Easily the best song on "Monster" and the only song that reminds of KISS' earlier, better years. Tommy should be allowed to do more. It's sad that it has now gotten to the point that Tommy's voice is better than Paul's.
The reason I sailed on KISS Kruise II was to hear "Monster" tracks done live. They did five of the tracks which was very cool ("Freak", "Hell or Hallelujah", "All for the Love of Rock and Roll", "Wall of Sound" and, uh, what was that other one?).
One of my favorite songs! Tommy plays and sings great but Eric is the star...keeping the guys going. We need to see "Eric" M-O-R-E! "HE" is OUTTA THIS WORLD TONIGHT!
Yeah, this song is decent. It is also however, patterned after songs that Ace has written. The lyrics, the guitar work, the way that the chorus is sung... all patterned after the man who created the persona that's making Tommy's life what it is today. I don't have anything against Tommy Thayer, really. Anyone with any sense would do the same thing given the chance, but I won't pay money to go see it. I'll just go see a tribute band first. Ace puts it best. Tommy Thayer is no Ace Frehley.
Jerry James I agree I dont hate Tommy as a person but doing shit like autographing kiss albums he didnt play on and having the autograph say "the REAL space man" pisses me off, that being said i wonder how many times a week hes gets called Ace by fans
Tommy Thayer making the Spaceman Great Again screw the haters he is keeping the tradition of KISS going the make up belongs to the band not just a individual member in my opinion
Monster and Sonic Boom are very underrated albums. I've played songs at shows and people ask who is that? Is it newer? It rocks!! Tommy has a great voice as well.
The riff is all Ace's "Rip It Out" but Tommy made it his own. I like it, and I like Tommy - he got a well paying gig with Kiss, Ace sold his rights to the makeup, I can't fault the guy for taking the job. He's making the most of it and is a fantastic guitar player. Love the tune, best song on Monster.
It's strange how much this sounds just like something Ace would write.. the delivery too. It's like an impersonation. This is why I can't accept it. I would've been on board (no pun) if they'd only let him be himself with a new image.. like Vinnie on Creatures tour, or Carr. To me, it's another stupid decision by Paul n Gene. I don't believe it would have affected ticket or album sales at all. Apparently, Paul thinks it would have been dumb to allow a new "character." This is where he is dead wrong. KISS were never characters to me or Kiss fans. They were Ace, Peter, Paul, and Gene- NOT the spaceman, catman, demon, and starchild. He got it wrong. He drove away many KISS fans unecessarily. So, actually, with this in mind, it probably did affect sales, but in a negative way. Had they allowed Tommy to develop his own persona, I would've bought Sonic and Monster- and I would've gone to shows too. I'm def not the only one like this. They always end up making shitty decisions that only hurt themselves, starting with solo albums, then I Was Made for Lovin You.. How do you go from I Stole Your Love and Take Me to Hold Me, Touch Me???! Even as a 10 year old, it made me cringe and confused me.. Then The Elder ugh. Talk about getting confused! When Van Halen had just released Fair Warning and Iron Maiden released Killers and Judas Priest's British Steel, KISS did Elder! WTF.. See? They never read the people or times correctly- just like this stupid shit with Tommy.. And firing Vinnie was another big mistake. After 2 good albums with Vinnie, as they were climbing out of the hole making great music again, they fire the one dude who made it possible, and then Animalize- which SUCKED!- especially, by comparison. Then they end up hiring a tree with no writing skills that sounded just like every other guitarist on the block,.. and they sucked ever since UNTIL the Reunion.. and then, the fkd up again with Psycho Circus, not even letting Peter or Ace play on it (minus 1 or 2 songs), and it SUCKED.. Then Tommy ugh... I agreed with Peter's departure as I did back in 79. He sucked and showed his horrible true colors with his pos solo album... and he could no longer play worth a shit. This I understood, and no one cared... I just wish they would've let Tommy be REAL. That would've changed everything for me- and a lot of other die- hard fans.. but instead, badly tarnished KISS' image once for all. Dumb decisions. ps. I must add (for the sake of Kulick only) that Asylum surprised me. I honestly think that is KISS LAST good album. No, I can't stand Revenge- except the one song, Unholy, written by... VINNIE VINCENT. KISS could've ruled the world a 2nd time with lineup! That was a lethal lineup.. and could jam with the best metal bands out there.. but not with Kulick. Kulick was just a hired hand that did whatever he was told, and had no originality at all.
Tommy did an awesome job on that. They should keep that tune in rotation and give Paul a rest.
This put a smile on my face. I'm happy to see Tommy doing his own songs. Hope they do away with the space songs of before.
+Alex Thorn its great eric's doing his own songs 2
@@dale4039 Eric's never written a song in his life. Paul wrote that song for him as if he was writing for Peter Criss.
@@rmartin7558 I know he didn't write it I just meant him singing songs that he sung on
lol.. they let him do one thing: write a song that sounds exactly like an Ace song.
pathetic
I'd rather hear this than shock me. These are Tommy songs and they rock.
damn, SERIOUSLY??!!
You must be really young
It's a great song. Tommy rocks ! Awesome !
He sounds nothing like Ace. Tommy sings really well !
gorgeous voice gorgeous sexy man
I love this song! Tommy rocks! Killer!!
He indeed does!❤️🚀🎸🎵❤️🚀🎸🎵
lmao

S Green very true
That song Paul wrote for Eric All fot the Love of Rock and Roll was really good too.
thumbs up Tommy Great job. By far best song off of Monster
That end chorus and Tommy's guitar parts for the last 90 seconds are on fire. This is the best KISS song since stuff from Revenge.
The reason I sailed on KISS Kruise II was to hear "Monster" tracks done live. They did five of the tracks which was very cool ("Freak", "Hell or Hallelujah", "All for the Love of Rock and Roll", "Wall of Sound" and, uh, what was that other one?).
Long Way Down
The best band on the world KISS

He does sing For the Love of Rock N Roll on monster so theres something
Anybody can play to a click track.
Hey KISS fans, Ace isn't coming back. Get over it. Tommy's the MAN!!!! Awesome song and one hell of a singer. Screw Ace
correction tommy is a scab but ill give him this song is pretty good

+AK Grower No Tommy Thayer is no Ace Frehley But he's doing a helluva job.
Love Tommy! Can't wait to see him in early September when I see the 'End of the Road' tour performance in the Chicago area!
Tommy and Ace are my faves out of all kiss members from 73 to now
Not giving a shit what others say. I love you Tommy :)
Tommy rocks! Along with Vinnie Vincent.
Great video!!! Thanks))) KISS are awesome
Tommy Thayer making the Spaceman Great Again screw the haters he is keeping the tradition of KISS going the make up belongs to the band not just a individual member in my opinion
I swear Gene looks skinnier. Awesome post!
Thanks so much for all the Kruise videos!
Love this song, thanks for posting.
One of my fave songs that Tommy wrote. Love his voice too. ❤
That celestial moment when Ace's space man transcends the Frehley.
Monster and Sonic Boom are very underrated albums. I've played songs at shows and people ask who is that? Is it newer? It rocks!! Tommy has a great voice as well.

It’s Great
Tommy je nejlepší z celé skupiny... :D Zpívá ze všech nejlíp
Tommy and Paul are amazing. Same with gene and Eric.⭐🚀❤️❤️

TOMMY ROCKS!!!
Indeed he does!!!
awesome!
The best...
Would have no problem with Thayer & Singer if they had their own makeup. They shouldn’t be wearing Ace & Peter’s makeup! xoxo The Clarences
Tommy rocks...
0:47 What's with Gene? Takin a seat on the amps xD Since when do you sit during concerts lol.
Isn't he in his late 60s here? Lol, give him a break, he's an older gentleman.
@@aceythespacemanfrehley2566 I know I just never see him do that though haha
*written by Tommy*
They are singing good!anyone who Wants to denide it?
The riff in this song reminds me heavily of Mountain’s “Mississippi Queen”.
0:37 “he’s gonna get a big head...we cant have any of that. Cant have another Ace”
Dizem que o ser humano é insubstituível. Mas esse cara não tem uma grama do carisma do Ace Frehley.
I agree with all of that!. Shannon found her meal ticket. Simple as that
COOL YEA.
😍😍💕💕👌👌👌👌👌👌
Why does Paul occasionally speak in a British accent?
What? Lmao. I think it's his New York accent, where he doesn't use a strong 'r' sound at the end of words ending in r.
How dare you call him fake ace, he can play circles around ace any day, Ace said so himself!
Was this night one or night two?
It's strange how much this sounds just like something Ace would write.. the delivery too. It's like an impersonation.

Come on, pan over to Tommy, not Paul. :(
I still have a hard time figuring out what a classy chick like Shannon Tweed is doing with the greasy $immons
Sounds like GFR.
The whole idea of thos is pitiful
Cool Song, but so fake about ACE
Tommy makes ACE look like amateur.
