Maaaaannnn, I dont know how to thank you enough, I was miserable trying to find a way to render out transparency with Arnold, you are a life saver, Thanx Thanx Thanx Thaaaaannnxxx.
Tip: the best way to frame your subject within the render view is to activate the Resolution Gate under the Camera View settings (there's also a quick select icon in the row of icons above the scene window). This will create an overlay border in your scene view that shows you the edges of the rendered frame according to your image & aspect ratio sizes, and lets you frame your camera shots accurately
PNG works too. Under render settings make sure to uncheck “skip alpha”. Then drop in a skydome light, go to the light’s shape node in attribute editor and under visibility set camera to zero :)
Within the first 4 minutes. Set it up to render a tiff to get a transparent BG (no other file type will give you a transparent BG) then render sequence. I hope that helps!

You're right, I should have mentioned PNGs as well! Thanks for mentioning this!
@@BareBones3D @allinclusiveangler Is this feature in Maya 2024? I have 2023 and there's no "skip alpha" option for png, only for tif.
@@axlinataxia I’m using 2025 at the moment, I believe. I’m not sure about previous versions having this option
Im having the problem.. I only can see the images if I check the "skip alpha". What can I do?? What is the problem?
