A pre-pandemic viewpoint of this part of the city, before it was inundated by changes due to the unprecedented influx of drug activity, homeless encampments, out of control crime, and retail gang crime sprees. It paints a very idyllic landscape of how things were then, reflecting the city’s history with urban renewal and transit improvements. Very memorable in many respects.
A nice bit of 3 yr old nostalgia. We’re a bit upside down on the Hill right now but this was nice to look at. My apartment, The Lacrosse at 7:22 where I still live!
Agreed, we just moved back to capitol hill after being gone several years, and we're just loving it, especially after just having spent the summer in NYC.
Great music choice!!! Love...Love...Love the video. Capitol Hill is a very hip area in Seattle with a variety of parks, eateries, coffee shops and urban clothing stores.
Super informative video about Cap Hill! Remake a Cap Hill video in the summer and there will be vibrant colors in the background and tons of people out engaging in a wide variety activities.
You have some really nice videos! It’s too bad that I didn’t know about you while living, in Seattle. I’m definitely gonna have to check out some of these places.
While living at the seals motel off Aurora Avenue North. I did for 9 months. I went to Capitol hill. Was picking up a hippy from Oregon who never left UW. Went to Seattle center
How the fuck did you make this comment 4 days ago when it is covered in graffitti, businesses are extorted by thugs and a rogue authoritarian gang led by a local rapper are doing stop and frisk? Liberalism is cancer.
I'm watching this video from the year 2024 and it's sad how Capitol Hill changed, a lot of homeless crime, trash and some closed stores. I wish I lived in Seattle at that time.
You cannot go wrong with either neighborhood. Both are great urban neighborhoods for different reasons. If you are only here 3 months, Capitol Hill is more centrally located and it will be a little easier to experience the rest of the city and region from this location. What brings you to Seattle?
Dude! You were walking on Cal Anderson park, not Karl. Ball feild is Bobby Morris feild. Do your homework. All the old houses being torn down to put up corporate apartments. No longer a place for creative artists like was before. Homeless people come up from downtown. Not like it was before gentrification. Nice place to visit...
And why not be proud that your city is somewhere people want to be? Appreciate that it is not a ghost town that all of the businesses have left behind.
Hey if you're not from the actual inner city of Seattle. Then you would understand. I'm assuming you folks are from the outskirts. What gentrification is doing is driving the less fortunate out of their home they grew up in
Amazing video!
I am moving to Seattle later this year and your "Exploring Seattle" series has really vindicated my decision.
That you! There is so much to love here!!! I barely scratched the surface with these videos. There is more to come!!!
@@EnricoPozzo i cant wait
How is it going for you?
It’s been an amazing ride. Been here 4 years and still in love with the city

I've lived in Capitol Hill for 17 years and love the variety of options here. There's something for everyone here.
Glad you took this. Nice to see what it was like... just finished watching a few autonomous state vids.
Same
Awesome video, thank you for making it!

great video! I've lived on the Hill for ages, and I'm going to share this with friends from afar who want to know what it's like where I live..
Thank you Billy!
Awesome. Because I am thinking about one-day living in Seattle myself possibly.
I just moved here, Capitol Hill is pretty chill and alive at night lights lights lights clubs lounges
Excellent video! I've visited downtown Seattle several times, but never have visited the Capitol Hill area. I plan to do that in early July!

That was Beautiful
What is the name of the song in the beginning of this video? I'm in love with it!
A 3D neighborhood. Diverse, Dynamic, and Damn good.
I like that description Ben!!!
looks idyllic !

Hi. I am just starting exploring Seattle too.
I'm about to move there for college, thanks for the peek into all the hipster culture I can get myself into :D
I am quite sure you will enjoy it there Jake!
Jake Black Cool, what college are you going to?
Seattle university. As far as I can tell, its on the south side of capitol hill
Jake Black Wow congratulations! And I think so too.
My family live there back in the forties
down around the peers 46-48. used to be a unique place but it's become commercialized now.
love the video! what do you use for recording?
For this video I used a DJI Osmo+ and a Canon G7X. Thank you for the kind words!
Seattle is the safest city in the United States and also has the best quality of life
Do you think the new capitol hill changes things?
So much has changed...but Dick's remains on Broadway...😋 lived at Malden and republican in the early 70's ♥️
Can someone tell me which song is it - starts at 4.08..
For someone seeking to gain the most experience out of Seattle in 3 months, is it best to live in Ballard or Capitolol Hill?

@@EnricoPozzo thank you so much for your insight!

The Last of Us Part II brought me here.
That Ethiopian restaurant looks cool.
I miss Seattle 😭😭

Seattle would be an amazing city if there weren't any people there. The Northwest as a whole for that matter.
Mr Literal has arrived.
Let me dumb it down for you, Northwest visually is beautiful, the people are awful.
I agree. No people, no eateries, no shops, no thriving.
Pre CHAZ days
I’m a bisexual woman and I wanna visit this pretty neighborhood and surrounding areas of the city
Gentrified neighborhood. Fake people who aren’t born and raised in this amazing city. Bunch of hipsters
And why not be proud that your city is somewhere people want to be? Appreciate that it is not a ghost town that all of the businesses have left behind.

@@nigga851 Not just the less fortunate either. Making a low 6 figure salary is no guarantee of being able to afford the high cost of housing anymore.
It’s not that nice 🤣
