Maybe it's just me noticing now, or perhaps because it's near the actual 'end of the road' for Kiss touring- but there seems to be sooo many channels ranking kiss albums. While most are really lame or possibly even annoying, there are a few that are really enjoyable. It's great you shout out Sean Blumenshine, who's thoughtful, informative reviews are pretty much the gold standard as far as Kiss reviews go, imho. That being said, I really enjoyed your series- great image montages at the start, concise reviews with a sense of humor and levity and consistent explanation of why you like/dislike a particular song; kind of rating the elements within the song or song section, such as, vocal performance, lyrics, riffs, harmonies, rhythm, etc. It just seemed a more fun way to describe why a song appeals or not instead of many reviews where people just declare this song is great or this song sucks, etc. As you mentioned in one video, you are learning as you go and said the best way to get better at something is to do it. Nice affirmative statement, btw, and nice to hear. To that end, I have just one piece of feedback; the background music underneath your voice was a bit low energy and over time I found it distractive, mainly as it occurred to me it was rather repetitive. Your voice and energy are up and fun enough that, inho, such background music wasn't really necessary. Just one tiny constructive suggestion- take it for what it's worth, but take this for what it's worth as well: great job- as a lifelong, all-era kiss fan who never really had any close friends into Kiss, I find myself searching online for chat about my favorite band to fill that void, in some way. Thanks again- best of luck to you and continued success with your channel. Truly, B
I really appreciate all of that! I appreciate the feedback as well! Yeah Sean is the best! We had our own podcast together that kind of fizzled out, but I originally discovered him through his KISS reviews! He is definitely the Gold Standard I’m sure I’ll have more KISS adjacent content in the future, so I hope to see you there! 🤘🤘
1. Hell Or Hallelujah 2. Outta This World 3. Take Me Down Below 4. Back To The Stone Age 5. Long Way Down 6. Wall Of Sound 7. The Devil Is Me 8. Last Chance 9. Freak 10. Shout Mercy 11. For The Love Of Rock And Roll 12. Eat Your Heart Out
Theres some good songs on this album. Hell or Hallelujah and Long way Down are killer tracks . All of the Gene songs are solid. Thayer plays some great solos and most of them sound like Tommy Thayer not Ace. His song is awesome also. Singer now sings his song that sounds like a throwback Kiss song (Mainline) and I absolutely love it. Wow I need to listen to this album. It's been awhile and its definitely in my top 10 Kiss albums.
