Jesus saved me September 26, 1973 at 3 PM in my parents back yard. I was 19, a good Methodist girl bound in religion. But when God showed me 1 John 3:4-10 He showed me that I was a child of the devil because I had broken those 10 commandments in my parents family room. I agreed with God that I was a child of the devil, but I wanted to be a child of God. Then God revealed to me Jesus dying on the cross for my sins personally. There was such love in His eyes. His arms were open wide to me. I began to cry and repent and I begged God to save me. He did in an instant. He destroyed the works of the devil in my life. I was baptized the next winter in our college swimming pool,along with several others. I love Jesus and have walked with Him 47 years.
I devour His Word every day and follow His Holy Spirit.

Thank you for such a great story and for teaching us what to do. l believe in God I will look before I cross the line of what I'm doing and will also think about what I have done. You're right we do need to put God first. You have also touched my life as well as many others. I believe in God because once, I was at a Christmas party and I was getting food and when I came back I couldn't find my parents so I was sobbing until I prayed to God and he saved my life and I could see my parents looking for me and I was crying of joy. Being a Christian is more than just about following a religion, more than just adhering to a certain set of rules. It is about receiving forgiveness and a restored relationship with a TRUE, LIVING God, which is so special since he is the creator of all that is living, and is the only being who can truly satisfy us completely.
We can't find genuine fulfillment through our academic achievements, sporting accomplishments, pursuit of pleasure etc. Only God who can truly grant us joy, peace and fulfillment. And Christians are not morally superior people- what we are, forgiven and transformed people, as a result of God's mercy only.
Let's not forget it means getting away with anything you do wrong, as long as you apologize and ask forgiveness before you die. How convenient it must be to have a "get out of jail free" card in your pocket at all times. The rest of us have to live by our own morality without a free ride.

Jesus came to save us from not only the penalty of sin - but from the power of sin here in this life, and ultiimately from the presence of sin in heaven.
As time is heading to a perilous close - we need to come out of this 'nominal' Christianity where we Know the things of Jesus but fail to follow and walk in His ways, and not our own.
The world is in those perilous times...
2 Timothy 3:1-5
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Note that verses 2-4 are speaking about 'nominal Christians' - because in v5 we see these have a 'form of godliness',
that 'deny the power thereof' - ...the power thereof is the Power to Overcome sin.
Those holding to the popular notion that one only has to confess Christ are being deceived.
We can't live like the devil and expect to live with the saints.
Some say it this way - we only need to love Christ. But how does Christ define this LOVE?
Jesus said -- John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Well I like your video about your own story. But even in your video, emphasizing rape may seem dramatic to you, but it's the same as if you emphasized murder to the murder victims families. It's would be really out of taste and discount the terrible trauma they've suffered. Keep telling your story, but please don't feel you need to throw in talk of murder or rape, to add drama. Your own experience of what God did for you and how it's changed your life for the better is by far more powerful. It's what's you know, it's real, so is your reaction, and it's a great testimony that will inspire others. Speculating about how people will react to rape or murder, and if their reactions will send them to hell, sure won't.

When someone finds Islam and avoids crime, is that proof of Allah? When an atheist considers crime and avoids it, is it proof *no* gods exist?
Personal testimony is *not* convincing to anyone but the person it happens to and others who already share their beliefs.

Incidentally Michael, I too have experienced God's forgiveness in my life. I have experienced the "still small voice of God" in my own life. (It's way different than aliens :). PS - You really should give God a chance. He can totally change your life for the better. He did mine.

I don't know what I was looking for, but this isn't it.
I still dont understand why God would send someone soul to hell for eternity for some sins. To me its more just for God to kill the soul of the sinnners rather than send it to lake of fire forever. I dont deserve heaven, i rather have my soul destroy forever, its more just to destroy the soul in my opinion. Its our destiny to go the lake of fire when we were born so im having a hard time understand a just and loving God.
it's wrong to steal, yes, but I don't think you deserve conscious torture for all eternity just because you were tempted to steal to get out of your poverty.....which you didnt even do.....dont see how that works....
It was not a torture for him anymore because there's no fear or guilt in Jesus's perfect love. That plan to steal just opened his eyes to what is really the condition of his (covetous) and made him realize he is a sinner. But it doesn't just stop there. He was offered the solution. Jesus died for him to take away all the sins he had and not only to pay his ransom but to also change him into a completely different person. Not a sinless one, but one who loves God and hates sin. That pretty much sum up the testimony😊

When you sin you sin against God which demands an eternal punishment since he is an eternal God. Let’s say you stole something from a friend, not much would happen. What if you steal from a bank? Or the government? Same crime, more punishment because the person who you stole from has a higher authority than you. Imagine sinning against the Most High God. Yikes😳

We need to have eyes to see Jesus Christ in others. People so often don't do that seeing a name that people are associated with only. Those people don' t know how Jesus talks thus will not know how the enemy of Jesus talks. A righteous man falls 7 times but he gets back up again. The wicked fall into mischief. The wicked think that being evil is good - sweet. Jesus endured cross when he was rejected as the Lord of glory not using power that set the stars in the universe against us. Love beyond understanding kept Jesus from doing that. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Wicked will be burned up after the second resurrection. That will be the end of the wicked.

If you deserve hell, then the just thing is that you will go there. A *good* justice system has no loopholes.
That's why God's grace is so amazing. He REMOVES our sins so that we don't get the justice we deserved. He REMOVES them so that we now DESERVE heaven - because to him, the judge, we are now SINLESS.
Paul Clark A perfect justice system doesn't remove anything. They are there to judge the ones who are suspected of committing a crime. If they are guilty, then the justice system will punish them.
How about this illustration. We owe God a debt, and since He is just, it must be paid. Jesus paid it for us when he died on the Cross. This happens in a justice system, other people paying others debts.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (NASB) Isaiah 55:7-8 God gave his only son to die on the cross for our sins so we may be worthy to be in his presence it does not matter about justice because in the end we are all unjust compared with god and if we only compare with him we are no higher than each other.... Lets say a daughter or son was accused of murder or theft and we could see all the good in them the person before the sin the person before the corrupt and we have this deep connection with our children and we say no I shall take there consequence they are my creation I will take there punishment because I love you so much and I can see so much you can do for my name. We are the children and and God loves us For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (NASB) John 3:16-18

How to get to heaven:
1- Believe that Jesus is God (John 1:1), (John 1:14) who died on the cross for our sins (2 Cor 5:18), (2 Cor 5:21) and rose again (Acts 3:15), (John 3:18)
2- Know that you are a sinner in need of a saviour and can’t get to heaven by doing good (Eph 2:8), (Rom 3:23)
3-Love God with all of your heart and soul and mind and truly love your neighbour as yourself (Matthew 25:32-40), (1 John 3:18-23)
