Hello beautiful artists.... hope you enjoy this lesson!! Please leave me feedback with any questions, suggestions for future videos, or just to say "hi"!! Happy Painting!
Thanks for sharing. its lovely. But how do you keep the pigment in place after you are finished? I tried pastel years ago and if it didn't frame painting right away the dust made a mess, even stored in plastic covering slips. There must be some kind of sealant. I tried the hairspray trick. No good.
Tank you very Much for this beautiful tutorial 😀
Hello Susan😃, thank you for this tutorial. I have to admite that I have beautiful Schminke pastels I never used, only for a very small portret of my kitten.😔
I work a lot with lines, pen and ink and drawing material.
I hope to be brave one day and jump in the more painterly style you always use
I love your work and the positive way you make your tutorials 👍❤️❤️❤️🌹
Love from Holland😘
You are so welcome! And You Can do it Alice!!! Just start trying some studies and remember to have fun!

Thank you so much! Love your style😍😍😍😍
Lovely
"If it is everywhere, it is nowhere". Great tip! Can you provide more tips like this for drawing natural looking flower mass? It looks so wildy and haotic, and it makes natural beauty of your painting. Thanks for your amazing videos!
I love that you're using inexpensive, unsanded paper! It's lovely to see what you can achieve on that kind of paper. I am always slapping clear or tinted clear gesso on every surface. Lol. Maybe I don't need to do that every time. Clearly you can get some great layering without the sandy-ness!
This a wonderful painting and I love the easy way you did it without extra rubbing the colours into the paper. Interesting for me as someone who paints mainly in watercolour is that you start here with dark colours and end with the lightest and brightest. In watercolour it's the other way round. What I like about painting with pastels is that you don't have to plan so much in advance like you have to do with watercolour. So I will definitely try this medium. Thanks a lot for all your explanations! 🤗❤️
Yes Andrea.... you nailed it with respect to how you work with values in pastel vs. watercolor. When I started painting in watercolor seriously I had to learn very quickly that I can't work the same way as with pastels. Preserving the luminosity of the paper is key. And I agree with what you said about being able to be a bit more spontaneous with pastels. The layering quality gives the artist a bit of freedom. ;)
It’s beautiful. I learn the hard way when I sprayed a painting on my grand kids and it darkened it. I was sick at heart. I don’t know how to fix it. You have been a great teacher. Thank you.
Hi..! You sound much better.
Personally I love my voice like that... Because I'm a tenor, It give me a deeper tone. No intervals needed lol
💜
Lol ... I did this lesson and I have so much more pastel on my paper than you. Hopefully my eye keeps developing.
