Some suggestions from the Police - Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Can’t Stand Losing You, So Lonely, Message In A Bottle, Every Breath You Take, Don’t Stand So Close To Me
Also add to that list: 'Wrapped Around Your Finger' and 'Walking on the Moon' which are great songs from The Police.
All of those.
...and don't forget Canary In A Coalmine, Darkness, Bring On The Night, and King Of Pain
"Bed's Too Big Without You" - mono version, "Walking On The Moon". They summarise the best what the band was about in 1979-1980.
I suggest listening to a greatest hits album for any big hits you might be interested in.
The Police are often overlooked, but they were HUUUUGE for as long as the band stayed together. Some of the most-played songs in the history of recorded music. All 3 members of the band were musical giants.
Oh nice, hopefully more from them in the future
Walking on the Moon, is one of my favourites 😊
Sting hasn't aged at all he is amazing he honestly looks about 40 yrs old and he is 72 yrs old. He is a music icon as good as anyone of his time a bit like U2 every song the Police made was great, they were the real deal '.
"Every Little Thing She Does is Magic"
Message in a Bottle , Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Every Breath You Take. Great songs!
Looks like Sting might have put a spell on you. Three amazing musicians. Start with Message In A Bottle and enjoy.
My fav since day 1
The Police was another game changer band. They put reggae on the map for most Americans.
Sting as he is known( the lead singer) from Newcastle was a school teacher who shocked his students by forming the Police and becoming an instant superstar, he later went solo and tried his luck in America ( English man in New York) being his biggest hit, it also allowed him to be cast in the movie Dune(original version)
Five years before Dune was Quadrophenia ruclips.net/video/6JrSuy0m_zQ/видео.html
I saw Sting live a few months back. Dude's still got it. Also - your instinct was right - Sting wrote this song after walking through the red light district in Amsterdam. :)
"Invisible Sun" next. Or "Don't Stand So Close to Me". Or "King of Pain". Or "Message in a Bottle". Or "I Can't Stand Losing You". Or "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da". ANYTHING but "Every Breath You Take"😖("Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" is almost as bad)
Arguably the biggest pop/rock group of the 80s. My recommendation is go chronologically through their 5 albums.
If you just define them as rock I woud say top 20 in the 80s. Pop/rock and I'm not sure how many other groups would qualify under that subgenre...
I saw on a chart from Billboard, I think "Every breath you take" was the #4 most popular song in the 1980's.
Also "Every little thing she does is magic" is high on the list. Later, when Sting went solo, "Fields of gold".
And "Englishman in New York"
EBYT - a stalker song.
Ev breath you take is most played song on the radio, on the planet, of all time
Sting (real name Gordon Sumner) was a teacher in NE England. My wife went to the school he taught in, but not at the same time. Apparently that laugh at the beginning was when he stepped back and sat on the piano keyboard.
I got to see this band in 2007. It's still one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Other great songs are Message in a Bottle, Every Breath You Take, De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, and Synchronicity II. Great reaction Biss!! ❤👏👏
Hard to choose just one Police song. So many are great!! Personally I’d recommend Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Don't Stand So Close To Me, Message In A Bottle, Walking On The Moon to name but a few. I grew up with The Police...great days.
Walking on the Moon, Every Little Thing She Does is Magic…
Sting became a successful solo singer after The Police broke up in the 80's... Some of his solo hits - 'Englishman in New York'... 'If I ever lose my faith in you'... 'They dance alone'... 'Fields of gold'... 'Russians' ... 🔥🔥 Sting has a such a distinct voice.
More songs by The Police - 'Message in a bottle'... "I can't stand losing you" ... 'Spirits in the material world' ... 'Invisible Sun'
And for some reason I'm amazed that Desert Rose wasn't included in you list. Have you seen the Tuscany concert from 2001? There are videos out there of it
@@bertjones3010 She might have done 'Desert rose'... (?)
@@sumonjamal1653 oh... idk - I didn't even look to see if she'd done any Sting. Guess I should check yeah?
Ok did a search of her vids and Sting didn't back any mention of him. Neither did a search for Desert Rose. (In fact, the search for Sting didn't even bring up this video).
I commented a list too, but how hard is it to try to pick out a shortlist considering just how many fantastic songs The Police and then Sting have!? 😂
@@TheNotedHero True, but there is a fundamental difference between the two. Like Joni Mitchell, she had her pop period and her jazz period. The same for Sting, though his is more rock than pop and jazz. Even his treatment of the same songs played in both genres makes a big difference. Sure there are some iconic Police songs, but I do prefer his thoughtful jazz presentations of those same tunes.
Somehow this made me realize that you would probably love XTC. Fantastic British post-punk prog band.
Bisscute! How are things? I hope well. Oh my. The Police. They were huge, especially in the 80s. I was a huge fan and had all of their albums. Sting not only had a great voice but was the bass player as well. As an old Police fan, I recommend 3 songs to start. First, "Every Breath You Take." No, it's not a romantic song as many think. It's about a stalker!! Next, "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic." It's about a guy who is in love with a girl but is extremely shy. Next, "Don't Stand So Close to Me." This song is about a handsome young school teacher and a pretty student who likes him. The teacher finds her pretty too and is tempted, but knows it would be very improper to have any interest. Try those out and...WELCOME TO THE POLICE!! 👍👍
“The Bed’s Too Big Without You”. The bass is awesome and really gets into the reggae influence too. Stewart Copeland hi-hat and cymbal work is as good as it gets.
Every breath you take was their most played song. They call it a stalker song. But it is so good. Always loving your reactions. Your voice and accent is so good. I am glad to have found you. I😍😘❤💘
1. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic (a song about Bisscute? 🙂😉)
2. Can't Stand Losing You
3. Walking On The Moon
There's two levels when you discover The Police: the first is you notice Sting's unusual voice and delivery, it hooks you. The second level is whfn you notice the drumming by Stewart Copland and you notice no other drummer plays like him and then you realise he is among the top best 5 best drummers that ever existed. Then you just cant unheard his drumming. The more you listen to a The Police songs the more you realise how an unique band they were.
Stewart Copeland is one of my favorite drummers.
Coming from a drummer perspective who loves Copeland's playing, he is not a top 5 drummer of all time from a technical standpoint. Not even close. From a "unique" standpoint and for drummers with a signature sound, you do have a point. Very unique and very spontaneous. He approaches the drum set from a totally different perspective than most drummers. He is legendary nonetheless.
@@carlgibbons5777not true he’s extremely technical
@@samirait-kaci-gf3bn Didn't say he wasn't. The original poster said he's a top 5 drummer. From a technical standpoint, he's not close to the top 5 drummers. His uniqueness is what makes him great.
Sting as a solo artist has a song named Russians. It is based on music by the Russian composer Prokofiev and related to what just happens in Zaporizjzja...
Very fine Police hits: Don’t Stand So Close To Me. Message In A Bottle. Every Breath You Take.
I remember reading about Roxanne, he chose that name because in ancient times Princess Roxanne was the only girl who could keep Alexander the Great away from his boyfriends!
She must have been quite a girl.
I think Synchronicity 2 is their best.
Every Police song are incredible: "Message In A Bottle", "Every Breath You Take", "So Lonely" and many others, everyone are good. Choose and enjoy...!!! 😉😘
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .
I will leave this pinned message here to REMIND everyone that i do not have TELEGRAM and there is no GIVEAWAY. Those you see are bot scams . Keep yourself safe and know that I would not ask for your info. ❤ ❤
"Every Breath You Take" is a real good one.
My understanding is that Sting got his name from a time period when he would wear a black and yellow striped jacket and black pants, so he sort of looked like a giant wasp on stage. Oh, so many great songs.... my two favorites are "Fortress Around Your Heart," and "Fields of Gold." But there's so many more.
"Every Breath You Take" and "Message in a bottle"
"Canary in a Coalmine" is the title of a non-single track on The Police's 1980 album Zenyatta Mondatta.
First concert I ever took my son to was when they played here in St Louis on their last tour together. Great show.
My mom is a HUGE Sting fan. Apparently he used to be a history teacher before The Police took off, and she would joke about how none of the girls in his classes would learn anything. lol
The Police were an amazing band. Their entire catalogue is worth a listen. Saw them on their first North American tour in a small club and have been a fan since. Going to see Sting this fall.
Where's he going to be this Fall? I've seen him at least 13 times as a solo act. Saw the Reunion Tour back in 2008.
Sting definitely has a unique vocals. Love the Police they have some great songs. My favorite is Every Breath You Take, and Every Little Thing you do is Magic... But my favorite is of him in a trio with Bryan Adams and Rod Stewart, called All For Love. Tjanks. Enjoy this one.
Of their songs, I like De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da. (Yes, that's what it's actually titled.) I also like Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.
One of the great bands in history. You will get numerous suggestions and all are excellent. Throw them in a hat and pull one out. I like Message in a Bottle, So Lonely, Walking on The Moon
Bisscute ...................... So cute. Love your reactions, respect from Melbourne Australia.
Yay! I'm sure everyone else is already giving you the greatest hits. Definitely do some more police, but right now, for some reason I'm thinking about a newer song. Ha! Ok, the song is probably from almost 25 years ago now, which just goes to show you how old I am, so I don't think I can get away with calling it new anymore, but it's a solo Sting song that when it was new, was after most of the stuff that he is known for. It's called "Desert Rose", and it's a little different than most of his stuff, it's now been covered a lot internationally and you'll also be able to find some really great performances of a range of people doing it, and I think you'll dig it.
Great the legend rock Band from London I like it song great for Sting and great for your reaction beautiful Bisscute enjoy 👍🎶☺
Every Breath You Take next please
Happy to see you enjoyed The Police. Great band! "King of Pain" is one of my favorite tracks of theirs. They have a lot of great ones, though. Enjoy!
Police lead singer Sting wrote the song inspired by the prostitutes he saw near the band's seedy hotel in Paris, France, where the Police were lodged in October 1977 to perform at the Nashville Club. The song's title comes from the name of the character in the play Cyrano de Bergerac, an old poster of which was hanging in the hotel foyer.
Great banda!!!, More the police
Every breath you take is a classic you will love it
Some good memories here. Grew up listening to them.😊
The writer Sting got the idea on the band's early tour to France before a major breakthrough, while walking through the red light area.
I would really suggest Every Breath You Take, Don't Stand so Close to Me. Sting also did a song with Bryan Adams and Rod Stewart called All for One that was a huge hit back in the day.
"Walking on the Moon" is my favorite Police song.
During the world tour for Syncronicity, they sold out of tickets when I was in line in Vancouver. I was so bummed out. Years later for their Farewell/Reunion Tour, I bought tickets right away. They sounded as good in 2007 as they did in the 1980's. I was so happy. They may not get along, but they are an amazingly talented trio.
WALKING ON THE MOON! Best drumming by Stewart Copeland! ♥
Hey Bisscute.....English may not be your first language, but it's excellent!.....and don't lose your accent either!😀 Try 'Message in a Bottle' (The Police) next?
Good Reaction :^) ... Sting tripped in the sound studio and laughed it off at the beginning of the song. The band liked it so much they kept it in the song... Just one of those unplanned things. (More songs: "Don't Stand So Close To Me".. "Message in a Bottle" ... "Walking on the Moon"...)
I am so happy that you found The Police! They are one of my absolute favorite bands. While I think that Neil Peart is the best drummer ever, Stewart Copeland from The Police is my favorite drummer. He has such a unique sense of rhythm and feels and if you watch closely, he uses a unique traditional grip with his left hand which helps with his unique sound. He also writes music for everything from video games to orchestras. As for Sting, he is one of the absolute greatest song writers ever, he is truly a musical genius. Synchronicity 2 is a perfect example of how good his songwriting is, it sounds like a fairly simple pop song, but if you dig into it you will find a very complex song.
Message in A Bottle - their most well known song for a reason
Reggatta de Blanc - a groovy instrumental
Don't Stand So Close To Me - my personal favorite
Spirits in the Material World - really highlights Sting as a bass player
King of Pain - a hauntingly beautiful song
Really you can't go wrong with any Police song recommendations
This song was featured in the good old movie "48" (1982) with Eddie Murphy... maybe one of the next reactions 🎬🙂
Great reaction as usual. I really recommend evolving along with them and listening to The Police one album at a time. So, songs to recommend next: So Lonely, Can’t Stand Losing You, Hole In My Life, Peanuts. Enjoy!
Sting went solo after the last Police album in 1983 (Synchronicity).
He's got tons of stuff, but I reckon his biggest bestest solo hit is Fields Of Gold - gorgeous song.
Lot's of awesome music to check out with about 5 Police albums spanning 1978 - 1983. You'll find Sting's solo career interesting which spanned over several decades and even with a late album released in 2021 (The Bridge). Other's may have varied suggestions, but I'd start with Sting's "Ten Summoner's Tales". Not his first one, but somewhere around his 9th released in 1993 that drew me personally back into listening to more of his music after the Police broke up.
Don’t Stand So Close To Me is worth a look. It’s about the student/teacher relationship boundaries. Sting was a teacher before a musician.
Had the pleasure to see sting twice at Wembley stadium. Back in the late 80s. At the Nelson Mandela 70th birthday concert and amnesty international concert
Walking on the moon, Every breath you take, Message in a bottle...
Love your reactions, youre so natural, thats the best, great channel!!
-So lonely
-Message in the bottle
they bave a lot of hits
->for the lives -> Synchronicity Concert 1983 = good audio (better than MV)
Every little thing she does is Magic, Dont stand so close to me, Message in a bottle are some of their best hits but they churned out so many good songs back in the day
Btw, I always chuckle when you apologize for your English being not perfectly fluent. I can only dream of speaking a 3rd or 4th (5th??) language as well as you speak English. My Italian is conversational but that's where it ends. Complimenti, Biss!! (That's an easy one!!🤣)
You just took the first step into a very deep rabbit hole. And you started with their very first hit song. Great job! The Police are my all-time favorite band.
Sting, aka Mr. Gordon Sumner also played on the extended cut for Dire Straits, he's best known as Sting of course but his sound with drummer/percussionist Stewart Copeland which had a lot of influences from reggae which is all fitting with the entire political and musical scene from that era *70's*. You'll find a few "hits" and you'll find a bunch of other recommendations from other subscribers I'm sure so I won't go into any of my own favourites. Sting, when he went solo even today still performs and I think he was on tour or is currently on tour right now! I grew up listening to his music so it has been there for all of my personal milestones and I'm sure they will be there for you now and in the future!
Police - Every Breath You Take. FTW
Walking on the moon, King of Pain, & Message in a bottle, just a few for your consideration Biss❤
I suggest these Police songs: Spirits in the Material World, Every Little Thing She does is Magic & Synchronicity 2
At the beginning you hear a piano keyboard and a laugh. Sting reportedly accidentally sat on the keyboard and laughed. They decided to leave it in.
roxanneee, roxaneee, 80´s, excelente grupo.
The police are one of the best bands ever ❤
In general, it's best to start with the older Police albums such as; Outlandos d'Amour. 1978; Reggatta de Blanc. 1979 ; Zenyatta Mondatta. 1980; Ghost in the Machine. 1981. All these albums were awesome but somewhat before their max popularity. Awesome band....
Hey Bisscute...Sting's real name is Gordon Sumner and he comes from Newcastle, North East England (he's a 'Geordie'). Police were a MASSIVE band back in the late '70's and all through the '80's having one smash hit after another. Sting is a former school teacher and the Police hit 'Don't Stand So Close To Me' was about a young girl who has a serious crush on one of her teachers. There are many massive hits from the Police for you to check out and I hope you share some of your excellent reactions with all of us. 🙋♂ ❤ 🙋♂ ❤
Message in a bottle, my favorite Police song
Yes, they were big in the 80's had several songs make it big.
Heh understatement
Great band. My suggestion would be Message in a Bottle.
The Police were one of the bands that were part of my introduction into music, my family weren't really into music, so i didn't get into music til i was a little older.
Puff Daddy sampled Every Breath You Take for song I'll be missing you.
Sting, great voice and played Feyd Rautha on the movie Dune in like 1983/4
MORE POLICE! MORE POLICE! it's a rabbit hole u won't regret goin done :)
every little thing does is magic is another brillient song from the police and Steward Copeland is one of the best drummers of all time, Sting has a brilliant carrier after the Police as solo artist as well
Many great suggestions in the comments. Police are a excellent 3 piece band
"Synchronicity 1" official video. From their last album when they went out on top.
Sting’s voice is definitely an original and you can always tell is him when you hear a song by the Police or Sting solo.
the lead singer is "sting" he also did a song 20 years later called desert rose, take a look.
other songs by the Police: Don't Stand So Close To Me, Every Breath You Take (tell us what you think that one is about...), Wrapped Around Your Finger (it was the "theme song" for a D&D group I was in once),
Best songs for me, beds too big without you. And Bring on the night
Hello Miss Bisscute the Police with Sting was a Good Group threw the 80 ' also the lead singer Sting was in the original movie DUNE !!! Yet here are A couple more worth A listen for sure !!!

3) Every little thing she does is Magic ✨
My favorites are message in a bottle and every breathe you take. The police were one of my favorite bands when I was growing up.
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic definitely a fun song.
Hi Bisscute, try doing Every Breath You Take by the Police. They were big in the early 80’s.
The saying about the bird continues... It says "it you have a bird set it free, if it returns to you it's yours forever, if it doesn't it never was... Sting, from the Police has a song about this... It's called Set it free 😁😁😁.... U should check it out.
if you liked the guitarist, I think his name was Andy Summers and he did some solo instrumental releases back in the day. I know he did some soundtracks for movies, too.
I first saw the Police at Sullivan Stadium in Foxboro Massachusetts USA… I’m an older follower (love your movie reactions) It was 1983 and they were huge. They closed their set with this song before encore… In my high school year book in my profile under favorite song, Roxanne. The crowd went wild. Nice review and reaction
Sting has done some great work. You might enjoy Synchronicity 2 (great video), If I Ever Lose My Faith In You ( also great video), and Fields of Gold.
If you'd like another good song about the red light, I'd suggest 'Fascination Street' by The Cure.
