And yet another great video. Seems like a decent product. Never, never, ever, ever buy a detailing product from someone you never heard of the is on Facebook.
Thanks Codriver! Really enjoying it so far as well as the Magnum Wax. Poly-Seal definitely has some great hydrophobics. Looking forward to putting a video up for those two.
Very interesting you mentioned shelf life, because before you did, I thought to myself, the 1st version has way better hydrophobics than what you showed. Even to say, the 1st version may initially have better hydrophobics than the 2nd version. Thanks for the video.
Cheers Henry! Very surprising to see this amount of performance loss after a year as far as shelf life goes for V1. Much better hydrophobics when it was fresh, should have included a clip of that in the video.
WaxMode have you come across a spray sealant/coating that holds it high hydrophobicity for at least 1 month? I’m talking no loss at all. This is why I like SOME coatings, they hold their hydrophobicity for a long time.
Pretty much everything that is not a full coating will see a dip after a month on these drivers that sit outside and are ungaraged. BSD does well in holding up, I haven't seen a loss on top of the coatings after the three weeks, by itself you should see a slight drop and then it will drop faster after 6 weeks. The stronger spray coatings like Moonlight and CanCoat will easily get through a month with practically zero loss. Polymer Net Shield is another one that will hold up perfectly after a month. Griot's Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax perhaps held up the best at the 3 month mark compared to every other consumer ceramic, I would even say the loss in performance is fairly minimal at the three month mark, surprising!
Yeah that's crazy, the Japanese cars are the ones I most often see with rusted out hoods and roofs because the paint flaked out after 10 years. This 2010 model blue test Honda is finally undergoing paint failure on the hood as a result of overpolishing just due to me testing products, but the roof already had signs of paint failure 5 years ago. Once it goes there is no stopping it, but the areas where I've coated the paint on the sides are still in perfect shape, no evidence of paint failure. Planned obsolescence. What I want to know is who is the guy that mandated that a 70-80 micron paint thickness layer from the factory is acceptable from a QC perspective at Subaru?
Awesome video man! Was waiting for your thoughts my friend!! Seems the V2 is much much better in terms of durability. I haven't had the original so I can't say for myself! Lol awesome video man, as always! I literally JUST got done using griots 3-1 ceramic on a F150 I detailed. Fantastic product. I found it to flash quick and had some streaking when trying to go to big of surface area.. either way slickness is awesome and it smells great,!!
3-1 is a really good product, overall. Yea. don't work a huge section. It's very important to use a low pile towel to buff off 3-1. Comes off streak free this way, at least for me. A thick pile MF left smearing/streaking for sure.
@@henryfong8051 Henry, exactly what I noticed as well. A low pile microfiber worked much better than a plush one. I enjoyed the 3-1 a lot. I can't wait to do some more testing 👍
Thanks PapaSmurf! Good to hear your thoughts on the Griot's as well. I did have some trouble applying the Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax on top of the weathered Adam's Spray Coating section, wiped in unevenly and streaky. Griot's is a funky product, the gloss meter shows a few GU's drop in gloss ratings after applying it, slightly more than other products but it does level out well with the microfiber for me without heavy residuals on the bare test panel, which is different than Seal N Shine. Definitely feels like a significant protectant is being deposited on the paint and this showed in the durability test. I also like the smell of it!
@@WaxMode definitely man! It was in the 90s when I applied it which I'm sure played a factor. But still just had to just make my application area smaller and it was all good! I'm going to do a 1 month durability test on this stuff for sure. Try to keep the monthly updates too.. 👍👍
Thanks Amir! I'm liking both Poly-Seal and Magnum Wax for sure. Really great glow out of Magnum Wax on this color panel. Great hydrophobics out of Poly-Seal, a good two punch combo.
Nice review. TLC 2.0 vs TW seal and shine. :) Hahaha I was wondering when you'd eat though your clear coat with all that polishing. Ive got a mitsubishi lancer and the paint is very soft and I assume thin, I can usually get a good level of correction with menzerna 3500 polish using a black LC pad..
Thanks James! Seal N Shine would still edge out TLC2 in short term chemical resistance, but SNS is just a bit heavy for my liking. The new Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating is a bit lighter, not quite as chemically resistant compared to SNS in the short term but I do like it better than SNS. TLC2 is good, I need to put it through a long term test to see if it's very good for that higher price, but I've got a ton of products that are all fighting for space on the drivers that I work with. I always enjoyed Menzerna polishes, I work a lot with 3800 currently. Back in the day I was a big Intensive Polish, Super Intensive Polish, and Nano Polish user with the LC CCS pads.

Watching your video it does appear TLC Version-2 is a nice improvement over the original TLC. Thankfully, there is no reason to spend $35 for 16-ozs of a spray sealant. The number of competitors churning out spray on products has exploded and some of them are 1/2 the price of the TLC. I use TW, Meguiars, Sonax and Griots sprayable waxes and sealants and they deliver good performance at a competitive price.
Agree John, such a competitive scene right now in the market between products and it's helping to drive the price down a bit. I like that a lot of them are different from one another, none of these seem like copycat protectants, they will have different features that align with different preferences.
Thanks Hank! I don't know what it is about Magnum Wax, just looks like it has some sort of special glow to it. Really easy to work with, smells nice, little goes a long way, I'm loving it and also having fun with Poly-Seal!

They already came out with V3.
BSD smells WAY too good, this can't be healthy for me. Meguiar's is on fire with their fragrances too, HCD, HCW, HCLW, UQW, UQD. They updated the smell on the new Ultimate Quik Detailer, no longer smells like NXT wax, but still smells nice. Ultimate Quik Wax is still one of my favorites, the new Adam's CS3 smells nuts too. I'm an addict. TLC2 is one of the only products that was heavily targeting the social media platforms that I was seeing good feedback from detailers. And I do like it so far, it's like the more refined version of Ice Seal N Shine with better wipeability, not as heavy, levels down better. Really contemplating whether I want to run it through a long term durability test on one of the daily drivers. But I still don't want to spend $35 for the bottle, too many quality spray sealants that are doing really well in durability tests for under $20. Anyone running heavy marketing for their products online has to buy that ad space, and that cost comes back to bite the buyers. TopCoat F11 must spend an absolute fortune for the ad space that RUclips plasters all over our videos, no wonder it's a $60 product that doesn't translate into performance. Have you worked with the latest version of Over Coat? Kamikaze was just always out of my budget, would love to pick up the range and work with them for sure in the future, so many guys love their coatings. I also want that Kamikaze Beast backing plate for the Rupes, I'm a sucker for quality backing plates, I spent over $70 to get my hands on the 3M Perfect-It III rotary backing plate a decade ago.

Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax for sure. The Ice Spray Wax has a bit of that short term chemical resistance, obviously not at the level of Seal N Shine but enough to make it a compatible topper. I think it smells better than the latest Hybrid Solutions line as well, just a preference, it's been pretty durable over a variety of different sealants over the years for me, holds up well during weekly/biweekly washes.
