@@goobeeeer I think one big issue is that when Mahito touched Nanami, a Grade 1 sorcerer, he literally exploded on screen. When he touched a Grade 3 Sorcererer (Nobara) directly on the head, only a small segment of her face blew off and it wasnt even facing the viewer. Then we no longer see her on screen but then Arata shows up with his ability saying he potentially stopped her wounds from growing. So honestly I think the simple lack of detail involved in her death implies her status is ambiguous.
I think what Gege means by Gojo lost is the writer phenomenon of characters taking on their own lives. Its a weird thing that happens where if you have spent enough time with a character, you kinda go on autopilot, and the words just fall onto the page for them. You are not even aware of what you are writing at the time. The ideas just fall onto the page, and you only discover what you wrote when you read it back.
Gonna be honest, I'm quickly becoming less and less interested in JJK as a whole with a lot of information that is completely vague in the manga (with hopes to get answers later on) only for these questions to be answered outside of it. Just seems a bit disappointing.
Not quite, he said she was dead (clinically), but he also said Nitta could save her since she was barely dead, which is not a confirmation at all. Then megumi "confirmed" in the most ambigous way that she died, but the Weekly Shonen Jump released a list with the characters and their current state during the culling games arc, Mai, Nanami, Yaga, etc. were stated dead, but Nobara was mentioned as injured. I feel like there's only two explanations for those words, it's either taken out of context or he regretted leaving the door open and refused to develop that idea, which I consider stupid, he's a great writer and that's not something a great writer would do
@@CamiloLopez-zg1tfHe makes mistakes, I too think he’s a great writer, and I’m not criticising here cus I’m a Gojo fan, (love Sukuna) but it doesn’t feel like he’s lying here, I feel he considers his treatment of Nobara a bit of a mistake and would just like to move on. @@CamiloLopez-zg1tfhe's not a great writer. He's got obvious flaws in his writings, he leaves important characters out of the story without explanation and reintroduces them unceremoniously, the obvious example being todo. But he's great at writing logic and ins and outs of technical details.
@@renatobregu First of all, Gege lies all the time, he states every year that the manga is gonna end soon but it never ends. The thing is that now that I think about it, I feel like people are just taking the word depart out of context, technically she DID die in Shibuya and he even explained it a while ago. The thing is that he also said she could be revived as I said, so even if he's not wrong by saying she died as Nanami in Shibuya, she still had a chance to make it through and that hasn't been explained. Also, even if the story feels like it's ending, it's not, there's still room for a lot.
@@selfportrait8363 That's why I was thinking Nobara would come back, actually. BECAUSE of Todo. Like, if we're able to throw out literally everyone that has shown up even a little in the series, even characters who were firmly set up to be now out of commission (Todo), Nobara should logically have a shot too since she was never explicitly said to be dead in the source.
It isn’t that random the last times she’s mentioned is when Yuji asks Megumi about her and Megumi doesn’t say anything with him saying “I get it”. The next time she was brought up was when Yuji talked about Hana and him not being comfortable with the idea that’s she’s replaced Nobara, so going from that to Hana replacing Nobara to me it seemed clear that she was dead. And it’s been years since with nothing else.
There is a world where Gege genuinely thought that the way Yuji asked about Nobara and after receiving silence says "I get it" was a good enough confirmation, and therefore now commented on it like it was something said and done.
Honestly, Nobara’s death , yuki ‘s wasted potential and Tsumiki’s lack of backstory are probably the 3 most egregious examples of Gege just doing plain bad writing. And I say this as someone who loves JJK
I hate how the author is playing with his characters, "I don’t really care about him/her, I just wanted to make him look like *****" LIKE JUST SHUT UP AND GIVE TO ALL YOUR CHARACTERS A ROLE IN YOUR MANGA💀

@@nataliawashington872 yes precisely, he knew what he wanted and didn’t need to be the world’s strongest sorcerer to the thing he wanted to do most, just because megumi doesn’t have the coolest fight scenes doesn’t make him a bad character in the slightest
Looking back, gege said something along the lines of departing from nobara in shibuya. Depart means to leave as if for a journey, not kill. They left nobara to recover in shibuya, then continued the journey onwards towards the culling games. Yuji doesnt know the details of their plans so in his Domain Expansion, he very much believed Nobara was dead. We'll see who else can possibly make their return.
What Gege said doesn't necessarily mean Nobara's dead. Emphasis on the word "departed". It could very well mean dead, as is the case with Nanami, but it could just as well mean gone from the story, which, for all intents and purposes, she'll most likely be, even if she is alive. At this point in the story her only shot of showing up again would be in the epilogue (if there's gonna be one) or at the very earliest after the battle against Sukuna is over, since if she were to participate she'd just be dead weight. So yeah, maybe it's a translation matter, but I wouldn't say it's completely Nobarover quite yet.
Her showing up in the end is just more disrespectful and makes no sense to make readers wonder about her status for that. Like you're telling me all this ambiguity is... for a panel with her in the epilogue ? I think Gege should've just decided what he really wanted to do with Nobara from shibuya, the fact it took him this long to drop such a bombshell is comical.
I wouldnt say dead weight. I replied to someone else about this but this was the important part as far as your comment is concerned. Let Yugo/Gota fail the current purple, set up another, Sukuna bragging bullshit, SUDDENLY SPIKES (Mahito fight callback), flashback sequence where the hell she has been culminating with her resonance attack thru Yuji.
@@aba7968 I think her status as dead could be assumed as early as in Hana's introduction in the culling games, when Itadori says he's afraid that she could replace Nobara, why would he say that if Nobara was alive?
@@ovozeador I mean the panel with Megumi can imply she's dead depending on your interpretation but that not the point, he gave her an out to survive through Nitta so the most feasible way to handle it is to outright confirm it.
Nobara being dead was never uncertain, it was literally seen in panels and later implied by everyone when Yuji asked. The only reason no one said anything would be because Nobara wanted to pay Yuji back for not telling anything when he came back, but to be honest there would not be much to add to the current story if she does come back, so it doesn't makes too much sense if she is alive.
I don't think she'd add nothing tbh, she'd be more of a morale boost for Yuji I think. Also, she'd definitely be able to abuse the hell out of the fact that Sukuna's limbs are being laid out all over the battlefield each time he's cut up. Third, to say it wasn't vague is kinda a lie, Megumi gave Yuji the same reaction that he'd give if he asked about his sister or something.
First of all, it IS uncertain, Gege said she was dead but then said she could be saved it Nitta did the right procedure, then about the "confirmation" from Megumi, it is so ambigous it has many valid interpretations, and a few chapters later the Weekly Shonen Jump published a list with the characters current status during the Culling games arc, Nanami, Yaga, Mai, etc were stated dead, Nobara wasn't, she was mentioned as injured. That's NOT CERTAIN. Also, if she comes back she can actually have a big impact in the fight, with resonance she can do what Yuji's been doing so far and even from distance, combine that with Todo's Boogie Woogie, she would make Sukuna go crazy. Plus, I'm sure that if she comes back, Megumi would have a VERY GOOD reason to fight again, he wouldn't want her friend to die again.
id really like you to cover the whole exhibit when its all out and available!! im really curious about what they put up (need to see close ups of the higurama stuff and my GOAT choso) and would also really like your thoughts and opinions on all of the exhibit!
When Gege says "can't use the flower that symbolizes rebirth", I think they mean it like this - Yuta taking over Gojo's body is not technically a rebirth, because it's not Gojo's consciousness himself coming back to life. If after Yuta's 5 minutes are up then Gojo's mind takes over the body, THAT would be a rebirth - he was actually, properly dead, then came back - as opposed to something like having his body piloted like a mecha by a pilot who didn't read the instruction manual first. Basically - I don't think after the 5 minutes that Gojo will come back - because Gege probably would've had the foresight to use the rebirth flower to hint that he'd die and come back... So maybe Yuta's stuck in Gojo's body forever, the body flops over dead, or Kenjaku takes over for a nice plot-twist.
Nobara isn't desd. Remember, depart doesn't necessarily mean kill. Gege DID depart Nobara after Shibuya, we dont even see her currently. Its different to Nanami because for Nanami we CLEARLY saw his death, but for Nobara it's still unclear. Gege DID depart Nobara and Nanami ever since Shibuya, however Nanami is clearly dead while Nobara's condition is still unclear. That means Nobara isnt confirmed to be dead.
This makes me quite sad, besides her intresting CT, I would always enjoy her scenes with Yuji, even more when they fought together. I know there isn't much space for her in the story, but I do feel she was killed too early.
These translation notes said Nobara and Nanami "departed" which doesn't necessarily have to mean death. We know at least for sure in the case of Nanami it is. Later in the translation notes it says the sorcerers from Geto's cult in Shibuya "died". The word died could have been used for the part with Nobara like it was with other characters but it wasn't. Just something noticeable.
If you are going to think about it, these statement are all "what ifs" thoughts of gege. I will stil cling to the idea that nobara is still alive knowing how its 100% vague it was back in the chapter that the person who carried her body gave them 50/50 chance she might live.
the fuck are you on? what 50/50? he said its an extremely small chance????? Also his ability is to stop wounds from getting worse so idk how that would help with some of ur brain exploding
I’m still coping for Nobara. At least until yuji or megami dies. In all honesty I feel like she has a good amount of chemistry with yuji and I’d like for them to have some relationship development. Even without that romance which admittedly I’m a sucker for I liked her character and would’ve loved to see it develop more. Maybe Greg didn’t feel there was much more to develop but I personally wanted to see her mature a bit more in her world view
As far as I'm concerned, it changes nothing about whether she's dead or not. We still don't know. All he said is that he decided to have her "depart" in the Shibuya arc. And that's what she did, she left the story. That doesn't mean she's dead and that doesn't mean she can't come back, just that she was intended to leave the story at that point. Does that mean she's alive, then? Not necessarily, either. But Gege has gone out of his way to be vague about it and he's still being vague about it here unless the translation is just wrong. I won't believe she's 100% dead until somebody in the story says it, we see a grave, or Gege directly confirms it himself.
It means a lot actually. He didn't just say "depart". He said depart with Nanami. Meaning we should see her gone similar to how we see Nanami gone lol. He has confirmed it. Seriously agree with you. Her CT would have been perfect in the current story as the Soul is the main point in the battles now, she was ahead of the rest and honestly would have made a difference in the battle.
Since Resonance targets the soul, she could hurt Sukuna without hurting Megumi.

@@shuatyKnowing Mahito, his sick ass probably did that on purpose so Yuji could watch the light go out in her eyes.
I had already heard Nobara was confirmed dead in an interview, gege mentioned it before I STG
I don’t think he’s THAT much of a troll to bring her back after dropping this. Shame imo cus I wanted to see her developed more, but the story is ending soon so it makes sense she’s dead

If I remember correctly in a cover page you there was mahito playing with 3 puppets and they were like nanami jumbei and nobara
At least he admitted to his faults as a writer and was honest about it.
Ngl it's pretty entertaining finding a story where not even the author knows where it's going, I just hope I get my boy Gojo back
Gege just doesn't care about Nobara like that
I’m living in shibuya rn studying abroad. I’ll try and get in there and get some 4k images and send them over to those who want them lol.
I feel like Gege already revealed that Nobara wasn’t coming back. People just didn’t accept it.
She’s dead, man.
Nobara is still alive lil bro

I’m surprised there wasn’t a statue of Gojo built like a Greek God just randomly submitted by an anonymous user in there.
I mean there were memorial shrines in Gojo’s memory in Japan, so I wouldn’t be surprised if someone was currently building a statue of Gojo😂
I trust nothing until the story is finished.
So Gege is basically admitting to bad writing at points in the story? Okay that is nice but he’s still a monster
That means Nobara isnt confirmed to be dead.
we should all love meimei as much as gojo so that gege thinks she “impacts” us and kills her off

What was the Gege quote? “At the end of the story, either 1 of the main cast dies or only 1 survives?”
So who are you betting on; Yuji or Megumi?
My money is on Megumi, just cuz I kinda see a scenario where Yuji dying kinda works with his motivation & Megumi living on while most of his friends and family are dead to be incredibly ironic (Seeing on how Megumi’s name means “blessing”).
If gege didn't know what to do with megumi and tsumiki why did he even bother including them in the story
It aint over till its over ZEEEEUUUSS RETURN NOBARA TO THE STORY AND MY SOUL IS YOOUURSSSSS
its Ares
@@Yuuji-ES I know but you know how bad it gotta be to be begging Zeus
Megumi knew he wouldve been the bum from the start thank god he got sidelined
How Megumi was a bum?
Once a bum always a bum
yall just hop on the hate train
@@mr.bakonator3900
Let them be. I hope Gege see this then keep Megumi alive and happy in the end like Mei Mei
@@NamelessDragon21 writer's fault
Potential man out here potentialing before his debut
Yuki as a Kenjaku vessel woulda been cool to see..DAMN I hope someone makes art of it tho
Gege is legitimately just a bad writer and forgot about Nobara/thought the death was guaranteed even though he gave a level of hope by including the one guy claiming he could MAYBE save her. This dude is a hack on multiple levels. Poorly fleshed out world, power system, characters like Nobara and Megumi wasted etc.
Sure bud. Nobara is dead deal with it. Your waifu ain't coming back
I don’t know, I feel like he is fucking trolling, everybody thought that todo was completely gone too, and yet he came back at the most unexpected moment. But I do agree that his style of writing doesnt feel good, it is a mess at this point, Gojo’s death, sudden appearance of “Tsumiki”, Megumi being absolutely wasted and he still didnt find out that Toji was his father but at this point no idea how that would happen, Kenjaku being offed with no backstory at all and at this point that too doesnt feel like its going to be solved, Naobara obviously, and like you said no world building because all there is are sukuna asspulls
I disagree with the powe system but alr
@@de_maro Even the enchain moment, which was one of my favorite parts of the story, doesn't actually make sense. What should've happened is Megumi's sister reawakening and showing up to Megumi, then Sukuna does enchain and cuts her head off, destroying Megumi emotionally so he can take his body over.
In actuality, Sukuna could take Megumi over any time, so why not just take him over asap and kill the sister whenever you feel like?
@@dhimankalita1690 I don't care if she's dead or not. What matters is Gege didn't even think it had to be explained that she's dead even though that's a plot thread that has been left in the air since Shibuya. Have Megumi tell Yuji Nobara didn't pull through the first time they meet after Shibuya so that the plot thread can be closed and we can potentially even have, I dunno, DEVELOPMENT for both of our main characters? People make fun of Sakura in Naruto, but at least Sakura didn't seemingly die ambiguously with no clear answers in the Kazekage rescue arc and then never get mentioned again.
NOBARA IS NOT DEAD. SHES NOT DEAD. GEGE WOULDNT DO THAT TO ME. HE WOULDNT DO THAT TO US. GEGE GAVE US CHARLES FUCKING BERNARD HE WOULD NOT DO THAT TO US
