Oh hell yeah, trips for nogi by the placid man, AND explenations WHY things work or don’t.. Sign me up! There’s a niche to fill here and it’d be beautiful if you filled it! John does it, but he’s just so deep his stuff is mostly targetted at high level players. I’m talking about the meta stuff, like you said here WHY go for an underhook, why it’s powerful. Explain the broad reasoning of grappling is what I’m trying to say I guess 🙂 Also, great to see you able to breathe and talk instead of praying that John doesn’t go off on a tangent while crushing you in a demonstration 😂
I've been studying martial arts most my life. Have more wrestling than judo but totally understand it and I see judo as a great way for a traditional wrestler, and mma fighter too to get an advantage. Plus it's a bit more beautiful and involves a bit more balance . I love to see judo and sometimes some jiu-jitsu in wrestling
When you do that mini back step into the uke goshi the movement looks very similar to that of an uchi mata… How does the Uke Goshi differ from the uchi mata in this context?
uchi mata is inner thigh reaping throw typically characterized by a lifting leg that is reaping in between your opponents legs. Uki goshi is a half hip/floating hip throw, characterized with a hip action on your opponents hip.
@@PlaciSantos Oh I was unaware of this slight, but major, difference. So what you are saying is in an Uchi mata our lifting leg is suppose to reap our opponents leg, however in an Uki goshi we make impact on our opponent's hip wit ours?
For those Jiu-jitsu guys who need help with their wrestling, I highly recommend Iron Faith Wrestling's RUclips channel.
Same!
