- A PORTABLE PRESSURE WASHER SETUP will come in handy for professionals in a variety of ways that I discuss in this video. We provide training for new pressure washing start ups and explain things like fittings, quick connect, hose management, and nozzle choices. We also explain the value of installing a ball valve to help save time on the job. Thank you for watching and please do us favor! Be sure and comment with any questions you might have, and feel free to share the video with others who might benefit from the content.

Happy to help!
Love your content and demeanor sir. Blessings to you and yours!
Nothing better then keeping it simple great video
Thank you. That’s is my goal w every video.
Thank you for the priceless content/training 👍
Very welcome. Glad it helps.
Great video Dough tank you! Great tips !
Very welcome
Hello Mr Doug! First of all thank you for another great video! I noticed you have a flexzilla air hose . That's the one that you hook to the spiket to draw water for the pump. I saw there are garden hose options available too for flexilla hoses and they look the same.
Yes we use the 5/8 garden hose for water fill up and also on a 12v soft wash pump I’ve been using and testing. The 1/2 air hose we use for the Kingslinger soft wash system.
Nice video . One thing I do when I’m finished washing is I’ll turn off the gas ⛽️ and let the Machine die out at the end of the day .
Great tip....I do this on my smaller pressure washers and larger air compressors, but for some reason I have never done it on this one but it is always a good idea to do this. Especially if gas is going to be sitting in the carb for a long time.
I just bought my initial startup equipment and the first thing I’ve received is my ball valve. I’m super stoked to get started, though I did order a direct drive machine, it’s only a 4 gpm. Also have jrod on the way. Definitely going to be getting the shut off valve for water hose at the machine though! That’s a great idea
If yiu do the 3 way just make sure machine is shut off because it will cut the water supply off to your machine if your not using a buffer tank.
@@PressureCleaningSch would I still need to run a separate pump for a buffer tank on a 4gpm or do you think gravity would suffice? Unfortunately it’s not a belt drive 😬
@@joeberner648 if it’s not belt drive I doubt it will gravity feed.
@@PressureCleaningSch I don't understand how will the J rod cut the water supply from the pressure washer ?
@@peacemaker0071 it won't cut the water supply. The higher pressure nozzles will prevent the downstream injector from pulling the bleach, because they restore the pressure back from using the lower pressure nozzles.
Always great teaching videos Mr. Doug, I currently have a 4gpm direct drive machine and recently installed in my truck a hose reel with 200 ft hose and I barely notice any loos on pressure. I'm thinking on upgrading to a 5gpm belt drive machine because I believe direct drive can't pull water out the water tank. Is that correct?
That is Correct. They usually can’t create enough vacuum to pull the water
@@PressureCleaningSch hey Doug what pump do you have ? I also have a 4gallon that pulls the water out of a tank
Bryan Kaczmarek the one on that machine is a Cat.
@@PressureCleaningSch thanks I appreciate it. Have a good day stay safe brother.
I’ve seen the j-rods on videos but never saw how they actually work.
I like it.
I’m retiring in a few months and plan on doing some house washing as well as lawn care a few days a week.
Your videos are giving me a wealth of knowledge.
My current unit is a commercial style 3 gpm pump with a Honda GX 200 engine.
I’m certain I’ll need to upgrade to 4 gpm with a Honda GX 390
4GPm definitely Will make a big difference.
Where did you find the setup to add the hose reel on the cart/washer? Did you have it custom fabricated?
Brent Ville it’s on option on the pressure washers we sell.
Hey Doug, regarding the water feed shutoff valve: I installed the ball valve to the feed hose, followed by a quick-release between the valve and the pump. That way, you can kill the motor, shutoff the feed flow with the valve, detach the feed hose from the machine and then attach a garden sprayer or other attachment to the hose (for cleanup, etc). Is there a problem with this arrangement? It made more initial sense to me, but not sure If I’m overlooking something.
Sounds good to me. I can’t see anything wrong with it. As long as machine is getting water and tank too when they need it.
Is a 3/4 bulkhead on buffer tank enough for a 5.5 pump or a 1” is better ?
3/4 is good
Great video thanks! Quick question: Could I use your 4GPM JROD from your shop on my 2.5GPM pressure washer? Is that 4GPM JROD more of a threshold or will it not be compatible with a lower GPM machine?
I would try the 3GPM option before I try the 4. But neither will get you max performance w a 2.5GPM
@@PressureCleaningSch thanks for the response!
Love the videos Doug. Quick question…just getting started and my Simpson 3200 has a built in “injector”. Do you recommend using that? Or should I purchase an after market one? Thank you!
I’d try using that one first and go with till it wears out
@@PressureCleaningSch thank you Doug! Appreciate your fast response and all of your content!
Doug- I run a fence/deck staining business. I use a small, portable 2.6 gpm pressure washer with an AR pump for prepping the wood. What do you think would be the easiest method to apply a 2-3% SH solution? I’ve tried using an X-jet but it’s not easy to use when doing two sides of a fence. Thanks!
Hey Kyle, either using a pump up sprayer or using a dedicated 12V Pump. If you can use the pressure washer that may also get you close to 2% or at least strong enough to change the color of the algae on the fence.
Thanks Doug! The pump up sprayer is a little inefficient when doing a big fence and I don’t have the ability to get a 12v system just yet. Using what I have…..
Does using a down stream injector cut the SH percentage in half like using an Xjet with no proportioner?
Can you remove the pressure washing engine from the cart and mount on your truck?
Yes. But I’d leave it on the skid. Just remove the handle and wheels
Do you sell the key star for the Honda 390?
Separatley by itself, no we do not.
Do you find that you'd charge extra to soft wash someones house, if its been like 20 years since they've cleaned it and it's really bad. I've heard people charging .20-.30cents a square foot for soft washing a house, but that's just spraying chemical on it, then rinsing off. Some of these houses in east texas are like ridiculous man, the bottom 4ft of them are black/green/and orange with mold and iron ore rust. Some area's i have to spray straight bleach with chemical sprayer, let sit, then scrub with a brush, rinse it off, then repeat the process.
I don’t necessarily charge extra because I’m soft washing. I charge based on what the job dictates. On something like what you’re describing yes I would be charging a lot more than say a house that’s routinely cleaned
Can you get five and a half gallon per minute on a homeowner Supply wate
Really depends on their service. It’s rare to get over 4
