I personally like your commentary as you draw. You’re explanation as it happens helps a ton. Also. I could listen to your voice at a cafe over the local music all day as I draw.
Thank you Miss Susan! I love how you broke down the soft pastel process. I have struggled with Canson Mi-Tients paper. So now I think I may be able to tackle this paper. I really appreciate the full scope video from start to finish. Prayers for a healing touch and wellness. I wish you a beautiful day! Thank you
I have been waiting for this one since you traded it a few weeks ago. Thank you for all the beautiful content you provide. You still sound a little sick. I hope you are feeling better.
YAY!! Thank you! @sandradambaugh6728 Comments like this are part of why I do this. I love inspiring others, especially in their art journey! Thank you for your sweet comment!
Thank you, also I'm getting back into pastels. I learned pastel from a rigid rule period of does and don'ts. I'm finding out rules are made to be broken and too many frustrate the artist... So now it's time to play.
Very nice. I'm learning a lot from your tutorials. I like your style. BTW, I'm a gardener x several decades and those are sunflowers. There are actually a lot of different kinds of sunflowers. And they all are facing the same way because...they follow the sun.
Love the fresh, bright colors! I do enjoy the commentary. As a new pastel person I like to hear what colors you are using. Sometimes, just from sight, it's hard to tell dark red from brown, or purple from dark blue or black. Thank you so much. Think this might be my next attempt!!
Oh, the flu is a drag! Glad you're coming out of it. Thank you so much for sharing your early "fail" experiences. That's very encouraging.❤. You should show us some examples! 😃You may have tossed them, though. Hee
This is v helpful and interesting to me. Yes, I would have started with the flowers (and get overwhelmed, I suppose) before ending with filling the sky!😆
This has been very helpful especially about the Rubens pastels. I've been painting with pastel for a while now but still feel like a beginner. And I'm extremely low on pastels which makes it hard to get a good outcome.
I totally understand, Judith. That sounds very similar to my beginnings as a pastel artist. Hang in there sweetheart and in time you can hopefully acquire more pastels.
@@monetcafe I’m so happy I found your channel! I appreciate all the instruction and insights you provide. I mostly use acrylic (just starting) but did pull out a pastel set I have of my moms. Such FUN!!!
Objects and negative space... Are the meat and potatoes; seasoned with value, garnished with an array of beautiful colors. I'm hungry now ;) "Not always will God give me what I want, but he sure provides me with what i need." Amen
Oh, I wish I could remember the music to this one. Unfortunately, I have to delete my files when I upload a video because they are so huge. So glad you liked the music though.
Best painting tutorial on pastel I've seen. I like your humble & down to earth personality. Thank you so much!

Absolutely beautiful! I am a new patron and tried pastels for the second time today and it was a disaster. I will try this one tomorrow. Thank you!
Don’t get discouraged sweetheart!! I’ve had many disasters. It’s a learning process for sure ☺️👍🏻💜

Thanks Elizabeth and I’ll have to see if I can find some of those failed paintings. I’ve trash a lot of my work over the years, lol.
@@monetcafe Lol! I understand.

What is the music you played while you finished the painting? It was so inspiring and seemed to compliment your creativity ❤

I like to hear what instructions you have throughout video!
Glad to hear that! I always worry that I might be talking too much, ha ha.
