I completely understand the feeling of ordering what is written on the menu as pad kraprao here in the US but then using the horapa instead. It sends me off the edge, especially when I'm starving--lol. Why not say pad horapa indtead?! So idiotic!

Thanks for the shout out mate. I just love how you continue to support all the small businesses, even ones with no names. All the vendors need all the help they can get🙏❤
You are incredible food explorer. Although I lived at Wuthagard road for 30 years, I don't know well as you do. By the way, I like when you speak with Local people. It is so attractive.
You are so right about the contrast of the old and the new . Just a couple of weeks ago I walked down Asok Montri rd only a few hundred metres from Asok intersection there was a old little compound of buildings that looked unchanged for 50 years with local people surrounded by massive new development but still hanging on running very small businesses and seemingly refusing to give in to the gentrification/ modernisation. I hope Bangkok never loses this sort of character.
Really enjoyed that vid Gary! Its the mix of eateries that make you the best channel.......as long as you bring back 'Mall Mondays' lol......I jest, sort of ;-)
Condos vs old Bangkok: I love both the old and the new. Gary, your Thai is good enough for the aunties to treat you like one of their own. The tom yum noodle shop is unique, definitely worth a visit. Cheers.
The mouse(rat) noodles got its name as it resembles new-born mice, affectionately known as so among Cantonese. It's a traditional hakka noodles named as mee shai moo. Mee - Rice Shai - Colander Moo - Eyes (holes) It's made by pushing rice paste through the holes of colander into boiling water, hence the name. :)
That's probably one of the most enjoyable videos you've done over there on Thonburi side that I've seen, particularly the Tom Yum place. I could smell it and taste it as it was coming together and then in the bowl. And I love the heat and humidity; much more comfortable than the cold and damp we have here in the Northeast US. Forget my MW comment from the other day. It was probably the beer talking. Your vids keep me in a happy frame of mind.
I had crab fried rice 14$ to go from the only boat noodle place (that I find authentic) in fort worth texas and I was very disappointed on the amount I got. The Vietnamese place a couple of doors down has combination fried rice for 12$ and more quantity. I would be smiling ear to ear having kapow or fried rice for the prices you got. 👍
Hey ya Paul here I met you with Jason . That Pad Kra Pao looked delicious I’ll be heading down there soon . As always we absolutely enjoy your travels in beautiful Thailand 🇹🇭
Great find Gary. Just got back from DIY lunch tour at Rattanakosin. Hiso Curry Rice, OMG the crab was amazing and had a Kia Kling and Fish dish. Then to finish off a bowel of Bamee Kua Moo Daeng with the aunties. What a beautiful family. Thanks for your hard work finding these amazing dishes. Look forward to more for our next trip.
IKR? Just like the smell of Pad Krapao. Delicious smell like no others. Gary's been working hard, so, 40k would be a "sweet & savory " reward. Go, Gary!!!
Looks great! I do have a bone to pick, however. The way it should be pronounced is "Seelanhtro". Americans started eating Mexican food, in general, before they started eating Thai food. They call it Coriander here in Poland, too.
Not only did I love the back-street/back-lane locations, I also really loved the energy in this one. It felt different from recent episodes. Glad you went back through a recent live stream. I'm really looking forward to your Phuket videos and maybe a live stream from Venice. Sorry, Old Phuket Town? Again, keep up the great work!
Always likin the vlog mate, ow and Gary, i do miss your attemps on the Five minute friday vlogs which you never made under the 5 minutes hahaha. Anyhoe back on topic, 29 bath dish krapaw 😯 and 36 with egg. Amazing steal deal, less then 1 euro for a meal. Love the oil cooked egg 😋 And i agree, no holy basil is no phad krapow mate, we miss the holy basil, all is already gone, we brought a bunch from Thailand but used it. So do miss it 😔 Thanks for sharing mate, and as always, C Ya in the next one, cheer 🙌🍻
Wow, how can they make Pad Krapow for 29 baut. Looks very tasty and delicious. I will go there and give her a 100 baut tip! How about giving us the most expense Pad Krapow served on gold plates. Great video Gary.
Bruce Wayne (i hope it's spelt after my hero John)Big up Bruce 👍Then you proceed to walk into someone's garden hoping on a handout 🤦♂This is the very reason why i watch you .No chance would i walk down there in fear of the owner and his dog running at me 🤦♂55 You lucky sod living there and meeting the lovely people day in day out ,not to mention the food 😁Honestly ,i might have said this before ,but iv'e walked past places like this not having a clue .Your Channel has opened my eyes in more ways than you think .Thank you once again 👍
😍Thailand is a foodies paradise!!😍 😋I love Pad Thai, Pad Kaprao, Som Tam, Khao Soi, Tom Yum Goong & Northern Thai food!!😋 😘Thank you for sharing😉Nice Thai food presentation.👍
Another great video Gary ... Looking forward to being back in December and through the Canadian winter ... If you're on the road again, maybe try Chanthaburi which has a killer central market and frankly great Thai food and stalls and large (and close to Trat and the sea so a lot of seafood ...) ...
Gary, can you do a video just talking about heat/spice? When I eat spicy pad kaproa the heat overtakes almost everything else. I rush to keep eating it and I feel the endorphins racing through my body. LOL. I see you add a lot of extra heat and I often wonder if it is overpowering the other favors and if everything then starts tasting the same. I think an in-depth video discussing this topic in detail would be of interest to a lot of your viewers. Thanks mate. Peace out.
Gary just had the dish in Los Angeles Thai Town yesterday and i still love it after eating for so many years.. i would give your place a try next time i am in Bangkok...L.A Rob

I like the fish one more. Fish out of tins or actual fresh fish. Give it a go, but get that cartalige beef soup first.
That pad kaprao looked amazing, the soup looked good too x
Yes, GARY, you're great. The real thing is only Thai or holy-basil(กระเพรา). Not sweet-basil(โหระพา).👏👍🤟♥♥🙏
