Thanks for the excellent comprehensive review. I totally agree with you regarding the gauge cluster. IMO, those new big display clusters are dreadful, and that alone keeps me away from considering the new X5 and the 5 series sedans. Furthermore, I wish BMW had kept the classic analog instruments, at least on the high performance models.
I like the foot pedal position cause in my Mazda the dead pedal is so far away verses the the gas pedal and it I still too close my foot presses the gas to much and if I’m to far I’m constantly tryna position my left foot. It’s such
I dont think the SQ5 is matched with the X3M comp. I think a hypothetical RSQ5 would be, but that doesn't exist. Btw, X3 M40i owner here :) (2018 model)
You are correct---he was wrong. 2023 SQ5 owner here (who likes to peek over the fence) and it is matched exactly to compete with the M40i. Was considering an M40i, but I cannot stand the taillights and a couple other lesser things. M40i might be in my future---depends on the redesign.
The only thing that puts me off with this Vehicle and preventing me from buying it is the moonroof. I just can't stand when manufacturers push that as a standard option on a performance oriented vehicle. What a BS practice from BMW.
I think this is the best all around SUV ever made. Wish the X3 MC was as comfortable as the M40i. Its teeth rattling / boobie bouncing comfortable as my wife says……. I prefer the 2018-2020 gauge cluster!
Is the m suspension firm compared to the x3 30i? Is it te same in the comfort mode? How is the suspension in the x5m60i? Is it stiffer than the regular x5? Thanks.
I feel like the were about the same. Just drove a 30i this past Friday. Felt similar ride wise. Suspension on the x5 I feel is more “comfortable” and not as firm as the m40. I have not driven a regular x5. Will soon tho. I’ll have to get back to you on that
If a comfort ride is of concern, I'd recommend NOT getting the larger 20" or 21" wheels as the shorter sidwalls will stiffen up the ride. Another benefit of the standard 19" wheels (besides ride quality and $ savings ) is your ability to rotate the square wheels front to rear to extend tire life. I also removed the o.e RFT tires in favor of some Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires for better ride and winter driving capability.
The SQ5 is the best of what’s Audis got in this segment - hence the comparison. However, the X3M blows the SQ5 out of the water performance wise. The X3M has a very similar 0-60 to the Lambo Urus lmao
I mean the ride is subjective. I think it rides well, but others may think it's super stiff. Everyone has their own opinions. The best thing to do is drive one and see what you think!@@Dashcamfailz

IMO, those new big display clusters are dreadful, and that alone keeps me away from considering the new X5 and the 5 series sedans. Furthermore, I wish BMW had kept the classic analog instruments, at least on the high performance models.
nice review,love it
Love your reviews soo much ❤
Thank you. Do like the curved dash more than flat ones. Also a infoscreen more recessed into dash than sticking up. Peace bro.
1000 times better this than the big screen
X3 M40i or X3 M Comp. If you had to choose, which one would you buy?
Excellent SUV bestie.
Great video! I learned a ton from you - and you explain it all too well. You would be a fantastic salesman for BMW (no offense Julius)!
Well presented.
I purchased the 2024 subaru outback wilderness because of yor reviews 😅
Awesome - glad to hear!
Totally agree.
Hahaha. You are a youth😂😂. Yes it makes sense when you take your age into consideration. 😂❤❤
I have the same gripe about the gauge cluster and instrument panel as one big screen! Not a fan either.
I sub’d since I am also in NoVA 👍🏻
Where everyone and their uncle has a BMW 🤣
Yup🤣
How does this car do in snow?
Well, 2025 is going to be the all new, too bad the 2024 doesn't have the new interior like the other models.
The 5 and 6 is great. But this 3 is growing on me hard!!!
The 3 is great
Look at the CX 50-90 Mazda pano roof opening it tilts to open and only goes halfway not even like this 😂
Love the classic dashboard...HATE the new screens...Hate it X1000
I like the foot pedal position cause in my Mazda the dead pedal is so far away verses the the gas pedal and it I still too close my foot presses the gas to much and if I’m to far I’m constantly tryna position my left foot. It’s such
Do you prefer the pedal box of the Mazda or the BMW?
The price of these is rediculous. Just a few years ago these were 50k and a full M was in the 70's.
reka si totalno isto šta i ja mislim o tom modelu
I dont think the SQ5 is matched with the X3M comp. I think a hypothetical RSQ5 would be, but that doesn't exist. Btw, X3 M40i owner here :) (2018 model)
You are correct---he was wrong. 2023 SQ5 owner here (who likes to peek over the fence) and it is matched exactly to compete with the M40i. Was considering an M40i, but I cannot stand the taillights and a couple other lesser things. M40i might be in my future---depends on the redesign.
I had a 2020 Q5 TFSI also great car. The airsuspension from the Q5 is a big miss on the X3 but other than that very happy with it @@twarren354
I agree
Cluster…don’t like long screen… I like knobs too
The only thing that puts me off with this Vehicle and preventing me from buying it is the moonroof. I just can't stand when manufacturers push that as a standard option on a performance oriented vehicle. What a BS practice from BMW.
One day.. I will buy a 24' BMW X3 M40I SUV.
Yes you will!
One day I’ll buy a ‘22 with physical controls
@@ElijahsAbastuck in the past
Go pre 22 no hybrid bs
2021 is better IMO because of the lack of expensive battery to replace
Color?
Dark Graphite Metallic
I think this is the best all around SUV ever made. Wish the X3 MC was as comfortable as the M40i. Its teeth rattling / boobie bouncing comfortable as my wife says……. I prefer the 2018-2020 gauge cluster!
awesime welldone
Its an "M" car, its an entry level...but its an "M"
Good job!
Thank you :)
Does the 12 in infotainment center cons screen retract into the dash or turn off/black when not in use.?
You can turn the screen off, but it does not retract
2020 dash was waaaay better....nicer dials and dont like the aluminium center console, difficult to read
I assume the driver seat has memory positions?
Correct
Too bad it looks boring. X4 looks so much sportier
Would you take this over a base Macan? The Macan S a diff catagory and a lot more $$.
100%
Get the base Macan, it's next level. I have a loaded base Macan, and its been amazing. Not as quick as this, but so much better in every other way.
@@sbklvrbase just has a 2.0 4 cylinder. Totally different than the B58. Only Macan I would take is GTs.
What’s the different between M and M competition?
Price, horsepower, wheels, exhaust, exterior trim, badging, seats, M sport seatbelts, extended merino leather
@@703Speed interesting
How is the Audi SQ5 comparable to the X3M? The X3M40 has more performance than the SQ5, that seems off to me
The SQ5 is the best of what’s Audis got in this segment - hence the comparison. However, the X3M blows the SQ5 out of the water performance wise. The X3M has a very similar 0-60 to the Lambo Urus lmao
well you stated the SQ5 was more comparable to the X3M then the X3M40 which is simply not true, but yes I see what your comment says.@@703Speed
I also do not like those full wrap screens.
Guage Cluster > dual ipad look. All day
Negative on full screen prefer x3 setup
Does the info screen have a full screen nav map?
I believe it does. Not 100% on that tho
No ventilated seats?
Or power steering wheel. You get so much more with a Macan.
You need to put 95 octane in these as in Europe. American fuel is inferior unfortunately
What about the ride quality is it confortable? Is the x5 more confortable?
They’re comparable, but X5 more complaint ride. Seats in X5 M60 more comfortable too
@@703Speedgood to know, because i heard some people talking about the ride being a bit stiff compare to its competitor
@@Dashcamfailzdepends on wheels, 19 inch are more comfortable
I mean the ride is subjective. I think it rides well, but others may think it's super stiff. Everyone has their own opinions. The best thing to do is drive one and see what you think!@@Dashcamfailz
..and even more so if you replace teh RFT tires with non-RFT tires of your choice@@tbcauhome3573
Is this car comes with spire tire ????😅
I don’t believe so
Anyways, well done, young man. Very, very black.
I don't like this new big screen. The old one is much nicer.
How does this compare to the Porsche Macan S?
This is def faster, which in my opinion, is better. Porsche handles better tho. BMW sounds better
@@703Speedthat is good to know. I like both, the x3 seems a bit more civilized for daily use.
Manual steering wheel adjust?? 🧐🥴🫤
Yes
It's no Macan. Just priced similar, which is crazy.
My question’s not related to car review. I just wanna know what’s your backpack brand??? Could u pls drop yr comment.
Oakley - its legit.. Ive beat the hell out of it for over 10 years and it still looks new
Fully loaded with taxes $80K…I recently bought one!
Hell yeah.. How do you like it so far?
I have a black one with the shadow package and it’s so sinister. I really enjoy playing with other hot sporty SUVs and passing Tesla’s!
