    You should do the wiring video. Car guys will watch anything that involves cars, and wiring isn’t an easy thing to do. You may not think it’s a good video topic, but someone somewhere will be thankful that you made it.

      I will definitely do a video on the wiring, but it will likely be important highlights as I go along, with maybe some timelapse sprinkled in.
      I'm trying to find the balance of making a good how-to videos, give a little extra to the loyal Subs that just want to watch the progress on the build, and keep the videos from feeling bloated. :)

      I feel your pain, and on the surface the wiring instructions do look a little overwhelming. But it's not as difficult as you'd think, especially since this harness is designed to plug into existing components in the car because they use the same connectors. I'll be able to show this when we get there. :)

  • @willg3865
    @willg3865 4 месяца назад

    Do the wiring video. Even if you have to break it up into a series, it would be greatly appreciated. You'd be surprised at how many of us DIY gearheads appreciate detailed videos. The more detailed the better IMO. As for as what to do/film while waiting for the mustang to return. You could install a 220v heater in your garage that mounts on the ceiling to help take off the chill and film that. Due to space constraints in your garage you could build a shelf where your QA1 banner is and that would free up some space/clutter on the floor and not interfere with parking. Like your vids take it easy.

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  4 месяца назад

      I wondered if a multipart video on the wiring would be good, but I haven't yet decided how it would provide the info some want without feeling like a mind numbing dive into "there's no space under the dash to work, this is horrible!"
      I wish I could put a heater in like you described. The biggest issue is the breaker panel is 100 feet in the opposite direction. A natural gas unit would make more sense with the proximity of my gas metering system, but that'll be pricey. :)

    I’m very curious on what you do for a living Andy. My guess is some kind of mechanical engineering degree. The things you sell on your web site lead me in that direction.
    Also, if you do start another project, begin it with a “Will it Run” video, since those seem to be big view vids. Where you are at it shouldn’t be too hard to find an old Ford truck that needs some TLC and begin with that. Once you get it going you can then do a bunch of videos on upgrades kinda like what you’ve done with the Mustangs.

    I have a 67 coupe that has a 1970 BOSS302 in it. I have done the Painless wiring about 6 years ago years ago when I painted the car. Obviously the hardest part is routing the wire and meticulously covering it with loom and anchoring so there is no movement. I would guess it took about 30-40 hours of work.

    Thanks for the video Andy! Apart from Mustangs, I personally like old Corvettes (C2) and Porsches (911 from the 80's), so it would be cool if you happen to have any interest in these cars too :)

    Hey Andy have you looked into possibly doing a rear taillight applique panel for the fastback? They are still available and no one has an installation video on doing one.

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  4 месяца назад +1

      Not sure what that is. I always liked the black taillight panel sections on these cars, but only on solid color cars. It doesn't look as good with a car that has stripes. :)

    • @meek01__53
      @meek01__53 4 месяца назад

      @AndyKruseChannel the panel is a pot metal or aluminum ribbed panel that bolts over the taillight panel right below the trunk lid. Most were painted body color but that is a decision up to the owner. I have a 67 convertible mustang that is Acapulco Blue with Platinum stripes and I'm going to polish the one I got since it should be close to the Platinum stripes. They bolt on with studs and special spacers and the replace the taillight enclosures going on either side of the gas cap. You do have to drill holes for the mounting hardware. Might be worth a look searching under rear taillight applique panel.

    Nooooo. Please keep doing Mustang restore vids. You, and a couple of others, are key points of training for what to do (and occasionally, what not to do) for me when I'm working on my wife's 1965. Please choose another classic, maybe a real fixer upper that you can show things we can't find on other vids. After all, you can always sell the restored car to pay for your next project!

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  4 месяца назад +1

      I don't plan to stop the vids, but I also don't want to make a vid just for the sake of doing so. 99% of my channel is how-to/informative content, so filming myself going to the grocery store is not where I want to be right now. I still have a few things in the works though. :)
