This is NOT a Full English Breakfast - it's Better

- First of all, if you Love everything London and it's history - please watch till the end. Let me tell you, this is not a full English breakfast, it's better than that. In over 300 Darren John videos - a full English has never been on his radar. A fry up on the other hand, now you're talking. A fry up of all the cafes favourite ingredients. Always a breakfast (fry up) but never a full english and a good ole cup of tea. No coffee while eating - don't you agree? Best breakfast fry up in 2023
Andrew's cafe restaurant in Grays Inn Rd is another new favourite with amazing fried bread (slice) banging sausages, plenty of bubble and chuck on the chips. Off the charts - @DarrenJohn
With footage of Hatton Garden and Leather Lane Street Food Market.

Another Great Vlog mate …on my favourite food Breakfast ! may I say it looked fantastic .
what a great touch with more historical insight into our great city Darren well done and thank you finishes the Vlog off 👍😀
Glad you enjoyed it
@@DarrenJohn Loved the history tour - absolutely mind-blowing stuff
Get them beans on that fried bread daz
How can so many people be interested in One Bloke eating Breakfasts/Fry-Ups/Any Street Grub?? You've just got something special going on, Darren especially when coupled with Luke and Daisy Duke. Love the little hidden history bits too. What a magnificent place that St. Bartholomews is with all those narrow passageways around. True London. Well Done (again) Darren, keep 'em coming.
Cheers Cliff, nice one
🤤 5:38: After watching you put an egg on one slice of toast and then some baked beans with another egg on another slice, is making my belly rumble. 🤤
went there with my cousin/second cousins today. kicking myself for not having the fried bread or bubble.
it's good, great coffee, amazing service, all the food was quality. very reasonable. can't go wrong with this place.
Andrew's is great
I agree with your comment about not supporting the 'Chains'. We all need to support small businesses rather then 'the man'...Well done Darren.
Wow, thanks for the video Darren. A great lesson on some of London's history. A look inside Andrew's Cafe. It looked amazing (place and food). I will add on my to do list.... sausage, egg and chips is always a winner for me. The extra bits you had just took it to another level!
Every small business has a special breakfast the way it’s presented and cooked that looked delicious 😂😂😂
So true!
Stayed until the end. That church - immaculate. Thanks for taking the trouble
my late father worked in london in the 1960s on the building sites when there was no work here in southern ireland
Love it, definitely making part of my next visit to London a history tour. So much not seen by the regular tourist trails.
Please do!
Looks great , I’ll go there and Paolo for breakfast when I go down and see my daughter, thanks Darren 🏴❤️👍
Hi Darren Love the videos where you show us around the places you visit thanks.
Catching up on your videos.
Loved Prague ones.
Such a pleasure to watch you do this because you enjoy it,like Gary Eats you take pleasure and so relaxed.
Thanks and don't chase the algorithms Cheers Jonathan
Awesome, thank you!
Love the music at the end, that's the London that should be shown more , not the London we see on eastenders. Good video, looking good Darren. 😉
Those eggs were cooked perfectly 😋👌
Honest, that looks the best fry up I've seen you eat. Yummy!😋😉
Wow what a lovely little find , love the old and the new buildings of London history. Thanks for sharing 👍😁
Thanks for watching Kazz
I had to chuckle when you were rearranging the grub on the plate as I thought I was the only person that did that. Your right about the fried bread certainly the oil makes it. I'm not from anywhere near London and to be honest never been interested after an initial visit 30 years ago but since I've followed your channel Im actually impressed by all the local eateries and your making it a definite spot where you are to visit sooner rather than later . Excellent vid
Appreciate it
Incredible church and surrounding!
Yummy food, plenty of tea with your sugar. Thank you for the historical tour, the architecture is simply sublime. A great vlog Darren❤
Thanks Pauline - I love finding old London
Oh wow Darren! I’ve got shivers down my spine from that view of St Bartholemew’s. Nine hundred years since the started the building of it. If only walls could talk! Thank you so much for taking us on another amazing journey around London. Fry up looked amazing too 😋. Please keep them coming. All the Best, Barb xx
Glad you enjoyed it Barb, I love adding London's history to the content when I can
That was a great food vlog but the London history aspect blew me away. London really is the most incredible place and thank you for sharing. Wow.
I love the London no-one sees
Looks amazing, I just love all these wee gems you have down there!
I love finding them Colin
What a fry up. I’d be happy with bubble eggs and bread! As for the walk around you can’t beat London. I’ve been to quite a number of places but a walk around London, especially at night, is so special. Particularly down the Embankment. Great video,Darren.
Another cracking breakfast!! Love the rearranging of the plate. I do the same. Eggs on the bread/toast (we don't have fried bread here) so it soaks up the egg 🍳 As for the little history addition at the end, absolutely loved it. So fascinating. When you say some the dates of the buildings over there it completely blows my mind!! So sad about what happened to St Barthomolew. Quite brutal times back then but all part of History. I'll never get sick of hearing and learning about History and the past. 📜 Thank you for sharing that with us. Loved it!!! 😊💙👍🏼
Thanks Penny - I really love finding these tucked away places in this beautiful city - so proud of the city I was born 🙏🏼
Thanks another brilliant vlog . Chips with a fry for sure a big yes from me . That fry up looked absolutely brilliant so tasty and qualify eggs could have cooked a bit longer but as you would say off the charts. Great to see the historic buildings as well. A big thanks Darren . Colin
A super looking fry up Darren John thanks for sharing. Not forgetting the incredible history that you include on your videos !!
Glad you enjoyed it
Love all the history DJ you make London special, another super video thankyou
Glad you like them!
Fried bread , tinned tomatoes on top then the egg and 12 tonnes of pepper (smoked for 43 years have not many taste buds left 😂😢)
Darren…I love your videos. I’m in the USA and, God willing, will have the opportunity to visit your beautiful country again. You’ve given me many ideas of places to eat and visit. Cheers!
Nice one Les
Great history at the end.
So excited to see this. I had told my husband I was going to send you a message to go here and then just like that there you were! I first ate there 35(!) years ago and it is still fabulous. So glad you loved it!
That is awesome!
Wow! This one touched me to the core at the end. Mainly because one of my ancestors was featured 😢 touching. Then I have to say Darren having finished my five mile walk this afternoon and eagerly munching the old salad, that fry up did look good 😊
I agree tea with a meal will always work best. Loved this Vlog and obviously for personal reason. Thank you for sharing have a super lovely evening … -keep smiling 😉
Thank you Jayleigh - always positive comments
Looks gorgeous Darren, I can't drink Coffee with food, it's either a Pint of Lager lol or glass of pop ,but with fish n chips it as to be a big cuppa Yorkshire Tea 👍😋🤣Xxx
Now that's a proper breakfast you have so many choices round london.all the best for 2023 Darren
Appreciate it, cheers
Love beams with my full english😂 love the typo at 2.37
Andrew's breakfast..10p more than full English, to get rid of hash browns but getting an extra egg and extra sausage, no brainer!
New subscriber to the channel.....loving it 👍👍👍
Good honest food/cafe reviews and also loving the snippets of history etc...👍👍👍
Awesome, thank you!
Welcome aboard
Oh my word. I loved the end of this one. Look forward to and love your videos but that Church and the narrow house was amazing. More please ! x
Love finding these places
Love the bit of London history and a champion of family businesses- well done 😊
Spot on, thank you Lindsay
Breakfast/Brunch OTC and the sausages were well done, exactly how I like them. Thank you for showing the Sir Wallace Memorial. I will be showing this to my Scottish partner. On the TV for full effect. An excellent vlog Darren. 😊👍🏽♥️
Awesome Serena
Love the video food looked clean and cooked well and the hidden visual gems sends tingles down your spine , so many historical beauty around it unreal .
Thank you so much!
Hi Darren. Love your videos. Recently found your channel and now binge watching your back catalogue. London, fish and chips, motorbikes, pie, eels and mash, curries and fry ups. Rearrange your plate - has to be done - eggs on fried bread. Lovely.
Awesome, thank you Kim - welcome aboard
Oh DJ I love your vlogs. I love the food, the expresion on your face when its good and the sightseeing. London has so much hidden history. I could walk round and look at all these places all day. Obviously i would need a good hot curry after. Everything in one go and it's not to long with things that we get bored with. Keep up the good work darling xxxxxxxx
Thank you so much Jo😁
Once again great video, you can tell that you are extremely proud of our heritage. Always honest about food vlogs, looked amazing
Thank you for your time Glenn
Fantastic video I absolutely love London and I'm proud to be born there please keep up the great vids 😀
Thank you! Will do!
Hi DJ. great looking fry up that one..and wow that hidden building at the end.....London is soon good at hiding little gems like that....just amazing!! Thanks DJ
DJ that was a delicious-looking fry-up and yes to the fried bread, bacon and chips. Great to see the owner Andrew. Thank you for the tour and the amazing history.
Glad you enjoyed it
One of your best DJ
Very kind
Great respect for finishing that, it looked a quality plate of food some cafes you've been to the food can look a bit basic but that looked very appetising. Thanks for sharing great vlog as usual .
Thanks for watching Stasy
That just looked amazing I could only imagine how it tasted 👍
I learned a while back St Bartholomews Church is one of the most beautiful in London, you had to pay then, only about 3 quid if I remember right. Free now though. The Norman arches look fantastic. I have often wanted to go there, so thanks for that. The brekkies looked sensational too. You do some crackers M8 you surely(Shirley) do :) What don't I call you ? :) Tee Hee
Loved this video, St Bartholomews is stunning isn’t it. I’m binge watching your older videos at the moment too! 😅
Glad you like them!
Thanks for giving us such great ideas to visit in London. We're coming over in July with a stop in London and then off to Ireland. Much love Rissy from Vancouver BC ♥️ 🇨🇦
Have fun in July 🙏🏼👌🏼👊🏼
Looks super, Darren. Will give it a proper watch ce soir. You need to get over to Northern Ireland for a good ol' Ulster Fry. Fried potatobread, soda bread and pancake...stunning!!
All the best,
Andy. 💚
I'm sure I will at some point
Another great video. Love the short history ending, A big Braveheart fan, so I was surprised to see that. Keep up the good work! 👍👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Darren the vlogs you produce are so informative keep it up cheers
Appreciate it Ricky, thank you
Thank You for another great video👍🏽
Absolutely loving the Food, Architecture and History combination, a bit like what the Master; Mr. Keith Floyd Esq. would share with us back in the day.
Brilliant Stuff!!!
Yet another great vlog, I love a man that enjoys their food. When I have fried bread, I have a plain slice of bread with HP , and bacon which makes a great sandwich. Yummy. 💚
Sounds great!
Don't see the old sugar pouers any more up north, you have some fantastic eating establishments in London and not the price you think they would be.
❤️ adding both the cafe and the church to our list of things to do when we visit in the fall 😊 thanks
👍🏼🙏🏼👊🏼
This should be the breakfast channel. Looks amazing as always.
If only I could eat a fry up everyday 👍😊🙏
Looked great Darren, much better than Terry's (Don't tell Terry) Lol
Great sausages and better value by far and better service.
👍👍😁
I'm not a cockney or a Londoner but my late mum was....
So the history part is very interesting like the rest of your vlogs which seem to get better and better..
Keep up the excellent work DJ
Glad you enjoyed it
Problem with Leather Lane come 3pm the food outlets have packed up.
Breakfast looks fantastic...missed your channel...three weeks in hospital ...just got back home...so lots to catch up on xxx
Hope you are well Sharon
When it comes to vlogs London is the gift that keeps giving
You got that right Alvin 👍🙏
Yet another great vlog. I should have been in London now, unfortunately suffered a stroke on Jan 9th. Hope to be there in April. Keep up the great content Darren. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Get well soon Mark
Hey DJ! Nothing wrong with chips if you want them on and also if a cafe serves so early in a morning too. I’ve never been a fan of hash browns. Nice bacon and eggs, sausages even bubble looks good. Love fried bread so it’s a clear winner. Only thing I missed which you usually get is bread and butter. Love a sweet cuppa with a fry up. Nothing better. Great history look about and the street food stalls too. Take care 😘👍🏻
I agree regarding bread & butter
Just came across this Vlog fantastic episode and info from our history still there for tourists to see .
Glad you enjoyed it
That looked the perfect breakfast/brunch. Chips all day long instead of hash browns.
Fried bread to boot. 😋😋.
Give River Cafe opposite Putney tube station a look.
Amazing bubble and really nice friendly family business
It's been on my list for a while Ian 🙏🏼👍🏼
thank you for the old content well worth my time looking at it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice one Paul 👍🙏
Bubble looks lovely! Totally agree about it having to be tea when eating. Great photography, editing and am loving the music! Another great one Darren, keep em coming, cheers!
I'd heard about Bartholomew's church and it's definitely one of the sights I'd do next time I'm down there, so what a treat! Absolutely beautiful.
Church is free entry 👍🏼🙏🏼
@@DarrenJohn even better! Happy days mate :)
I just love full English~ Love from China
Well DJ. I like eating and love history so this vid right up my street. Really enjoyed it thanks
So glad you enjoy
Another great video, Darren, and yet another place to visit on my occasional London trips. Probably the first video, though, to have an almost ‘ When Harry met Sally ‘ scene generated by fried bread ! Best wishes
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovely brekkie followed by a great historical tour of that amazing church - thanks Darren
👊🏼🙏🏼👍🏼
Hi Darren. You never get disappointed with good old street food. The fried bread just makes a breakfast. Must admit I'm partial to black pudding. Love it "cuppa tea" My favourite drink of the day lol! Wow... What a lovely, fresh breakfast. Could eat that right now. Looks a really nice place. You and Daisy Duke are a perfect pair. 🏍️ ♥️ Always love all your London info and the history. I love a walk up to the Wallace Monument in Stirling. Another fab vlog. Have a lovely evening Darren. 🥰🌞🥰xxx
Very kind, positive comment June, thank you
@@DarrenJohn You are most welcome! 🥰🌞🥰Xxx
Loved the food, loved the history content, keep up the good work
Glad you enjoyed
First time commenting my wife and I visit London a lot and thanks to your vlogs especially the map outlining were you have been means we can visit easily some of the places you have been cheers old boy
Appreciate it Graham - long may it continue
Hey DJ I must say that the breakfast you had was lovely. Going by your face you enjoyed it. Looks like a lovely place to eat xx
Amazing plate of comfort food Lynne
Have to admit the reason I watch your channel isn’t because of the food ( which is always top notch btw ) but the history of London that appears in your Vlogs, top job and you should if you don’t already do , just history and travel type vlogs , in between the food vlogs .
I appreciate that!
Fabulous and informative Darren and the breakfast looked cracking as well !
Food looked amazing!!! Definitely off the charts!! Great history and heritage of London
Glad you enjoyed it
@@DarrenJohn yes I did, the meal looked great and was good to see more of the little streets and history of London. I was born in Walthamstow and grew up for the first 8 years of my life in South Woodford before moving about to other parts of the south east of the UK.
Looked excellent breakfast. Good video.
This one encapsulates all I love about visiting London, Darren. Often I'll pop up in the summer, book out a room at Imperial College and just tube hop. Pick a place, find somewhere to eat and just stumble on history. No attempt to research, just follow your nose. Loved the ending, those narrow walkthroughs of original London - just wow every time you find one.
Nice one 👍🏼🙏🏼👊🏼👌🏼
PS. The history lesson was great. Love all that. The stories those ancient buildings could tell. Gives me shivers! In a good way, my imagination runs away with me when I see stuff like that. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Sue
Good evening Darren. A very Lovely and Relaxing video you have produced. Super little Cafe/Restaurant. Awesome Breakfast to feast on. Really did enjoy the History tour you showed to us. What a Great place London is. Full of Historical Buildings and Beautiful places to visit. Excellent and Professional as always Darren. " Top Of the Charts "..🙂🙂
Glad you enjoyed it
@@DarrenJohn Yes Darren, very much. Top of the Charts my Friend. 😃😃😃
Hi Dj yet again another brilliant vlog. Loved the food but it was the old church and music that got my attention. Absolutely fantastic keep bringing them x.
Thank you Angela
Loved the history lesson Darren much appreciated it’s so interesting
Glad you enjoyed it Dave - I love finding places
Darren John doing what Darren John does best. Excellence once again. Oh my goodness .........the end...........spectacular building, full of history, wonderfully portrayed Darren with haunting but very fitting music. 10/10 DJ. Food looked amazing in Andrew's, certainly one to promote. As I dont drink tea, it has to be coffee for me.
Thank you Thelma - very kind
Looks fantastic DJ, personally i would swop the chips for tinned tomatoes, black pudding but thats the great thing about a fry up, all the different combinations great vlog as usual pal 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Darren..
Nice one John
So right about the fried bread, if its done in nasty oil, its not even edible. When I make fried toast at home, I use butter, it comes out so nice.
Thanks for sharing!!
@@DarrenJohn No problem, also frying eggs in butter is great
I used to spend weekends in London years ago when I was a young man (late teens early twenties) me and my friends. Took the train from East Anglia. Great times partying, even spent a few hours in a London jail one night for fighting. One night we all blew our money drinking and didn't have enough for a b&b so we spent the night riding around on a double decker sleeping to get out of the cold. Luckily we always bought round trip tickets or we would have never got home. I love London and it's history. I'll be going through there in March and will be doing a bit of looking around.
Thanks for sharing Gary
Hi Darren its Saturday night im having a few beers at home I could go for the fry up looks good mate another great video thanks mate Shane in Sydney
Hope you enjoy
Bubble looked class
you're holding the fork in the right hand this time. yes!!!
I always do Carlos 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Love how the bubble made a natural breakwater between the egg and beans Darren!
I don't do break waters - I find it hilarious 😂🙏🏼
Old London is beautiful thankyou
So true Kirstie
Excellent video Darren and the fry up looked brilliant not bad priced either. In tenerife at the moment and had a decent breakfast in Harriets , which you'll know all about.
Keep um coming. All the best
Nice one Kevin, I shall be in Harriets next month
