Thank you, Grace, for this excellent tutorial!! I've had a Janome sewing machine for several years. I got this model several months ago, and last night I found this video and took the time to sit and watch. It was well worth the time!I learned so much! Made a button hole on a project. It was so easy! Used the walking foot on another project , it made sewing on fleece so easy!!
Thank you very much. I've had my machine for a year. I'm a visual learner and this was an excellent video. I'm still getting used to my machine and I've learned a few new things even though I have read the manual. This truly was a master class. I wish I had seen this video when I got my machine. I completely agree that it takes about a week with the knee lift, and yes I was one of those that would engage the lift and press the foot pedal, and yep, it sure is ugly. 😁
Thank you for this excellent tutorial. I find it easier to understand having a visual rather than just reading the manual.
I have this machine now for a couple of months but often pulled out my Juki because I wasn't too comfortable with the Janome. Two weeks ago I decided to intentionally use it more often and find a good way to be friends with her. Now with this video in the first minutes alone I've learned so many new things that are not described in the manual, I am so happy that I've found this masterclass video. Truly masterfully. Thank you so much.
This is a fantastic tutorial, much better than the official content from Janome. Thank you!
merci beaucoup🥰
Just purchased this machine yesterday and I'm so glad I found you on RUclips! Thank you Grace for an amazing class.
I have had my 6700 for 7 years and I found this tutorial so helpful! I appreciate all the tips and tricks!
Thank you. Best 2 hours of video I have ever seen. There were a number of features I hadn't figured out that will be useful. I subscribed so I won't miss any future posts.
Hello Grace. I have an M7 and I just watched your video and I congratulate you very much. It is a Masterclass to listen to you. You explain super well and calmly each function of the machine and even after 2 years of use, I still learned new things. In France, we do not have videos like yours and we have to manage with the book but sometimes it is difficult to understand. You are a great teacher. I loved your video and thank you very much.
I have had my Janome 6700p for a week and thanks to you I have already learned so much. It is indeed a mastery class and I feel as if I am in a real class learning 1 to 1. I don't feel overwhelmed with the technology. Thankyou Grace
Extremely helpful. I bought my machine about 1 yr ago, and needed a more indepth review. Really love the throat space for free motion quilting.
Hi Grace I just wanted to thank you so much for such an in depth video. My Husband just bought this machine for me and to be honest was a bit overwhelmed once I got it home. I had trouble threading it and I love doing appliqué with different coloured threads and was thinking I will never be able to do this. You also taught me things I didn’t know the machine did. So once again thank you. I now have a bit more confidence to carry on and get used to this beautiful machine
I'm so glad to hear the video helped you feel more confident! Thank you so much for the feedback--it motivates us to make more videos. Have fun with your new machine! --Grace
Excellent thank you so much, I get my machine next week but feel I know it already, thank you Grace.
An excellent mastery class! Thank you 😊
I now have the confidence I needed to use my new machine. Thank you so much for providing this class.
I have had my 6700 for several months and love it. This video has been very helpful and I have learned a lot from this video. Thanks for all of the information!
Excellent video. Have had my machine since COVID. I learned a lot. Thank you.
Awesome video! Will be referring to in future to learn options on this fabulous machine.
Fantastic class!! Thank you!!😊
Omg I need this machine
A couple of notes:
The setting information given at 1:51:14, bottom option - page 2, isn't correct. This doesn't erase the machine memory.
BUT it is, in my opinion, a very handy setting that tells the machine to continue with the last stitch setting you used last when you turn the machine back on again.
I would also like to add a tip regarding the Acu-feed feet since I've seen many struggle with the hook popping out mid seam.
When fastening the foot, push in the hook in the back, hand tighten the screw, lower your foot (make sure the back hook is still pushed all the way in) and then tighten with screwdriver.
And lastly, just to let you know, at around 31-34 min into the video we do not see the needle plate as you are explaining the guidelines.
But great video! Not much on this machine on YT, surprisingly, and I would have loved this video when I bought my 6700p. The best sewing machine I've tried and I'm in love ;-)
This video is really good. I only wish it had Time labels for the various parts of it. It would be helpful to know exactly where to go for certain lessons.
Excellent class! Could you please do this for the CM17? I would be glad to register and pay for an online mastery class - one on the sewing functions and one on the embroidery functions????
Video not showing the area you are talking about.
Hi , do you have classes for mc 6650 also
❤thank you
Your tutorial is SO informative to help me use my 6700P much more confidently. Enjoyed your amazing tips, all clearly explained. So glad I found your channel! However, I need a quick tip to do Monograms in Script lettering. Tried arrow buttons to move cursor (in Mode 3), but it doesn't move across to next 'section' for doing script lettering. Any tips to help me more than my instruction book? It would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you so much for the feedback! That is a very interesting question and I had to go try it on the machine! I found that you have to turn through the pages using the stitch width knob. Turn the knob clockwise to page through all the block letters, until you arrive at the script letters. If you have your stitch card or the back pages of your manual, you can also find the three digit code that corresponds to the letters you want and key that in directly using the number pad. Hope this helps! --Grace
Hi Grace, I see that you had printed out all the stitches the machine can do, where can I download it?
How to move needle position to left?
I can’t see the stitch area we are only seeing the right side of the machine.
Great video, except when you were discussing the markings on the stitch plate ... someone forgot to aim the camera to where you were indicating... whoops!
The camera didn't move when you were explaining the 1/4 markings.
What about foot pressure? 😊
What is the meaning of the little P and 7mm on stitch 084 in mode 2?
Why did you skip the thread guide (paperclip) that follows the thread telescope before going into the bobbing winding tension discs?
Skipping that thread guide increases the chance of the thread dismounting the tension discs while winding the bobbin.
Hello, thank you for the thoughtful question! I followed the Janome-approved threading instructions shown on page 20 of your manual. In addition, printed on the top of the machine, you'll see that the threading illustration also shows you skipping the "paperclip" (the dotted line shows the bobbin threading path). However, you should do whatever works best for you! --Grace
