Imo, Kate asked Jack if he could put the marshal out of his misery for the right reasons.
His death would obviously be very 'convenient' for her as well, but I don't believe this is her primary motivation.
If we look at the evidence so far, she saved Ray Mullins (the farmer) from the burning car and wanted him to get his reward (even after he turned her in), she put the oxygen mask on the marshal during the crash, she reassured Charlie that he wasn't a coward.
She really doesn't seem like a terrible person.
With LOST (and life!), it's always best to look at what we are shown, rather than just listen to what someone else (in this case, the marshal) tells us.
Great reaction, glad you are loving the show!
Sawyer was on the double paintball episode on Community, he was the black rider
Cant wait for next episode. Ep. 3 "Walkabout" is what made me binge like there was no tomorrow.
It's a great episode, but it's 4, not 3.
This is such a perfect episode that encompasses all that LOST is…
Frustration at Kate not telling Jack (always a mystery, always waiting for an answer… makes for GREAT payoffs!)
Moments of levity at the end followed by sinister Locke vibes (the music pays such a HUGE part of the storytelling😍)
Can't wait for episode 4!
lol everyone's response is always "well I wanna know, Jack!"
I guess the original plan for the Jack character was that he wasn't even gonna make it past the first episode. This was cause they reportedly wanted to cast Michael Keaton in the role. Getting killed off in the pilot would've allowed Keaton to work on a tv show and not have to commit to moving to Hawaii as most Lost cast members had to. The decision to keep Jack alive changed the pilot and the show itself as I couldn't imagine this show working without Jack.
Didn’t know you were watching this… Such a classic. Enjoy!
This show gets SOOO GOOOOD!
You are correct, the first flight after watching Lost is scarier than normal, full of PTSD that isn’t even yours 😅
I saw a guy at the airport once wearing a Lost shirt and jokingly said to my friend “that’s an ill omen, I hope he’s not on our flight.” He was sitting directly behind us on our flight. 😂
@@SurrealVerdoux I wonder if that was me. I wear a LOST shirt for every flight. I'm always hoping fellow Losties will chit chat about the show with me, but so far, nobody has.
The actor, Nick Tate, who plays the old farmer starred in a 1970s series: "Space 1999". The story of the occupants of a lunar base lost in space when the Moon was ejected from Earth's orbit.
In French, we have kept an expression coming from the Latin Tabula Rasa : "faire table rase", that is to say, erase everything to start from scratch.
Whoah! How on Earth did I never pick up on THAT??
One of the best aspects of this show is the final shot and the musical accent that just shouts "cliffhanger", every episode! What do you do with that? What else can you do but binge ahead to the next episode?
"A miracle happened here? What does that mean?" *grins in Episode 4* You know now.
Sun and Jin have subtitles when they are alone. Usually when they are around other people we don’t see what they are saying, sort of putting us in the position of the other characters.
keeping you hooked on the mysteries is indeed what this show did masterfully. i binge-watched seasons 1-4 in like a week, and then watched seasons 5 and 6 religiously on tv as they aired. it was an unmissable weekly event for my group of friends.
Me too. I rented the DVDs season 1-3 from my local video store. Watched season 4 on the ABC website. All of that happened in under 2 weeks. Season 5-6 on TV live, never missed it.
ME TOO! Exactly the same seasons. I had a buyer, uh, customer, uh, friend who woofer worked at Blockbuster, and she had convinced me of how great it was. So she let me rent the first four seasons for free. I went through 'em pretty quick. By the time I was done, season five had already started, so I had to DL the first half of it but was able to watch it "live" when it came back from its mid-season break. I was so awestruck from the very first episode until the...

I was a little more extensive in my watching, since I started watching when the show was first broadcast. I would record every episode on my dvr, watch it live, then immediately afterward, watch it again off the dvr. Then, after the blu-rays were released, usually about a month before the start of the next season, I would binge all of the previous seasons. So, by the end of Season 6, I had seen every episode at least 7 times.
meant to say that I had seen every season 1 episode at least 7 times by the time "Lost" ended.
Great reaction 😊 Sayid is Iraqi
Not too deep of a dive in your after show summary. I mean, we kind of learned some things. Kate may be wanted but, she doesn't really seem to be an evil person. She put the oxygen mask on the Marshall during the plane crash, and she pulled Ray from the burning truck, instead of just leaving him there and running off.
Loving this series
🌴❤️🌴
Spoiler: Vincent IS a good boy.
Actually, Vincent was a female named "Madison".

Kate’s flashbacks are some of my least favorite. Kate’s great though on the island.
