Put ceramicspeed cage on two of my bikes , definitely didn't feel any difference , just done it because I like the look of it 🔥🔥 nice video again dude 👌
Sounds like everyone is have the same. Feels no different but if you like the look, it adds a lot of character to the bike. I’m going to keep mine on. The bike would look naked without it now. I appreciate the kind words 🙌🏼
@cyclingunboxed definitely adds some character,.did look odd at first then i got use to the size 🤣 had one of them painted the matt black to match the rear mech , then the ceramic speed logo painted on in the same colour as the decals on the frame 👌 bit sad but it does blend everything together nicely
Nah, not sad at all. Why not make it match and look good. I think some people find it too much but I think it’s just a sign of how much you like your bike. And if you enjoy it then all the more reason to do it
Rear mechs operate at their best with their stock from factory cage, especially regards gear changing. Put your trust in Shimano/Sram/Campag etc , would an aftermarket company that's 5mins old really know better than Campag since 1933,Shimano since the 60s,Sram since 2009.
For the rear derailleur itself, I would totally agree. But like I said in the video. After the chain was the perfect length again, there was just no perceivable difference in shifting from having a different cage on there. Worked exactly the same as far as I could feel.
I just ordered a Nova Ride for my Canyon Grail. I'm a complete amateur, but I love this kind of jewelry on a bike. For me, a bike is a hobby, just like a car for others. And very good price not like Ceramicspeed . Cool video.
How's the Nova Ride OSPW holding after you've posted this video? Are you still using it or back to the original cage? I'm thinking about buying 1 for my 105 R700 as it's far more beneficial than just replacing the pulley wheels. I take it no issues with shiftings & unwanted noises too?
Exactly the same to be honest. I just like the way it looks. Shifting is exactly the same as far as I am concerned. Noises also the same. If I had to say, maybe very very marginally louder as the pulleys are aluminium rather than plastic. But nothing that has ever caught my attention so I don’t think so. I hope that helps a bit!
@@cyclingunboxed it helps a lot thanks kindly. In fact, I've ordered one in gold to mix match with my purple frame. I'm just wondering though will it be worth it to match the chain colour too? I'm trying to get KMC gold, but it's not as good as Shimano I've heard...
@@cyclingunboxed ah right gotcha...finally the gut feeling and all the opinions actually are in unison. I'll stick with Shimano chain, just have to shiny it up again so it'll look bright silverish again. By the way did you replace your chain to a new one when you install the OSPW? Nova Ride stated that. My mechanic told me don't waste the money as the chain is just 2 months old or so...
I would put it on first and shift to big big. If it can’t get up into the biggest at the back then yea, you will likely need 2-4 links longer. If it does but it’s noisy then adjust the b screw and no need for a new chain yet. I kept mine the same length in the end
They certainly look cool, but there's no [noticeable] performance gain. If anything, there's more lateral play in the device, but I haven't noticed any decrease in shifting performance from it.
It is definitely an aesthetic upgrade. I think for the top end of performance it can make a difference but I think for 9/10 people it really doesn’t matter. I must say though, I do like the way that it looks
CORRECTION! It does work! Upgrading to a ceramic OSPW without upgrading your Bottom Bracket will not work efficiently at all and other components. I upgraded my previous Jockey to CeramicSpeed OSPW, Upgraded from Praxis to CeramicSpeed Bottom Bracket, Also Upgraded my chain to KMC DLC AAANNNDDDD Upgrade my wheels to DT Swiss ARC 1400. Now my bike is FLYYYYYYING, So It WORKS!
Hi, really like your videos and have one very important question. Your saddle bag, I really like how it fits tight to the saddle. Can you cure my jealousy and tell me what brand and model it is? Regards from Sweden
Thank for watching! I appreciate it. This one is from Silca (Silca Mattone). It’s a really good size to fit everything I need and stays dry inside. If you want something slimmer I also use the Lumiere.co saddle bag on other bikes. I prefer the ratchet design (very similar to silca), comes in more colours and cheaper. I hope that helps!
Literally zero difference! Done about 20,000k (roughly) on both and I can tell any difference. If anything, the 12s has more consistency in hooking up quicker going into the big ring but it’s so marginal that it’s nit picking.
you forgot also to mention that making something bigger on your bike usually helps compensating if you have something else small.... just joking.. good content!
I don't have this kind of pulley so I agree, it is just a Placebo effect. Money grab marketing tactic....I'll put my money (for upgrades) for something else.
@@cyclingunboxed I didn’t mention I didn’t like it, just felt no difference. If that is possible at all. With for instance tyres, wheels etc. you can sense a difference. Just my opinion.
I came to the same conclusion. I think with a (properly) clean chain or a waxed chain there is soo little gain that it would be immeasurable. I do personally like the way the look. They add some character to the bike but it’s not for everyone

I am of the same opinion. If you like the way it looks, go for it, it adds colour and character to a bike and makes it more personal.
Silca waxed chain with Nova Ride OSPW and Nova Ride bottom bracket are silky smooth.

The chain doesn’t shift quite as nicely as all the shimano parts but I think it’s close enough from the ones I have used in the past

Thanx, ordered two Lumiere bags for road and gravel👍😀
Hi, how do you find the shifting with the 12 speed crankset and the 11 speed group set?
Literally zero difference! Done about 20,000k (roughly) on both and I can tell any difference. If anything, the 12s has more consistency in hooking up quicker going into the big ring but it’s so marginal that it’s nit picking.
Thanks mate, got 11 speed, but need a new crankset, so thought I’d get the 12 speed for a little future proofing. Definitely will now!
Tripeak has some really cool locking and not that expensive option which works great!!
(Don’t know of the gains )
Looks like quite an innovative solution to go onto the stock derailleur

Yea, my small FTP 😂
I don't have this kind of pulley so I agree, it is just a Placebo effect. Money grab marketing tactic....I'll put my money (for upgrades) for something else.
Had a CS DA one (was on the bike). Better spent your money on a better upgrade.
Please could you fill me in as to why you didn’t like it?
So far no issues on this one with about 1000km on it

First….
Expensive price. Cheap look.
