If only golem was hard. That would solve some of the issues with post-plantera weapons being over looked by other weapons since a lot of those weapons are after golem. This would as well make everything after Plantera and before pillars be about how good is the weapon against the pillars.
At least Post Plantera has content, Golem to Moonlord just feels like a small boss rush without any meaningful progression at all. I kinda wish there were more bosses like the mechs with multiple bosses each granting some upgrades but requiring all of them to move to the next progression stage. First mech feels meaningful, no matter which one it is and the last is also very impactful, actually feels like the best stage progression wise.
Which is why i would use weapon merge alongside large mods so i can still use the weapons that i like to use Imagine a lvl 100 copper shortsword taking on a certain brimstone witch
After i kill plantera first try, i struggle on golem for 3 hours, then straight to cultist, and now i have lunar gear. Rarely visit the dungeon inbetween
I agree that its a support weapon, but you failed to mention arguably the *most* important thing about the fork. Its fireball AoE has semi-limited wall-phasing capabilities. It is for this very reason that it remains on my hotbar until the end of the game because you can design arenas and farms centered around it. The explosion can attack enemies from 2-3 blocks- making it arguably the best weapon to speed through the first phases of the Frost + Pumpkin Moon thanks to not having any enemies that can attack through walls, the Pirate Invasion, and some parts of Post-Plantera Solar Eclipse and the Martian Invasion since you can rapidly clear the ground enemies and open up some slots for Mothron and the Martian Saucer to spawn and easily farm them. Great review but you've barely scratched the surface of what the weapon is capable of.
This is why I've begun to love journey mode because it pushes you to get every item you can in order to duplicate them. It let's you learn about plenty of items
I used the leaf blower in my most recent mage playthrough, it held up pretty well. It's essentially a baby razorpine. Believe it or not, the two actually have almost identical statistics on paper, but the razorpine just shoots more projectiles at once, hence its way higher DPS output.
My for the worthy world which had significant progress in it before I lost it was named 15000 inferno forks because our last master mode world wouldn't stop giving us them when we farmed dungeon enemies.
Could you check the rainbow gun out again? It got a buff in 1.4.4 making it better as a side weapon, being that the rainbow last twice as long and it allows other projectiles to hit the enemy at the same time.
You mentioned the Keybrand for a brief moment and I just want to say that it would make for a much better early game weapon than a late game one which is why I love that you can get it pre-hardmode in Get Fixed Boi where I actually use it. Ofc the damage is nerfed but it still has the same effect and ability. I would love to see a video on it!
To me, the Inferno Fork is placed as a third weapon, meant specifically for crowd control and the fact that they've boosted this already beautiful weapon some more makes me question if trying for a Mage playthrough with NOTHING but crowd control weapons might be viable! It sure may sound fun, especially with using the various magical items that you get throughout the game, like the Magnet Sphere, Shadowbeam staff and the many others, for an elemental bonanza of disastrous cataclysm! I still think that the Inferno Fork is a suitable anti-invasion weapon, meant to thin down herds. As always, your videos are an absolute joy to behold, Sock! Will you be doing the Boulder Staff next? I'd like to hear your take on it, too.
I wanted to get one but instead I've got: 2 paladin shields, paladin hammer, sniper scope, two others staff's, 3-5 magnet sphere's, 4 tabi, black belt and a tactical shotgun
i'm glad you're improving your content now you're finally showing the weaknesses of weapons! it might sound like you needed to do that a while ago but i wouldn't say it's much of a problem because you just wanted to show how strong some weapons are but showing weaknesses is important now that people wouldn't just watch and go good job on having perfect editing and insane previews though
I love this weapon, IV used it a lot in my current play through, it's great for defence against sneaky flying enemies in wave events etc especially if Ur in a box as u can just shoot it against the walls to create a fire wall that does great damage and u don't have to spam it so u don't even need really high mana
Farming the Dungeon is so tedious especially when you gotta keep in mind the different walls needed to spawn specific enemies. I remember farming forever for a Paladins hammer after my character save got corrupted which had a Paladins hammer, still haven't gotten one, atleast I got a Sniper rifle, which I promptly gave to my Ranger teammate cuz im Melee. Great vid Sockrteez!
For me, this is a fire weapon because increased debuff and the longer existence of the fire cloud. As for me, the coolest, but forgotten weapon is blizzard staff
I honestly forgot it existed until I got it totally randomly... post-golem. It's a surprisingly good weapon, basically an upgrade to the thunder zapper, but it just is cursed with dropping at a very, very low rate from somewhat uncommon enemies. Would love to see it given a higher drop chance from, say, ice golems, so it's easier to actually find the dang thing.
can you make a video about stellar tune i found this weapon pretty underused despite how effective it is in nearly half of hardmode while having very unique attack
I had looked over the Inferno Fork all my Terraria life, until I had to find decent weapons to fill the gap between Plantera and Moon Lord in Calamity. It is now my most trusted post-Plantera magic weapon.
Big fan of this weapon. Absolutely shreds golem and the post plantera invasions. The slow projectile does make it tough to use against fast bosses but it’s a lot of fun to use and a weapon I’ll often pick up during my mage playthroughs
When I got this weapon, I had about 70 penguins that I've been collecting from the very start of a playthrough with my friend, and he knew that I did, he just didn't know why. I made sure of it. I stuffed them into a little block box. And then I threatened to use the fork (my friend really likes penguins). And I did, when he tried to free them, by destroying the blocks on his side. He is still traumatized till this day, the gore fountain was truly unforgettable. We don't play Terraria together anymore. 10/10, would commit the BBQ again
I used this thing all the time as a combo mage of sorts. When paired with other lingering mage weapons, you can push out some uh.. frankly unreasonable DPS. Only problem, though, is that this playstyle stops being the best option after cultist, meaning it's only viable for two stages of the game.
Inferno Fork, Rainbow Gun, Nimbus Rod, Clinger Staff, Magnet Sphere, all paired with a squad of summons and the tornado from Forbidden Armor...... smack them with some flasks on a whip too and yeah you can absolutely annihilate any poor pathetic thing that gets stuck in that hellscape you create. It's a shame it's hard to make it viable on the three "penultimate" bosses (Cultist, Fishron, and Empress) due to their speed and tendency to move around a lot, but they all linger, some for a surprisingly long time; essentially you just leave them sitting where you know your enemy will go eventually and they'll take *ludicrous* damage when they do, especially if they sit in it. Particularly Empress; it's hard to get her in the perfect position but because she always follows the exact same pattern you can *totally* bait her into sitting in your deathtrap during Sun Dance with good movement lol
I remember trying to get the Inferno Fork during my first playthrough because it was one of the coolest options available for mages at this stage of the game. Unfortunately though, my dungeon didn’t have any Tiled Walls, so I spent hours trying to farm the Diabolists that managed to spawn on the different wall tiles. I don’t remember if I eventually managed to get one to drop in that world or went to farm it in a different world, but the whole ordeal was one of my worst Terraria experiences. It was a pretty cool weapon to use though.
Since u know Pokémon, it would be such a dream to have a Pokémon-related sockrteez. The ideas flowing through my mind right now, one being Earth Power vs Earthquake 😩
I remember back in the day I used this weapon to kill multiple stacks of Pumpkings at once while using the spectre armor to constantly regenerate health. I got a tonne of stuff by doing that.
Definitely my 5th favourite weapon. Also, suggestion, Betsy's Wrath. Betsy's Wrath is stupidly overpowered for all classes, as it inflicts the Betsy's Curse debuff for 10 seconds, which decreases enemy defense by 40, and is really good for most situations if you play mage on its own.
This might just be me but I'd love to see you do a review on the Nimbus Rod, it seems to be a great staff weapon good for fighting pre-hardmode and early hardmode events and of course the Destroyer
Shadow is the absolute best and is worth grinding for, the spectre is pretty good but inferno is just something that i usually get when grinding for the shadow staff.
The inferno fork is by far my favorite dungeon staff, but it is probably the most annoying to grind for, I always have at least 3 shadowbeam staves by the time I find one inferno fork, the low drop rate on top of how often the diabolic teleports is really annoying to get
I think the Shadow Beam Staff is amazing for crowd control due to it pierceing, instantanious shot and wall bouncing. It has great damage and its bouncing ability allows it to hit more than one opponent if your have good aim. The only con is that ive noticed that it looses damage the more enemies it hits but thats not too big of a problem due to its high damage. My only question is how does it handle tankier enemies or faster bosses like the empress of light? I think the Specter Staff is amazing for hitting enemies you cant keep up with or if you have bad aim with weapons that do not home. The only con to this is that its projectile speed is slow and while homing is good it can get annoying when it focuses on something else. My question is how does it deal against the empress of light? I know you said it doesnt do well with fast moving targets but the empress occasionally stops moving to cast out an attack so how does it deal against her? And i think Inferno Fork is great for single targets due to its damage stack. The weapons fire explosion also pierces through blocks. Albiet not far away but its to keep in mind. The cons with this wepons is its slow projectile traveling speed and that it doesnt perform well against fast moving targets since the bulk of this weapons damage is from the fire explosions stacking. Tell me if ive missed something
I think this weapon is overlooked because by the time you beat plantera its only really fast bosses like Duke Fishron, EoL and Moonlord. I guess it could be useful against the pillars though.
i found this of the first skeleton that drops it (dunno how to spell) on my first mage playthrough and i used it until i got razorblade typhoon. it's reaaaally good
Electrosphere Launcher might be better, because it has lower use time, higher damage, and doesn't use mana. But, it was post-golem weapon. Unlike the Inferno Fork which can be obtained before defeating the golem.
I know this is a late comment, but I definitely agree with ya, I just love how Inferno Fork functions, while not that good on fast bosses, it still performs really well on crowds of enemies and of course, Golem, man I just wish they buff Golem honestly💀
Thoughts about the Clockwork Rifle? I kind of like it because it's a weapon for stingy users on early hardmode, effectively tripling the amount of available bullets.
The Inferno Fork is pretty much the Toxic Flask but better in literally every single way lol
You should do the Heat Ray next! I heard it was awful but i still want to see how it does
Can you do a video on the Phantom Phoenix? Its a very interresting weapon that I love using, And it absolutely shreds destroyer.
@@edwardelric. it is still awful
@@SmthBoutSticks yeah i heard lol, still wanna see it on the channel tho
Toxic flask has more range and is (usually) easier to get. Still fork is better
If only Post Plantera Progression was more gradual, weapons like these get easily overshadowed by other Dungeon Drops alongside Post-Golem stuff.
Hollow Knight pfp = W
If only golem was hard. That would solve some of the issues with post-plantera weapons being over looked by other weapons since a lot of those weapons are after golem. This would as well make everything after Plantera and before pillars be about how good is the weapon against the pillars.
