I have a male that is so afraid since the cat scared him and I can’t get my hands on him to weigh him. Heck I hardly ever get to see him so I have to wait until late at night and use a flashlight. Breaks my heart I just love him. 1K.
Bummer! Just keep working with him!
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos any suggestions? He hides inside of a cork log and I’m so afraid he will drop his tail of I try to catch him
You should be okay! They really don’t want to drop their tails!
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos really?! That’s great to know!!
Yes! Also they will wiggle their tail before dropping it!
1K! Merry Christmas! I can't wait till my babies are old enough to breed!

Nick 2021 will be my frist year breeding :) I am glad you made this video. I have a 46g Creamsicle and a 36g phantom lily. How long do you keep them together? I am thinking a week together then a week off and repeat for just a month.
Awesome pairing! I would only pair one week a month! Especially at the size difference!
1K! and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas 😊 entered!!
Hey Nick, I had one other breeding question, specifically for the females. Should you wait till they lay eggs on their own, or can you breed them before that?
You can but that may take a while. Also some females lay at 20 grams which isn’t near ready to breed that’s why I lean on weight!
Merry Christmas! 1k!

Hi Nick. Thank you for another nice video to share your knowledge and experience. I have a female around 37 gram. She's my best eater, but lately she hasn't ate or poop in a week. She's in the lay box a lot , looking like she's laying eggs with her tail up. But she was never bred. I got her when she's 18 gram. I knew she was never bred or even seen a male. I check the lay box every time she's out, there is nothing there. But she's still not eating. It has been a week. Should I worry ? Any idea what happened to her ?
I wouldn’t be concerned yet. She could possibly be laying duds soon. Assuming your temps and humidity is good I would not worry. Maybe try offering some crickets to get her food motivation back up!
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos thank you very much for the reply. :-). I live in Florida, humidity and temps are good. All my other geckos are still eating. OK I won't worry much. She stoped eating crickets first, and then stoped on Pangea. I will keep trying and keep you update. Thank you again.
Make sure your dumping the crickets in her tank and letting her hunt!
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos Thank you !
Hey Nick, i think you make really nice videos but i have a wish for a new episode. See i got a crestie like almost 2 years ago. My ex boyfriend didn't wanted to handle him because he feared the loss of its tail. Over all my gecko always was all over the place whenever we had to take him out. He is very scared of everything.
I always wanted a video which explains how to tame a gecko. Like how often and how long. It might be that its a personality thing but i'm interested in this topic anyway.
I'd love to see such a video.
I have a handling video coming out soon! I will also make one on geckos personalities! Keep working with them!!
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos
Wow that's a fast answer ^^
I'll start working with him from now on
Thank you, i'll wait patiently
Great!! Good luck! Always feel free to reach out! I answer as fast as I can!
What if my 44g female doesn't want to breed and is squeaking and shaking her tail and head at my males?
1k, I have a questions I have eggs that were layed eggs sep 17 would they be hatching soon or no also to add they are room temperature
Yes any day know! But what are temps?
Entered!
It’s about 70-74 normal in the house
Should be soon! You can candle them and they should be almost fully black
1k letting mine grow a little bit bigger
Yay!!
1k!

@@NickHowellElectricgeckos thank you!
These are all including their tail right? I have a 30g male but he doesn't have a tail
Correct I think address it, typically your male would be 35 grams with the tail!
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos cool thanks!
No problem! Have a good day/night!
1k. Now is I can only figure out of I have makes our females
Haha yes! That’s always the fun part! Youre entered!
So should my Male go into my female's enclosure or vice versa, and how long should I leave him with her since you don't suggest them living together.
Either way is fine, for faster results I say female in males enclosures!
Pair them for 1 week a month! They will surely lock in that time span!
Thank you sir
No Problem! If you have more questions just let me know!

So I have a female that has never laid infertile eggs but she is 47 grams. I’m not sure how old she is because I got her at an expo but, can she still breed even though she has never laid infertile eggs yet?
So this tricky. Do you know if she was bred before?
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos Not that I know of. I’m pretty sure she was never bred.
If she was never bred I would pair her. She’s laying partho eggs which likely die out.
@@NickHowellElectricgeckos Ok thank you for the info!

For one you didn't explain why you can't breed before 40 grams. It's because you can. Females in the wild would not wait till then lol. That's silly. Once a female starts laying eggs you can keep an eye on her, give more calcium and thicken her up to "bounce her back up" . Plenty of people have breed tailless females at 30 grams and had successfully done it. As long as you add more calcium and keep up with feedings you should be good. I make sure my females are laying every month (without male) before I breed. It's possible
1k I’m late
