Thank you so much! I just downloaded it. I've always wanted to experience what Mardi Gras would be like, but could never afford the trip. I think I'm going to get the full experience by trying to mix my first Hurricane so I can enjoy it while watching this. Ah, to get smashed while watching an 8k 3D 180 VR video. What strange times we live in!

That’s the beauty of 8k 3D 180 travel experiences :D Happy to hear this! Haha a hurricane sounds like the perfect pairing as it is the most iconic New Orleans drink. That’s gotta be the ultimate next level of immersion drinking a hurricane while experiencing Mardi Gras.
If I had to choose a second drink choice, I would say the “hand grenade” drink was another extremely popular drink at Mardi Gras (That’s why those two people holding the bourbon street sign in the first few scenes were dressed up with “hand grenades”)

Oh wow thanks for letting me know, this is great news! Yeah I imagine streaming compression will lower quality vs the patreon direct download uncompressed version but at least its 8k 3D 180 streaming finally :o
I will get to work on creating a paid channel membership very soon so that people will have the option to watch the full length versions streaming on RUclips VR in 8k without the need for patreon direct download :D I'll set it up in the same way the patreon is setup.

Was just able to check on my Quest 3 and it is still showing as 4k and not 8k unfortunately. I only see the 4k (2160s60) option on my end. Can you confirm that you are seeing 8k (4096) option on your end?

I believe you but I can’t for the life of me get it to stream my content in 8k like you are. I am on V 63.00 , perhaps it is region locked or maybe you are on 63.1?

Great video but too many cuts. As slice of life and especially for VR I would have expected many minutes ongoing footage to become fully immersed, that way it feels more like a big 3D screen. Furthermore 360° would be far more immersive. Quality is no real reason since you can get the same quality with an Ai upscaled Pro 2 or native Titan (just need a PC for reading the video files and stream it via PCVR until Quest 4 is able to stream it natively. So your arguments about best quality are just none in my opinion since even this quality will be bad in a few years so it is more about the FOV - the rest is and will be able to be increased with Ai etc. But Ai can't recreate the other side of the video. So for me I wouldn't buy these videos since even a 1-RS 2D 360° video feels more immersive when filmed above head while walking.

This is a 8 min preview cut of a 56 minute full length immersive experience. The full length version has many deleted and extended scenes to give the viewer that fully immersed feeling you are talking about. You can't expect a short preview to do justice to the immersiveness of the full length version.
There are many drawbacks to your argument in my opinion. To start, AI upscaling can enhance perceived resolution but it will never be true to life and native resolution will always be superior. AI upscaling does not preserve and actually lowers dynamic range/color as well as introduces artifacts and details that are not true to life.
I also believe 180 3D will always be better that 360. Resolution for both formats will continue to increase in tandem. When 360 finally goes to 16k, so will 180. Even if it costs $20k USD I will be the first in line to buy whatever cutting edge 16k 3D 180 camera they come out with. Because this channel was founded on having the absolute best quality in the world, and I will always uphold that standard.
Unfortunately, 360 will still be using half of the 16k resolution on the back half of the image, while 180 will concentrate that 16k into a 180 FOV. You will need 32k 360 resolution just to match 16k 180 resolution, and that is far far far in the future... at which point I will be filming in 32k 180 and 360 will still be behind the curve.
Finally, most viewers would rather all the action happening in the front half of them, they do not want to have to search for the action. Any movement in a 360 video is impossible to achieve. What happens when you go from a stationary to moving scene? If the viewer is looking in any direction during the stationary scene other than the direction of movement of the next scene, then the viewer will get motion sick. With 180, you can guarantee the viewer will always be looking within about 90 degrees of the movement of the next scene and they will have time to look in the correct direction.
