging parents and have the right to visit them before their parents pass on❤
Catherine fought for visitation. Jackie did not help at all. I know them both.
Loved himwatch him every Sunday no all the words to every Episode over and over again great Actor a Natural .
Catherine Falk could not get to see her father anymore because of Falk's 2nd wife.
So Catherine's lawyer told her to go to court and sue to become the care taker and the Judge would give her visitation rights to see him.
What an awful thing to do, isolating him from his daughters. That’s just plain evil, glad the daughters persisted.
MY OPINION..."HE IS THE BEST DETECTIVE"👍.. BETTER THAN "MONK"‼️
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. Wihch episode of Columbo is the most memorable for you?
Monk is nowhere near columbo
I also must say, I do my best NOT to judge! But, his second wife has that face, I'm getting it ALL!😅
And, most of their pics together shows him in love, but her body language looks like being tolerant to get clout and cash!😁
Met him back in the early 80's. He came into a restaurant I was working in across from the Plaza. He seemed to be just like his Columbo character right down to the trench coat.
Very interesting, thanks for sharing! Which episode of Columbo appealed to you the most?
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
Family, second wife should not ever denied husband children. All bout control. Pure evil.
Definitely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
Love Columbo , admiration for thus talented man❤😢
I still watch Columbo on Cozytv
Columbo is also on Peacock. ( with commercials.)
Us too! Which episode is your favorite?
Oops, that’s Linsey Crouse in Sex and the Married Detective. Let’s face it, they are all Great!!!
❤❤❤Very good Girls. The daughters of Peter Falk. This second wife, was a nightmare! !!! He didn’t deserve that and also not his children.

I want to go to his grave site and thank him for his work. I would have liked to meet him.Great actor
Fancy stopping his daughters seeing him,!
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
@@FactsVerse I’m sorry to say that it’s been too long ago to remember one in particular.
Nope, didn't know this! Used to watch Columbo all the time. ❤❤👍
Glad to know that you discovered something new about Peter. Which episode of Columbo appealed to you the most?
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
Money always brings out the worst in people. Mr. Falk WAS Lt. Columbo, and Lt. Columbo WAS Mr.Falk. He made that character. I once sat next to him on an airplane in business class back around 1999.
Sad but true. May Peter find peace. What other types of video would you like to see?
Why couldn’t Colombo meet Monk?
It’s a shame that during illness people will argue over such trivial matters. It’s every child’s right to be able to see a parent before they pass away. I don’t particularly like my misses’ son from her previous marriage but I would never think of stopping him visit her. 👍
The very mean Stepmother was clearly alive & well in this situation....it’s beyond me why it had to be this way.....
He was such a great actor
Every time I see Columbo all I think about is that Peter Falk had at one point been managment consultant. Can you imagine Columbo showing up ( with that amazing voice) and giving his report and saying 'Your product is over priced crap, Mrs. Columbo wouldn't give it house room, your CEO is a bum..and just one more thing..the toilet paperin the mens room is too thin'

My one negative comment is that there were contradictions in this, for example it said at one point he had a close relationship with his daughters but then later said they were estranged..how?
Lot of ppl it would be fun to see. How about some off the beaten track ppl, like scientists like Richard Feynman and the like, or ppl who made history but are unknown ( like the real story of johnny Appleseed).
He was handsome in his own skin
I hate when people die at all.

LOVED THE SHOW,,, COLUMBO
His 2nd wife looks like a smug painted cold woman.....his 1st wife looks a real nice lady.
Both are Money hungry women who selfishly claimed him for themselves and couldn't share!
I knew all of the people mentioned quite well. The general point of this video is basically true but so much of the details are totally wrong.

BIG RESPECT TO COLOMBO🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Great as colombo
No but going to look into Catherine Falk group because my father and my sisters and i cant see or talk to him due to his 2nd wife
May I ask what was the prob with his eye? I loved him as an actor and watched all his shows?
Did this not happen to Kasey K’s daughters?????
She should be ashamed of herself
That's just SAD, why would ANYONE, fight over MONEY, IT'S A DIRTY PIECE OF PAPER. THAT'S JUST AWFUL, THEY SHOULD BE ASHMED OF THEMSELVES, WIFE, & DAUGHTERS!!!!! NO MORE FIGHTING!!! DIVIDE THAT MONEY INTO 3 EQUAL SHARES EVERYONE GETS A ( TH I RD) EQUALLY
Just leave the man alone. He made the money notthe kids and can gi e it to whoever he chose.
