Great video, how many holes do you have to put in a plastic container I know you have some large ones and you have some small ones. Do you put in one row on both sides two rows etc. thanks
If I house 1 male with 2 females, is there a way to prevent breeding because I think one of my females is too small. Would the female not be able to breed, would the eggs be harmful to her, will nothing happen because I don't have a reader box / Eco Earth substrate or should I just separate the male all together?
Sorry so late to the party. Im new to keeping multiple geckos and im considering tubs. My question is 1- do u keep the lights on in your reptile room? (And how long?) 2- Im building a 2x2x3 vivarium for 2 lucky males. Can I safely keep females with them indefinitely so long as Theres good hidings? Thanks!
@@smithd2001 Ok so I trust this guy and all and I think he knows a lot about reptiles but... don’t you think that bin is a little small for 4 crested geckos? So honestly I think the bin is a little small but that’s just my opinion

I have some of my cresties in terrariums and some in tubs. I do the exact same thing with the tubs and tanks. My crested gecko actually does better in tubs.
Ravens41 so i got a Baby Crested gecko a month ago and I just took him out every day for 5-15 minutes and he just got used to it, I hope that this helps
Handle them every single day. Every day. What I would do it go in and grab it, hold it for 30 seconds and put it back. But do that multiple times a day. That also gets them used to your hands
Void_ Xenon no, that’s the minimum for ONE Crested Gecko, also you really shouldn’t put a male and a female together because it puts so much stress on them. They should both have a separate tank and should only share a tank for maybe a week just to make sure they breed.
as long as they have hiding spots and things to climb on they are fine, vertical space is not very important with geckos as long as you know what your doing
Penda wtf, no it’s not. Okay imagine you and three other adult guys have to share one tiny ass room. Not even mentioning that enclosure has one hide, one hide so I don’t know wha you’re talking about saying that as long as they have hides. Not even mentioning he used retarted as an insult, why would you want a role model like that.
No if you’re not a breeder don’t do it. Also do it in a much larger space if you do decide to. 20 gallons of space per gecko is the recommended amount.
a 45x45x60 is barely enough for a pair, and a pair isn't an option permanently since the female will be stressed all the time. 2-3 females are recommended if you want a permanent cohab but you'll need a large tank (90x45x90 minimum) and have a lot of foliage and hides + 2-3 food bowls so there isn't any dominance over the food. Finally, females can work out for a long time but don't be fooled, they might change their minds over night and you need to be able to seperate them the moment you see any agression. I'll always advocate against cohabbing apart from breeding season.
I have 2 crested geckos pin striped I housed them together from day one I have 3 hides waiting too see sex of them one 7 months and the other is 5 months I feed Pangea and rapashy with dusted crickets they are growing fast now I rotate feed 2 feeding dishes so my question is how do you sex them
Michael Bezweichin I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what morphs you breed. But I think you should make sure you have people lined up that want a gecko, otherwise you'll be overrun with geckos you cannot look after. And do your research!
You also have to check weight regularly because if they breed alot, they can lose too much weight and need to be separated until weight goes back to normal. I know a breeder that has a pair that eats better when together, that is not usual though, so just check weight often.
Blaise Plaster males shouldn’t go together. They will start fighting. As babies they can but when they reach towards adulthood they start fighting. Females can stay together usually. Females and males can stay together
@@recon_MIve worked at reptile stores the past 5 years. I own and bread crested geckos. That is really not okay to put these animals in plastic bins with nothing in it. their requirements aren't being met in that enclosure.
Patrick Loughlin I have a ? For you. If I start breeding and want to sell the babies once they are big or healthy enough , how do I find out where to start selling them please
They are solitary animals they shouldn’t be in groups unless it’s specifically for breeding. Anything else is just to have more and save space...they do not live in groups or anything resembling a group in the wild. Maybe it’s “worked” for you but like you said there is a chance of bullying, why take this risk? I really like your videos but this is really bad information to put out there.

Yes, breeder's choices to confine to small spaces is extremely problematic if not outright creulty. Tiki's appears to be one of the worst offenders.

Right??
He has lots of geckos so it will be way to expensive to have enclosures for all of them

@TikisGekos what is the optimal ambient temperature to house cresties and do they need UVB lighting.
