I remember and always will cherish the nights I went to MLG to watch the Leafs way up in the greys. I didn't care, as 12-16 year old I loved each and every moment.

My union helped build the Gardens, he couldn't pay so he gave us stock. We proudly display then in the lobby. I used to sneak into the gardens from time to time on my lunch break when I was downtown ( I wasn't even a kid lol) I miss going there a lot. I am glad I had a chance to take my son there. I still shed a tear when oh Canada is played on Saturday night. I hope to see then win one more Cup before I go. I was a lil' kid last time, probably still react the same way. Go Leafs Go

I'm not surprised Pat Hickey didn't get much of a standing ovation since he was part of that infamous Lanny McDonald trade.Speaking of which, trading him and Sittler certainly was instrumental in setting the franchise back 10 years.

It came full circle. The Blackhawks won the first game in 1931 and the last in 1999

And there's nobody like Foster Hewitt he did a great job unfortunately he wasn't cheering for the Blackhawks so we can't hold that against him can we

battalionfan888: thanks for the entire video of the closing of MLG! As a hockey fan from Pittsburgh (and one of the few African-Americans who know hockey), can you upload the Mellon Arena farewell, which will be 4/8/10 against the Islanders?

i'm a hard core bruins fan, but most importantly i'm a hockey purist. its really sad none of the old houses of hockey are left. i have the framed print by Maple Leaf Productions of the original 6 arenas, although it was done before MLG closed.

Is anyone surprised no one is cheering and most are booing those 80s players save for some of the stars that stuck around for a while?
