Ko Uchi Gari - Minor Inner Reaping Throw

  • Here's our sequence we use to teach a basic Ko Uchi Gari. We find that learning foot sweeps in sequences make them easier to digest and easier to teach.
    Here are the cues we're looking for when teaching Ko Uchi Gari:
    - step to the top of the L
    - 2nd foot steps and we pull our partner forward with our sleeve grip
    - lapel hand makes a "shield" motion keep our partner close
    - pop the foot stepping forward with the bottom of our foot in the direction of their toes

    Thank you so much for this because I have been waiting to find something that actually works because a lot of the people who taught this did it in such a way that the person getting sweeped purposely kept their foot in the air for longer than needed which wasn't an actual step. I highly appreciate this realistic video.🙏

    Would this be adapted into the street if you’re opponent throws an upper cut punch?
