Hi Steven, I don't yet have a video lesson on power chords on RUclips. But I do discuss power chords and barre chords in my online course: www.laurenbateman.com/course Go check it out! Lots of cool tips and pointers for player in there.
Learning the chords and strumming will be the easy part. Singing like John Fogerty? Well there’s only one John Fogerty. One of many of my favorite CCR songs. Thanks Lauren!
Who'll Stop the Rain by CCR is one of my favorite songs since school days. But your presentation helped me to grasp the pattern of playing. Will keep practicing to get it right. Thanks & God Bless You ❤️🙏🙏🙏
Lauren: Just retired and took up the guitar a year ago (this is my 3rd song to learn). Your presentation is excellent and comphensive but not intimidating for this beginner. The strumming details/explanations are very helpful. Thank you, keep up the great work!
G C D Em Am Bm I was like hmm left two out but still sounded good. Doesn't pause it's a bass walk down from G C Am. Also if you play alone it starts in Am to C walk down to G but spot on with the G notations. Excellent job on simplify it for beginners. Love this song on my J 200. I love Hank Sr picking love sick blues on my D 15. I always look for something new or something I missed. Learn every day. I recommend you to someone who is beginning to play. I have played 36 yrs but teaching isn't for me I learned by ear and alone. But much ❤️ ♥️💞💓 for what you do. You are awesome thank you.
I'm not a real good guitar player but the way you teach help me a lot I'm much better now never be a great guitar player but at least I can play thanks to you you're the best
Wow, Living in Oregon this is a theme song for us up here.... Yet still we wonder.....🎶 🌧️🎶Who'll stop the rain 🌧️🎶🎶 Well Lauren I don't know how I missed this lesson you know how much I love CCR and John Fogerty. I'm glad I caught this one a year late better late than never I suppose.....🙄 I'm digging the walk down between the G and the E minor that was cool...😎🤙 Thanks Teach.... 🍎
Thanks! Really enjoyed this lesson. I’m 130 days into my guitar 🎸 experience. Signed up for your beginner course back in May. Really happy with the progress I have made since then. Really quite amazing what you can learn if you just stick with it. Haven’t missed a day of practicing since I started. Definitely going to give this song a try. Still lots to learn, but definitely enjoying the process. 😎👍
Great lesson Lauren...Always appreciate your step by step method ...Little over a year on acoustic and still loving the journey. Your videos have been a wonderful inspiration for me to pick up the guitar on a daily basis.
Thank you, Ryan for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
I really liked this video and am excited to try out this song. I started playing at a very young age. Also I started my own RUclips channel a few months ago, to keep a record of my path of becoming a musician. I would love to have any tips you could give to me. Thanks for the inspiration and all you do.
Lauren - You are an excellent teacher. Can you play and sing the entire lesson at the front end of your lesson. This is very helpful as your students can play along with you to get their timing down. Thanks Mike in Florida
Hi, Lauren! I am new to learning and am working my way through your courses, but love these RUclipss you do as well. Can you do one for Memories by Maroon 5?
Thank you, Sann for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
Thank you, Pat for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
When we were kids, my older brother was a CCR fan. Like all big brothers, he was a pain in the !"£*, so I didn't want to be like him. Fast forward over 50 years, and I'm loving to learn CCR songs on your channel, I'm learning to tolerate my big brother as well😂, now that we're in our 60's, better late than never.
Lesson was pretty good (intro finger picking) but when I play along with CCR I hear a chord different in the 2nd & 3rd verses that you don’t mention (different than verse 1). Think it might be a Bm or Bm7 instead of a G chord.
@@LaurenBateman not a big deal, but I hear it. In 2nd & 3rd verse start the chords I believe are: G-G-C-G G-Bm-C-G In verse 1 the Bm is a G or exactly the same as line 1. Anyway keep up the good lessons.
Thank you, John for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
@@LaurenBateman thanks for what you do here. I am getting there with your sweet home bama tutorial. Still clumsy with the finger placements/frets on the hammering sections but getting there hopefully. Muscle memory issues I spose
@@LaurenBateman I do appreciated your teaching Lauren and I am willing to pay for it, do not be upset ( if any ;) but I thought most people prefer demo íntructions, verbal explaining really needed but should maybe as enough for learner to expose theirself more based on what you tauch. Lauren I'm a new subscriber. I'm having difficulty with power chords E Eflat and D. Can you help me with this?

You are a fantastic instructor can you tell me what is the strumming pattern for feeling blue CCR
Don't have a lesson or chart on that one yet.

Hi Michael, due to copyright laws I cannot do that or I risk getting my RUclips channel shut down
@@LaurenBateman Out of curiosity Lauren, what is the name for this eight note strumming pattern? Is it 8/8? Thanks, John

Awww thanks Tim. :) I do like CCR.
Hi Lauren,I believe the instrumental chords are from G then C G. D. Am C Em. D G thanks
Will have to check. Thank you.

Lauren, my guitar is not giving the smooth sound. Is there any video you made for guitar string adjustment.? If so pls share the link of it.
I unfortunately do not have a video on that right now.
Great lesson
I use the strum pattern D DU UD U
Sounds ok to me but is that ok?
You sure can!
Great great video and I really enjoy it.
Glad you enjoyed it Nelson

Hmmm, I've always played it live, so I've never noticed it. How I teach it here is how my band used to play it.

Not sure which sports you are talking about, but if it is a walkdown, it's possible.
