Half the time, it seemed like he was cutting Pearl off mid stride to inject some 'witty' comment, derailing the "discussion".
Worse, though, is giving this woman a platform to speak when she's done absolutely nothing to show that she's reformed or whatever. She made a claim, sure, but has no track record to back it up. What message does that send to everyone? How many good people out there have years of good works behind them, yet get no attention from the likes of TDW, and certainly don't get invited on the show.
That, I think, is where conservatives really fall short. We don't take care of our own, but we'll be real quick to embrace someone from the other team who gives the slightest hint that they might agree with some talking point.

@@thereallazygirlwell the vast majority of pastors don’t make that money, if you’re talking about tv evangelists maybe but most pastors do a ton of community service, free counseling, manage food drives, visit people in the hospital, and a ton of other stuff and usually get an average income for the time spent. The vast majority of the money goes towards upkeep, bills, paying staff who do that, and covering the time they have to spend there and can’t spend on a regular job. What exactly do you do for people? Quite a few pastors I’ve seen due basically a ton of overtime and if they do get paid well it’s because they are better speakers and can draw a crowd like any other speaker. There are levels like anything and some earn more because they inspire more and others do less. But why an athelet should be paid radically more than a firefighter or soldier while a pastor who has learned how to speak well and poured energy into inspiring people shouldn’t get paid well seems stupid. It’s not immoral or evil to earn a good living if you’re good at that, the actual verse in the Bible meant greed is the root of evil not just money itself. Now if you think that teaching is somehow wrong that’s dependent on your perspective but many have reported it saving their lives and inspiring them and not everyone connects to stuff. There are thought leaders and teachers and speakers considered amazing that not everyone benefits as much from or can’t comprehend. And there are products and other things people pay for that seem far less useful. I mean to me doctors are far more greedy and corrupt and so are so many other people so I don’t k is why just the church would get extreme criticism while other groups are forgiven more easily or treated like they aren’t all bad due to some being bad.

This is especially true when you were getting rewarded for years doing the behavior that everyone agrees is bad. If I did drugs for years and someone paid me millions of dollars for it, when I claimed one day to be completely sober everyone would rightly be skeptical and cynical. I don't understand, she has a point by saying she wouldn't take it back (probably could've phrase it better) I've done many shameful things and I regret every single one but God also grew me through that. We wouldn't be the people we are if not for trials and failures. She is a new Christian and I can tell she has a ways to go but I feel it's a better use of our time trying to encourage her and help grow and mature in the faith, rather than telling her she's still a bad person. She still has things she's holding on to and it's hard to let go especially as a young believer. But I still believe she deserves support, not to say we don't call her out but in a loving way because we have the opportunity to help grow a believer. If God wants to continue growing her he will but I don't want to be one of the voices saying she can't change.
