I just got mine and I love it. Perfect scooter for the price. Everything about it I have no complaints. I got mine to 30km with just the firmware update. I drove max speed to and from work 5.5 miles, 11 mile round trip, and still had 2 bars and the other one blinking. So 2 and a half you can say. Great scooter and the tires are great. I had to replace mine on a hoover scooter and it completely went to shit after that. No tubes would fit and the ones that did, the stem was too long or curved. So having no replacement tubes is by far my favorite thing about it.

I'm a smaller person, 125 pounds, and I use the scooter to go to one of my jobs and to go to my parents' house as I am a caretaker. Just bought this in Costco. I really love it. I'm only 5'6 so it's perfect in my height. I use it everyday to work. It's only drawback is the range. Your work distance should not be more than 15 kilometers away from your house in order to ride this scooter back and forth without charging. If your work is 20km away then get the Max. Even though it says max range of 40km this scooter will probably get you to max range of 38. Roads aren't level all the time and weather condition can also affect the range.
Nice vid and thanks for the comparison updates. To suit my size and travel distance needs I would go for the original Ninebot Max. However my real reason for thinking of buying one is not one that I find online to have been considered....I could be wrong....but anyways...... I have a HIace Hitop Campervan and intend travelling extensively. As a Senior Citizen, for me to have another means of transport to use either to go get help in case of vehicle breakdown or medical emergency or if I need to go pick up supplies and shopping are all for me highly important considerations. That means I need to seriously look at how I am going to port the thing in my Campervan. My van is being serviced right now so I am only guessing when I say that the Ninebot might fit under the bed at the rear. That will deprive me of quite some of the space I normally use for plastic food storage bins. But.....this is all about consideration of PRIORITIES , CONVENIENCE along with PROTECTION OF PERSONAL MOBILITY... so I am staying focused on that. One thing that occurs to me is that it would greatly simplify storage of a Ninebot if the handle could be rotated to be in line with the body when it is folded up. It could then be stored lying either vertically or flat within a limited space such as a car boot, or attached to the back of a vehicle somehow. Bicycle holders which attach to the vehicle towball have been around for years...I will have to check if there is such an option for E-scooters, and one that ensures they are rendered thief proof to a reasonable degree. So for me, the considerations are not so much about having FUN......but things much more important. The FUN to be had will for me be more that of PERSONAL SATISFACTION that I have covered the important bases I set out to. I am sure I will have FUN riding one. I still get that even riding my bike at age 76 !
I have the original max. I am buying a second one because I love it so much. When I saw the new version come out I loved your video because it really explain the differences I am 6'2" tall and really have issues with scooters I do not fit my frame. I just got this at Costco on sale for a good discount. I'm pretty happy with it so far and I like that it's a bit smaller and lighter than the previous model. I'm not needing to go like 45 miles on an escooter anyways.
I try to think of it as a good round trip distance. I might not want to go 45 miles away on it but if I might go half that distance then at least it should get me back home. Anyway, mine doesn’t tha be that range anyway, being the newer model, but it’s worth considering that approach.
@@satwikk9896I coincidentally bought it on Amazon Prime Day of July 11th this year and it was exactly the same price as you described! It is simply amazing and I already have 700+ miles on it! I got one at costco for 850 cad. I was considering the max but everywhere else sells it for 1200 cad( used ones sell for 950-1000 ) best buy had them for sale for 1100 at one point but they all ways sell out. I feel like i already got a good deal and i get around 30km on it . Gets me from home to work and back no problem and ive been using it for 7 months . I saved a couple hundred dollars not paying for parking and auto insurance. So if you live in the city i would recommend getting one ( get the max though, I feel like the extra miles on it will help) I dont k ow where people are getting them for a "$100" than the glp but if you can get them on sale then go for it
In shoes I’m over 6ft and I wear size 12’s. One of my feet is more than half the deck size. This is too small for me. I just ordered the Xiaomi Essential to get me started then I’ll upgrade to a Ninebot when I’m ready for more speed and range.
This thing is brilliant! I opted to return my E22 and buy a refurbished G30LP. This thing is so much faster and built like a TANK. Surprisingly, the lighter E22 doesn't fit in my car trunk, but the G30LP barely does because of it's reduced folded length.
Dont know why they come up with a new Max if the other one was so hard to improve on, would have been best they had the old one until they managed to break the mold again in some more years, like adding suspension or increasing range or acceleration. Just making it smaller, removing the integrated charger and reducing range does not make any sense, instead makes it a downgrade and more in line with the xiaomi.
@@Darmixo nope 👎 look on the motor (rear wheel) , if the serial number starts with a 6 it’s the old motor (not brushless ) if it starts with 9 it’s a brushless motor
@@JCKloppers Sorry, that's simply not correct. ALL modern-day eScooters employ Brushless DC Motors -all of them! The difference between the Serial 6x motors & the Serial 9x ones is mainly to do with the number of turns of wire that is used for the electromagnet for each motor segment -thereby giving each motor type a slightly different performance characteristic. -And the 'gauge' of the wire [thickness] is different too. I understand that the Serial 6x motors have greater driving power (torque) for going up steep inclines, but have slightly slower top speeds. While the 9x motors have higher top speeds but have slightly less torque available for going up steep inclines. But then, most people seem to judge how fast a scooter can go on the flat -and forget to consider how well a scooter can handle steep inclines. But this latter aspect is pretty important for people who live in hilly cities though. Cheers
I think I would prefer G30LP but it's still far from perfect, I fear that it would be near impossible for me to carry around. I was hoping this version would cut down the weight much more.
I can see why they shortened the deck. Still though. For me, the range is everything. The OG Max would still be my pick but then why spend the 800 when I can spend 300 more for the Zero 8 Pro w/ 21ah battery & seat?
It’s pretty good, but I weigh 172 lbs and carry around 20-30 pounds on me so I’m not surprised when it inches up hills. If I was 20 pounds lighter im sure it would do better
That's why you don't drive like an asshole and have plenty of lights for night time and pay close attention when you're driving in the daytime. I have been writing electric scooters for over 5 years and never hit a pothole or got into an accident ebikes are a waste of money for what you get
This is helpful as I am 6ft tall. I am looking for my 1st scooter. I am a cyclist and surprised handlebar or stem height is fixed on scooters not adjustable. Anyway the Max (taller one) is looking like the best choice for me.
I'm happy with the g30 I'm not sure what lp means maybe light power, yeah distance is key to transport from electric powered vehicles I recommend pay extra for better as you get what ya pay for .
Thank you for the review. Just got an F30 for my teenage son, and wondering now if it was the best option. He likes to ride for a few hours at times, and the F30 has an 18 mile range, and no way to hook up am external battery. Are either of these Max scooters able to use an external battery, and which would you say would be better to just cruise on daily ? He's 150 lbs and growing currently. He wants to ride longer, and also add LED lights to it.
The F30 does seem like a solid scooter, so iffy on switching it. Just a little bummed it's very limited to what it is. Battery lasted him about 40 minutes, 10-15 miles while using it in all 3 modes trying it out.
Built in fast charger is definitely another benefit of the original. You lose a lot for just a hundred bucks saving. Seriously, if you want something smaller and lighter, just go for a m365 pro
Is it just $100 though? I just purchased the newer generation for $899 and it looks like the original is $1159 on Amazon. I still feel like I made a mistake though and should have got the original :(
It seems so many ride these scooter even tho they weigh well over the 100 kg limit. I guess it is okey and it works finem but does it not take damage that you will see later? I also read somewhere that the scooter steal construction it self can take 700 KG....
I'd go with the E45. The E45 is the evolution of the original Ninebot ES series. They improved everything. Dual density tires, front/rear brakes, front spring suspension makes a return. I owned the ES1. All of these upgrades plus the good parts of the ES should make it a top quality scooter. I only wish the E45 was available in the American market.
We don't have one coming our way, that I know of. We do have a Vsett 10+ coming though. The closest thing to the Vsett 8 that we have reviewed is the Splach Turbo: ruclips.net/video/XyKM0dEBfMU/видео.html
I bought an original Ninebot Max last year, and it got stolen this year. Two months later, I bought another one, and three months later, it also got stolen. Both times, they were locked, with the difference that the first time, the lock was not completely tight. The second time, it was, though. The first time, the thieves left the lock behind. The second time, they took the lock. I just bought the Max G30LP, but this time, I do not even need a lock because I am not leaving it outside anymore. 😂😂😂
All locks, even the most expensive ones, can be defeated in under 30 seconds, whether they're picking it or cutting the lock. What cities really need to do is have lockers outside every major store that can fit folded scooters and you get a monthly subscription that allows you to use a locker anywhere at any time they are available, that can only be unlocked electronically by you. So if a locker is vacant, it gets cleared, then you activate it to use, where then no other person can access it until you clear the locker's reservation, with say 12 hours before the locker releases on its own automatically so that a person can't abuse it to tie up a locker permanently. Then when you are ready to retrieve it, you just use a personal keycard or something like that, which then automatically opens the lock and clears access for the next person to come by and use it. Have each lock setup come with a monitoring camera, along with break in alarms that automatically alert the police in case someone tries to cut into the lockers. I think people would be willing to pay $20/mo for a service like that, and yeah it's be costly to initially setup, but it's the only way we're ever going to truly have any kind of security. They also need to update the laws, treating scooter theft no different than grand theft auto, making it a felony with a $25,000 fine and 1 year mandatory prison sentence. That's a big part of the problem. The penalties are almost non-existent. Even when they recover them, they rarely even arrest the thieves, they just take the property back like it's no harm no foul.
Hello, i'm trying to figure out if i should by LP or not, but one thing worries me is slow acceleration. Is it possible to change by custom firmware? I mean, is it possible to configure to accelerate faster? Like, to have more fast start?
I will voice my complaints, since no one else seems to have any. The cruise control is awkward and difficult. While I am thankful to have a rudimentary cruise control, let's not see past what it is, which is just that, a very rudimentary cruise control. The dedication one must have to hold the throttle precisely still for the amount of time it takes the G30 to register and activate cruise control, is maddening. If it is a bumpy road you may as well forget about having cruise control. I understand you put some buttons on the G2 for turn signals. These same buttons could go on the G30P/LP as cruise control +/- and SET buttons.
ETWOW geni.us/74l8?track=web is hard to beat for both of those things. The ride isn't the smoothest, because of the solid tires. But it's light, compact and fast. -Paul
I very much doubt that. Maybe you could best the G30LP, but the original Max is not only super sturdy, but has a massive battery. It's completely removed range anxiety for me; as long as I have more than 50%, I know I can travel at least 12 miles to my job and charge at my destination. It also doesn't need a charging brick, it can be charged with a laptop power cable thanks to the built-in inverter.
The issue is laws. Many places consider anything that goes 20km or faster as a motorcycle class vehicle, so you need a motorcycle license and insurance to ride something that fast in most places. All these scooters can do more than 20, they're just artificially limited so they don't fall into that category. But to be honest, +20mph is simply a dangerous speed to ride at when you're just standing on little more than a small moving platform on 2 wheels. Even 15mph is dangerous for crashes. Even 10mph can break bones. So really, these speed issues won't change much. If you want to go faster, that's what mopeds and motorcycles are for.

The FUN to be had will for me be more that of PERSONAL SATISFACTION that I have covered the important bases I set out to. I am sure I will have FUN riding one. I still get that even riding my bike at age 76 !
I'm going to buy this on the 30th. This will be my first scooter. I hope this one is good. ☝️
Yea it’s really good for a first time scooter I highly recommend it 👍
For me, the excellent range is the main forte of Ninebot Max. So, this doesn't impress me much.
I have the original max. I am buying a second one because I love it so much. When I saw the new version come out I loved your video because it really explain the differences I am 6'2" tall and really have issues with scooters I do not fit my frame. Yeah man I think ninebot builds an incredible product I think the difference between the two scooters really comes down to size my personal recommendation is to spend the extra hundred dollars and get the original Max it is in such a solid machine I love it
I'm pretty happy with the new Model.I'm 5ft 5 in so it suits me just fine. Thank you for the review
How long have you owned it? Amazon is littered with complaints that it’s plagued with error codes?
@@KevinModz65 I just bought it but it took awhile to connect to an iPhone and I think the app isn't all its cracked up to be.....but the scooter works just fine - for now! have a good one ✌️

@@marinct3176 Hi Marin, I think you may find this new model does the trick- does for me! I love it, good to go right out of the box. happy shopping! ride safe....
How much was it?
Could we have a video about how to MOST EASILY go about FITTING REPLACEMENT tyres both front and back please ?

Just got this one on Amazon's Prime Day deal for a phenomenal price of under $500! Glad to have this as my very first e-scooter!
Good choice!
How'd you like it so far?! I just ordered mine too for 490+tax on Oct's Prime day sale!
@@satwikk9896I coincidentally bought it on Amazon Prime Day of July 11th this year and it was exactly the same price as you described!
It is simply amazing and I already have 700+ miles on it!
It helped me get on time at my 2 hour, multi-modal commute home and to work with barely any battery remaining every time I come home.
I'm looking to upgrade to an F2 Pro this Christmas to make sure the speed does not dip to 17mph when you drop below 60% battery on the G30LP.
@@satwikk9896It was amazing and reliable. I now upgraded to a Ninebot F2 Pro which is faster, more powerful and sleeker in ride quality with roughly the same range but requires more maintenance.

I’m 350 plus and I ride my max no problems and it hits 20 mph only down side It don’t get the mileage it should I get about 8-10 miles full throttle
I am 6' 230 lb, so i prefer the original Max !
So if you live in the city i would recommend getting one ( get the max though, I feel like the extra miles on it will help) I dont k ow where people are getting them for a "$100" than the glp but if you can get them on sale then go for it
Prices have really changed recently. We were just talking yesterday about how the G30 prices have gone up. -Paul
I prefer the original ninebot max g30 for its bigger body and longer range
I’m 68yrs old and the orig max sounds great. Are there shopping baskets that can fit onto these like we did on scooters years ago ?
Is the G30LP different from the G30LE please?
I would have to say that Segway agree’s with your final thoughts on the two Scooters as they still charge more for the original.
Yes all prices have risen recently! -Vosk
In shoes I’m over 6ft and I wear size 12’s. One of my feet is more than half the deck size. This is too small for me. I just ordered the Xiaomi Essential to get me started then I’ll upgrade to a Ninebot when I’m ready for more speed and range.
I think that is a smart choice.
I scored the G30LP, helmet and phone mount for $515 from Segway’s site. For the 500 price tag, it was a no brainer.
Awesome! Great deal for sure. -Vosk
Just bought one yesterday on amazon for 537 my first ever cant wait
This thing is brilliant! I opted to return my E22 and buy a refurbished G30LP. This thing is so much faster and built like a TANK.
Surprisingly, the lighter E22 doesn't fit in my car trunk, but the G30LP barely does because of it's reduced folded length.
Right on! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
@Dario Ramirez ~ I absolutely agree with everything you said! This new scooter is a downgrade 👎🏽
Motor is brushless , much better
@@JCKloppers wasn’t it already?
Cheers

Same. As a woman searching, it's elusive. It's so much wear and tear hauling 40 lbs around for us, not so much for my male friends.
You can buy battery upgrades and suspension kits for the max, and lp.

I also prefer the increase in mileage ....... 40 is quite a help when going the distance.
The original one has a longer range
So it’s a great scooter but I have heard drum breaks are not good in cold or below freezing temps, meaning I really can’t trust it during winter
Not the best during winter! -Vosk
Bought 3 from Costco for $850 cad (each)... No brainer !
Step up to an e-bike. It’s safer and you can pedal assist. Those tiny wheels are fun until you hit a reasonable pothole. Bigger wheels = more safe.
They are very similar in height! Max a but taller
Just bought one. But what's the best lock?
Just got this but returning it for the big one. I’m small, but the board is too small for me for long rides.
The original is the best I love it. Is powerful
I'm happy with the g30 I'm not sure what lp means maybe light power, yeah distance is key to transport from electric powered vehicles I recommend pay extra for better as you get what ya pay for .
Thanks for the feedback
how long does the battery lasts? i mean, how many times you can charge it? is it possible to change a battery later after some years for a fresh one?
Awesome! Enjoy your new scooter. -Vosk

Totally makes sense. Do you know what sort of range you get out of a full charge? Probably more than I got! -Paul
Is there a way to increase the speed going up hills?
It seems so many ride these scooter even tho they weigh well over the 100 kg limit. I guess it is okey and it works finem but does it not take damage that you will see later?
I also read somewhere that the scooter steal construction it self can take 700 KG....
I wanted to know what charger do you get if yours breaks for the LP
On Amazon people the description says 25kph but also say 18mph
Goes around 17mph
I just got a refurbished G30LP and it has 25 miles of range. Did they update the battery to provide the extra range since this review?
We have not!
Will it fit in a 2021 Mazda MX five Miata truck ?
Any suggestions on how to get the E15 error warning fixed on the G30 max
Factory reset
Can you perhaps do another video for the gotrax XR elite and a cheap electric scooter that you can pull the handle bar down like a motorcycle
Torn between this and the new E45. Anyone have any thoughts to help me decide (outside of the obvious specs)?
I'd go with the E45. The E45 is the evolution of the original Ninebot ES series. They improved everything. Dual density tires, front/rear brakes, front spring suspension makes a return. I owned the ES1. All of these upgrades plus the good parts of the ES should make it a top quality scooter. I only wish the E45 was available in the American market.
Is it possible you can do a review, on the "Vsett 8"?
We don't have one coming our way, that I know of. We do have a Vsett 10+ coming though. The closest thing to the Vsett 8 that we have reviewed is the Splach Turbo: ruclips.net/video/XyKM0dEBfMU/видео.html
please review the F40!!
We will try our best! Thanks for the suggestion. -Vosk
That is horrible! Very sad to hear that. Unfortunately burglary is a big issue.
Never mentioned if it had regenerate braking/E Braking....or bluetooth

Hello, i'm trying to figure out if i should by LP or not, but one thing worries me is slow acceleration. Is it possible to change by custom firmware? I mean, is it possible to configure to accelerate faster? Like, to have more fast start?
It’s a good scooter but many newer scooters have been released
I will voice my complaints, since no one else seems to have any. The cruise control is awkward and difficult. While I am thankful to have a rudimentary cruise control, let's not see past what it is, which is just that, a very rudimentary cruise control. The dedication one must have to hold the throttle precisely still for the amount of time it takes the G30 to register and activate cruise control, is maddening. If it is a bumpy road you may as well forget about having cruise control. I understand you put some buttons on the G2 for turn signals. These same buttons could go on the G30P/LP as cruise control +/- and SET buttons.
Thanks for the insights!

How can you not mention the motor 😂
When you say it’s perfect for you, can you say your height and weight?
I can buy two
I very much doubt that.
Whoever thought having brakes up front would cause an OTB have never done an emergency stop on a bicycle
Muy buen scooter y bonito diseño, yo tengo este modelo, excelente scooter
Is the 20 km per hour too slow? What do you guys think about the speed? Can it be sped up?
It’s decent for strolling but you will want to go faster later down the line
-Vosk
How can I increase the speed?
Between this and Xiaomi pro 2? Pro2 has more range in paper but in real life has much more then nine g30 LP?
We have not tested the pro 2! -Vosk
