We both even worked for Joyce Meyer for a time but God was so merciful to us and opened our eyes in 2015. One of the prosperity preachers favorite verse in the Bible is 3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Prosper in the Greek is Euodoō (G2137) compound of G2095=Eu, meaning good or well. And G3598 Hodos meaning “Way” or “road” Prosper is not our word prosper and not our word health. The word prosper is Euodoō , it’s constructed from Eu (well) and hodos (way). Put the word together it’s Euodoō in the original Greek Bible. Hodos is the common Greek word for “way”. It’s the same word Jesus used when he said, “I am the way” in John 14:6. And Eu means “well”. We see that on our word Eulogy. A eulogy is when you stand at a funeral and say well logos (words), well words over someone who died. Jesus said “I am the way (Hodos). He said there was a narrow Hodos (way) and a broad Hodos (way. So what John was wishing for gaius was the well way which is Christ. Also health is in the Greek “hugiano” meaning healthy words, uncorrupt words Prosperity preachers use that to say God is wishing for us to prosper and have money and physical health. It has nothing to do with money and physical health.
My dad taught me what John the Baptist preached. When Jesus was becoming well known and John the Baptist less known, John says this is how it should be. Less of us and more of Jesus.

My mom is a part of a church that is with the prosperity movement. I’ve not been there, but I know by the way she speaks, that she is and she can be very forceful about certain things and has talked about “name it claim it”, while Jesus is ENOUGH and I accept whatever will he does have for me! I’ve been praying Jesus will guide me through a conversation with her so I can remain firm in my walk with Jesus, I just don’t know how to have this conversation yet, so I will keep praying and asking for guidance. I pray Jesus opens her eyes.

I love how it confronts prosperity theology with the biblical gospel and serves as a powerful catalyst for proclaiming Christ to a twisted and materialistic culture. Amazing content, John MacArthur was crucial in me leaving the New Apostolic Reformation and prosperity preaching as well. Costi's testimony is a wonderful example of grace in the hearts of the deceived.

Prosperity gospel is asking people to give you things so that they will be blessed, prosperity gospel is saying the point of you giving is to buy the blessings of God. There's no such promise here, no such promise that when you give to Anchored north you will invoke the blessings of God, you will receive wealth after giving. What you just said is so damaging, there are true churches who are in debt because people have been jaded by the prosperity gospel and have forgotten the reason to give in the first place, both you and people who give so they can get blessed are very much in the wrong.

He was my role model, until one night I saw a huge demon that looked like a court jester laughing at me, while my TV was on TBN showing a conference Hinn and Jakes spoke at, which was in 1997. That was a sign that I had to get out of the movement. Never looked back since
The teaching of favor brought me PTSD, and between faith healing and “deliverance,” I’ve had people treat me like a medical case due to my stuttering. It was coming to a moment in 2020 and God placing certain teachers in my path that brought me back to reading The Bible, and believing the Gospel.
@@michaelreed4744 Basically, it is a teaching where they say God is going to bring favor everywhere one goes including promotion and insert any other similar promise in there. While I do believe God will provide and can open doors in places such as the workforce, it is not a universal promise as they teach it. Moreover, either the Old Testament is twisted for their teaching, or passages about suffering are avoided. In my case, while I was blessed in the job, I ultimately found myself abused, while in the exact same position for many years. And for years, I kept on believing God will have me promoted in spite of dealing with unprofessional behavior, that I still deal with the effects of.
Tomorrow I have to go in for a D&C because of a molar pregnancy that they want to check for possible cancer. I just found out today that the babies heart isn't beating. At 10 weeks pregnant I measure 6 weeks pregnant with no heartbeat. I was prepared mentally for a miscarriage, I was not prepared to hear possible cancer. This scares me. But my mother in law is into the prosperity preaching. She follows Kenneth Copeland, Jesse duplantis, Dutch sheets....all of them. When I told her it could be cancer she said, "I do not claim that". I told her that God will do whatever he is going to do and that I have full faith even unto death that he has a reason for it all. I am trying to open her eyes. Claiming this won't be cancer, won't make this less possibly cancerous. Believing that when reality might actually be the opposite is deception. When I told her originally that I was pregnant but I am advanced in age so there is a high chance I could have a miscarriage she said we won't talk like that. As if us speaking the very reality that advanced maternal age can bring about higher rates of miscarriage will somehow jinx the pregnancy. I believe in speaking reality and having full faith in God that no matter what, He is still good, he is still in control, and he has reasons for everything. If we could name and claim (declare and decree) all storms away, we won't have rain to bring about a harvest. The storms are where we grow. I really pray that God can open my mother and father in laws eyes to this deception. Here I am looking to be put under and tested for cancer tomorrow and my mind is more concerned with my family being deceived. I am so happy that my husband can now see past this. Don't people realize that Jesus didn't teach wealth and prosperity for his followers but, in fact, the exact opposite? This very very much concerns me.
God bless you God is with you. Don’t be afraid to ask God to take away the cancer. We know of course He is able. Ask Him if it be His will and that His name be glorified in any healing as He loves you very much.

I am now petitioning that if it is His will He'd grant me one more baby. I trust that He will help heal this want if a baby is not His will for this season in my life. Ooh Glory be to God that it's not cancer. And yes you've got it right, God doesn't promise us prosperity and wealth at all costs but he does say bring everything to him in prayer. And then as Christians we are to say God is good no matter what his answer is, unlike prosperity gospel that says God wil never say no. So it must be your sin, your not giving, your not having faith that is the reason you haven't turned your answer. Those things are supported in the Bible so they think they're right. But there's one more, God is sovereign and all knowing. You're not rich and in good health because you paid him and claimed and received. I first heard messages about prosperity gospel I must admit I thought it meant they think we should stop praying because God does whatever he wants (and not in love or in his all knowingness) , or that they were trying to say God doesn't bless people or more importantly he doesn't have the power to bless people which is wrong so you keep on rejecting the anti prosperity gospel message until the English starts to make sense and you realise they mean the pay /give to God to be blessed gospel is false. That all blessings you have received is not out of God's goodness but because he's paying you back like he owes something (Some prosperity teacher has probably said something like, "God doesn't owe anybody. What you give he'll give back to you a hundred fold "😭) I've been saying things that are anti prosperity gospel without realising for a while, but people around me kept shutting that down as I didn't even know it was anti prosperity I just thought it was biblical. For example giving so that my church can pay bills. But when I fell on hard times being told by people (not the church, but other Christians with Prosperity Gospel view ) that if I give I'll have more money, and I said no, I'm giving out of my own heart and they argued back that the Bible says he'll give you back, stuff out of context about God saying people have robbed him by not paying tithe and how he said he will bless those who give, THEREFORE I must be broke because I don't give and to be blessed I need to give. I fell for it temporarily like yes I need to give to get more (mind you I pay a tenth because I want to help anyway). And I literally thought, ok, God pay me back for what I've done before..😅💀 People around me talk like your mother in-law as well, when the answer isn't coming they think it's cos I've not claimed and received enough, or they start counting sins or they start saying positive confession over anything you say and say something bad happened because you said it. They've totally abandoned the true power of God and it is now words and incantations that blessed us. Even the blessings is no longer by God's grace and goodness, but it's because of words and positive confession😢

I have another exciting update! Today I am 13 weeks and two days pregnant. Baby is healthy. We had genetics testing done (none invasive) and all results that have come back have shown a health baby. Heartbeat has been strong since our first appointment at 6.5 weeks. It looks as though God saw it fit to bless us with our rainbow baby afterall. God is good...ALL the time.

For you, petitioning means "begging God emotionally, and asking His will to be done", while demanding means "commanding God to do it for You". That's not how God works. Lord, please save me from these goons, but if it is your will for me to die, let it be done, In Jesus' Name, Amen; OR B. Christianity is about Power in the Holy Ghost, and not timidity, weakness, or self-pity (Acts 1:8). Telling God want you want isn't a sin, because God is our Father and we are His children. 2 Cor. 6:18. Jesus said whatever we ask in His name, He will do it (John 14:13). No matter how much a person prays, if a man keeps thinking in his heart that he might/will die of an illness, I can tell you he will. Because as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Prov. 23:7. If you think and believe you will get better while praying to God, you will get better. If a person unfortunately is diagnosed with a sickness: Fear response: God, please I am sick, please save me. Please heal me, I don't want to die. In Jesus' Name, Amen. Faith response: Father, I reject the negative report of the doctor, In Jesus' Name, Amen. I cannot be sick, I cannot die, because your word says in Isaiah 53:5 that you were wounded on the cross so that I can be healed, therefore I know that my healing is coming. The person with the faith response denies the sickness even though he sees the symptoms because he knows that the sickness is just for a season, that he will receive His healing and will be well one day, and not die, because God does not wish that his children perish. After all Psalm 30:5 says "weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning". If you know your joyous morning is coming, then this boosts your faith, because God works by faith. Heb. 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. If you want to obtain a good report, the believe that God will heal you against all odds, never doubt that God will heal you, or that he will allow you to die as it is His will. This is how faith through Jesus' Christ our Lord works. Faith looks like making demands on God, but this is totally different from "commanding" God to help You. Faith is "Lord I ask that You.....", commanding is "Lord I command You to.....", which of course is wrong. You cannot emotionally blackmail God to help you, and you cannot command God to help you. You can only receive what you want from God by faith through Jesus Christ. God loves us and so He wants to help us. God doesn't need us, but we need God.
Well done! Coming from a church that was influenced by many teachings, God called me and saved me! Like Costi, I was faced with truth and it truly saved me. I pray this is used to rescue people out of these movements.

This just brings me too tears. I grew up in a church like this. This is wickedness. The people in that ministry will never know the truth. It all about healing, wreath, and prosperity. I'm so thankful that God saved me from the deception. I pray for those people.
I agree that prosperity isn't important. But God does want to heal people, and He still heals today. I've witnessed miracles. John MacArthur goes too far down the spectrum that God doesn't heal or speak today anymore, which is probably worse than the prosperity gospel in my opinion. I am a Catholic, we never had this sort of Prosperity Gospel - or maybe we did, a version of it in the 16 hundreds and that was a huge part of the reason Martin Luther split from our Church and founded Protestantism. I commend this young man, truly a committed man of God, for setting the record straight
And so much more does the Lord wish to reveal to this man. This is only the beginning. Praying for his full conversion to the truth Jesus showed us, and is.

This gospel, was a reason I attempted suicide. ( prosperity gospel) I was only child and a lot of hurt confusion and I was tired of the cult. I wish I could have found freedom through you and JMaC that I have now for my teen years. I went through so much depression stress and confusion.
I can empathize with you because I too suffered many bouts of depression as a teen who accepted Jesus Christ at age 16. Watching Benny Hinn religiously messed up my mind. I was filled with fear and anxiety that I would lose my salvation. one night in 1997 I was watching a word Faith movement conference on TBN that featured T.D. Jakes and Benny Hinn when a huge ugly demon appeared in front of the TV laughing at me. It looked like the Joker from batman. That would be one of the tipping points for me to abandon the prosperity gospel cult and Benny Hinn

It's great that you are in support of Christians against these con men. Although I'm no longer a Christian, anything that brings people together in support of each other is valuable. @@Hbinky salam, I am glad you are showing interest in islam. No that is not the case. There is no religious hierarchy in islam (such as popes, bishops or such). Imams lead the prayer and offer a quick reminder for their faith, but that is all. In case there is a muslim regime, there is no extortion or price for entry to heaven. All muslims are required to give 2.5% of their earnings as Zakat, a form of charity for the needy and less affluent people. Interest (riba, usury) is highly forbidden to be received or paid. Although there will always be conmen in every part of the world, including bad muslims who do not act according to religion, and people whose only purpose is to swindle people out of their money.

As Christians we believe that Satan is the root of all evil. Well that is contrary to the word of god. The Bible clearly says that the love of money is the root of all evil, not Satan. I did a video on this, supported by scripture, please watch, like, share, and subscribe.

I believe once saved always saved and im free from fear of hell. I mainly watched andrew farley to come to this and now the bible makes alot of sense to me. Still questioning though i grew up half in the pentecost more sided church but thankfully also with alot of grace teaching.

As someone who spent 30 years or more in the WOF prosperity gospel, being raised in Ed Dufresne’s church and who attended Benny Hinn crusades, Kenneth Hagin meetings, a former member and former staff of Kenneth Copeland ministries I am so glad to be out of that nonsense. I like you Costi had things happen that I began to question things. Keep up the ministry brother. Thank you for all you do. My only issue with my faith now, is I’ve realized recently men like JP, John MacArthur believe in predestination, and I can’t wrap my head around a loving merciful God would predestine someone to Hell.

Emotionally charged, they say your prosperity, wealth, health and blessings is depending on you givjng your belongings and your time. There's no such promise here, no such promise that when you give to Anchored north you will invoke the blessings of God, you will receive wealth after giving. You will be personally blessed. What you just said is so damaging, there are true churches who are in debt because people have been jaded by the prosperity gospel and have forgotten the reason to give in the first place, both you and people who give so they can get blessed are very much in the wrong. You have totally gone the opposite way of the message. People are still in need, give out of the goodness of your heart, not because you're paying God for the blessings you want. And make sure you're not giving to a church that scares you and teaches you that's why you should give (for prosperity here on earth), also give to a church that's transparent about what they're doing. If your pastor is living in a $2million mansion, has an helicopter and is saying you can be like him when you give then run. There is no promise of material wealth and health in their petition asking people to help their mission, you don't have to help, you are half right, some people will see the message and God will answer Anchored Norths prayer by moving the hearts of people to help.
I think I fell victim to prosperity gospel recently. A far more subtle version of it but yeah. I’m crushed in spirit now, but in this pain I’m realizing I have become selfish. I was wrong. I got mad at God until I wasn’t. I am now mad at western churches. But I’m trying to take my own responsibility too. Some of these pastors I don’t think are even doing it on purpose. But it’s happening.
In the beginning he preached well but as his ministry grew he started changing one video I saw him curse all those who oppose his ministry with death and even cancern since then I don't follow his ministry anymore let's pray for him so that he may encounter the great I am

I mathew 18 a word of faith teacher at a teen challenge I worked at in youngstown ohio. Brought detailed truth to the teacher and my leadership. They would not change and I had to leave. I would not be a part of this ...and pray I did everything I could to change it... I believe that teacher is still there and donating lots of money to the organization smh.
I have a great way to stop these mega preachers from taking your money - simply find needy people, particularly those with children. Good to tithe this way as you know it's doing real good, not paying for the pastor's private jet!
My ex in-laws were into the prosperity Gospel which was twinned with their total involvement in Amway: monetary wealth being the sign of God's annointing.
I was in this church a few years ago. Beautiful Christians but there was one thing that I felt uncomfortable with- money. There was always a collection of some sort. I'm a firm believer of tithing-no problem at all. But there's also a mission Sunday collection which is ok coz it's once a month, and a collection to support another church in a third world country. Plus, a collection for a visiting evangelist or pastor which happens about twice a month. Then, there's a declaration of money coming your way. Some pastors boast of how many houses they have been blessed with. It was becoming uncomfortable because my unbelieving husband was with me.
There are lots of fundraisers dressed up as pastors, and they know exactly what you want to hear. So here you are thinking the spirit is leading, and the whole time it's well-orchestrated extraction of your funds.
I am a Buddhist and I absolutely adore Jesus and his teachings. Jesus and the Buddha have so many things in common with their teachings. How can someone like Benny Hinn make such a mockery of something so holy? No wonder so many young people are leaving the Christian church.
Difference between Jesus and buddha : Jesus saves and buddha cannot In Christianity salvation is free but in buddhism you work for “salvation”. Jesus is the only way friend 😊

One of the prosperity preachers favorite verse in the Bible is 3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Prosper in the Greek is Euodoō (G2137) compound of G2095=Eu, meaning good or well.
And G3598 Hodos meaning “Way” or “road”
Prosper is not our word prosper and not our word health.
The word prosper is Euodoō , it’s constructed from Eu (well) and hodos (way).
Put the word together it’s Euodoō in the original Greek Bible.
Hodos is the common Greek word for “way”. It’s the same word Jesus used when he said, “I am the way” in John 14:6.
And Eu means “well”. We see that on our word Eulogy. A eulogy is when you stand at a funeral and say well logos (words), well words over someone who died.
Jesus said “I am the way (Hodos). He said there was a narrow Hodos (way) and a broad Hodos (way.
So what John was wishing for gaius was the well way which is Christ.
Also health is in the Greek “hugiano” meaning healthy words, uncorrupt words
Prosperity preachers use that to say God is wishing for us to prosper and have money and physical health. It has nothing to do with money and physical health.
My dad taught me what John the Baptist preached. When Jesus was becoming well known and John the Baptist less known, John says this is how it should be. Less of us and more of Jesus.

My mom is a part of a church that is with the prosperity movement. I’ve not been there, but I know by the way she speaks, that she is and she can be very forceful about certain things and has talked about “name it claim it”, while Jesus is ENOUGH and I accept whatever will he does have for me! I’ve been praying Jesus will guide me through a conversation with her so I can remain firm in my walk with Jesus, I just don’t know how to have this conversation yet, so I will keep praying and asking for guidance. I pray Jesus opens her eyes.

I am a Bahamian. I was a Benny Hinn junkie for a few years in the mid nineties. Watched his telecasts religiously. He was my role model, until one night I saw a huge demon that looked like a court jester laughing at me, while my TV was on TBN showing a conference Hinn and Jakes spoke at, which was in 1997. The teaching of favor brought me PTSD, and between faith healing and “deliverance,” I’ve had people treat me like a medical case due to my stuttering. It was coming to a moment in 2020 and God placing certain teachers in my path that brought me back to reading The Bible, and believing the Gospel.

@@michaelreed4744 Basically, it is a teaching where they say God is going to bring favor everywhere one goes including promotion and insert any other similar promise in there. While I do believe God will provide and can open doors in places such as the workforce, it is not a universal promise as they teach it. Moreover, either the Old Testament is twisted for their teaching, or passages about suffering are avoided. In my case, while I was blessed in the job, I ultimately found myself abused, while in the exact same position for many years. And for years, I kept on believing God will have me promoted in spite of dealing with unprofessional behavior, that I still deal with the effects of.
It's a shame there's not a button greater than just "like" for this!!
Tomorrow I have to go in for a D&C because of a molar pregnancy that they want to check for possible cancer. I just found out today that the babies heart isn't beating. At 10 weeks pregnant I measure 6 weeks pregnant with no heartbeat. I was prepared mentally for a miscarriage, I was not prepared to hear possible cancer. This scares me. But my mother in law is into the prosperity preaching. She follows Kenneth Copeland, Jesse duplantis, Dutch sheets....all of them. When I told her it could be cancer she said, "I do not claim that". I told her that God will do whatever he is going to do and that I have full faith even unto death that he has a reason for it all. I am trying to open her eyes. Claiming this won't be cancer, won't make this less possibly cancerous. Believing that when reality might actually be the opposite is deception. When I told her originally that I was pregnant but I am advanced in age so there is a high chance I could have a miscarriage she said we won't talk like that. As if us speaking the very reality that advanced maternal age can bring about higher rates of miscarriage will somehow jinx the pregnancy. I believe in speaking reality and having full faith in God that no matter what, He is still good, he is still in control, and he has reasons for everything. If we could name and claim (declare and decree) all storms away, we won't have rain to bring about a harvest. The storms are where we grow. I really pray that God can open my mother and father in laws eyes to this deception. Here I am looking to be put under and tested for cancer tomorrow and my mind is more concerned with my family being deceived. I am so happy that my husband can now see past this. Don't people realize that Jesus didn't teach wealth and prosperity for his followers but, in fact, the exact opposite? This very very much concerns me.
God bless you God is with you. Don’t be afraid to ask God to take away the cancer. We know of course He is able. Ask Him if it be His will and that His name be glorified in any healing as He loves you very much.

Ooh Glory be to God that it's not cancer. And yes you've got it right, God doesn't promise us prosperity and wealth at all costs but he does say bring everything to him in prayer. And then as Christians we are to say God is good no matter what his answer is, unlike prosperity gospel that says God wil never say no. So it must be your sin, your not giving, your not having faith that is the reason you haven't turned your answer. Those things are supported in the Bible so they think they're right. But there's one more, God is sovereign and all knowing. You're not rich and in good health because you paid him and claimed and received.
I first heard messages about prosperity gospel I must admit I thought it meant they think we should stop praying because God does whatever he wants (and not in love or in his all knowingness) , or that they were trying to say God doesn't bless people or more importantly he doesn't have the power to bless people which is wrong so you keep on rejecting the anti prosperity gospel message until the English starts to make sense and you realise they mean the pay /give to God to be blessed gospel is false. That all blessings you have received is not out of God's goodness but because he's paying you back like he owes something (Some prosperity teacher has probably said something like, "God doesn't owe anybody. What you give he'll give back to you a hundred fold "😭)
I've been saying things that are anti prosperity gospel without realising for a while, but people around me kept shutting that down as I didn't even know it was anti prosperity I just thought it was biblical. For example giving so that my church can pay bills. But when I fell on hard times being told by people (not the church, but other Christians with Prosperity Gospel view ) that if I give I'll have more money, and I said no, I'm giving out of my own heart and they argued back that the Bible says he'll give you back, stuff out of context about God saying people have robbed him by not paying tithe and how he said he will bless those who give, THEREFORE I must be broke because I don't give and to be blessed I need to give. I fell for it temporarily like yes I need to give to get more (mind you I pay a tenth because I want to help anyway). And I literally thought, ok, God pay me back for what I've done before..😅💀
People around me talk like your mother in-law as well, when the answer isn't coming they think it's cos I've not claimed and received enough, or they start counting sins or they start saying positive confession over anything you say and say something bad happened because you said it. They've totally abandoned the true power of God and it is now words and incantations that blessed us. Even the blessings is no longer by God's grace and goodness, but it's because of words and positive confession😢

I have another exciting update! Today I am 13 weeks and two days pregnant. Baby is healthy. We had genetics testing done (none invasive) and all results that have come back have shown a health baby. Heartbeat has been strong since our first appointment at 6.5 weeks. It looks as though God saw it fit to bless us with our rainbow baby afterall. God is good...ALL the time.

For you, petitioning means "begging God emotionally, and asking His will to be done", while demanding means "commanding God to do it for You". That's not how God works. God works not by emotions, but by faith. Heb. 11:6. Let's say some goons want to kill a believer and rob him of his property. How should he pray?
A. Lord, please save me from these goons, but if it is your will for me to die, let it be done, In Jesus' Name, Amen; OR
B. Lord, your word says in Isaiah 41:10 that I should not fear, for You are with me; that I should not be dismayed, for You are my God, that You will strengthen and help me; and uphold me with Your righteous right hand. Therefore I shall not fear, because I know that you will deliver me from the goons, In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Lord, you word also says in Psalms 34:17 that when the righteous cry out, and You hear them; that You deliver them from ALL their troubles. Therefore I know I shall come out victorious, In Jesus' Name, Amen.
The first option shows fear and not faith in God. For faith to work, you must believe that God will surely deliver you, even though it doesn't seem so yet. If you are aware that God loves you, and that he will never want anything bad to happen to you, then option B will be that man's prayer. Faith is absolute, it has no alternatives, it dosen't doubt.
Christianity is about Power in the Holy Ghost, and not timidity, weakness, or self-pity (Acts 1:8). As Believers we are not at the mercy of the devil, evil or the world, cos we are only at the mercy of Our Maker (God Almighty).
Telling God want you want isn't a sin, because God is our Father and we are His children. 2 Cor. 6:18. Jesus said whatever we ask in His name, He will do it (John 14:13). No matter how much a person prays, if a man keeps thinking in his heart that he might/will die of an illness, I can tell you he will. Because as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Prov. 23:7. If you think and believe you will get better while praying to God, you will get better.
If a person unfortunately is diagnosed with a sickness:
Fear response: God, please I am sick, please save me. Please heal me, I don't want to die. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Faith response: Father, I reject the negative report of the doctor, In Jesus' Name, Amen. I cannot be sick, I cannot die, because your word says in Isaiah 53:5 that you were wounded on the cross so that I can be healed, therefore I know that my healing is coming.
The person with the faith response denies the sickness even though he sees the symptoms because he knows that the sickness is just for a season, that he will receive His healing and will be well one day, and not die, because God does not wish that his children perish. After all Psalm 30:5 says "weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning". If you know your joyous morning is coming, then this boosts your faith, because God works by faith.
Heb. 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.
If you want to obtain a good report, the believe that God will heal you against all odds, never doubt that God will heal you, or that he will allow you to die as it is His will. This is how faith through Jesus' Christ our Lord works.
Faith looks like making demands on God, but this is totally different from "commanding" God to help You. Faith is "Lord I ask that You.....", commanding is "Lord I command You to.....", which of course is wrong.
You cannot emotionally blackmail God to help you, and you cannot command God to help you. You can only receive what you want from God by faith through Jesus Christ.
God loves us and so He wants to help us. God doesn't need us, but we need God.
Well done! Coming from a church that was influenced by many teachings, God called me and saved me! Like Costi, I was faced with truth and it truly saved me. I pray this is used to rescue people out of these movements.
Jesus said; “No longer do I call you slaves, but friends”.

This just brings me too tears. I grew up in a church like this. This is wickedness. The people in that ministry will never know the truth. It all about healing, wreath, and prosperity. I'm so thankful that God saved me from the deception. I pray for those people.
I agree that prosperity isn't important. But God does want to heal people, and He still heals today. I've witnessed miracles. John MacArthur goes too far down the spectrum that God doesn't heal or speak today anymore, which is probably worse than the prosperity gospel in my opinion. I can empathize with you because I too suffered many bouts of depression as a teen who accepted Jesus Christ at age 16. Watching Benny Hinn religiously messed up my mind. I was filled with fear and anxiety that I would lose my salvation. one night in 1997 I was watching a word Faith movement conference on TBN that featured T.D. Jakes and Benny Hinn when a huge ugly demon appeared in front of the TV laughing at me. It looked like the Joker from batman. That would be one of the tipping points for me to abandon the prosperity gospel cult and Benny Hinn

Costi Hinn repented and he now preaches the true gospel. May God open the spiritual eyes of those that are misleading people. That's why it is important to read the Bible so when someone preaches the wrong teachings we can identify wrong from true. 2 Corinthians 11:4, Galatians 1:6-9

@@Hbinky salam, I am glad you are showing interest in islam. No that is not the case. There is no religious hierarchy in islam (such as popes, bishops or such). Imams lead the prayer and offer a quick reminder for their faith, but that is all. In case there is a muslim regime, there is no extortion or price for entry to heaven.
All muslims are required to give 2.5% of their earnings as Zakat, a form of charity for the needy and less affluent people.
Interest (riba, usury) is highly forbidden to be received or paid.
Although there will always be conmen in every part of the world, including bad muslims who do not act according to religion, and people whose only purpose is to swindle people out of their money.

I appreciate your honesty about prosperity preaching, sadly many are duped and lost forever because they can’t see the light.
One of the prosperity preachers favorite verse in the Bible is 3John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Prosper in the Greek is Euodoō (G2137) compound of G2095=Eu, meaning good or well.
And G3598 Hodos meaning “Way” or “road”
Prosper is not our word prosper and not our word health.
The word prosper is Euodoō , it’s constructed from Eu (well) and hodos (way).
Put the word together it’s Euodoō in the original Greek Bible.
Hodos is the common Greek word for “way”. It’s the same word Jesus used when he said, “I am the way” in John 14:6.
And Eu means “well”. We see that on our word Eulogy. A eulogy is when you stand at a funeral and say well logos (words), well words over someone who died.
Jesus said “I am the way (Hodos). He said there was a narrow Hodos (way) and a broad Hodos (way.
So what John was wishing for gaius was the well way which is Christ.
Also health is in the Greek “hugiano” meaning healthy words, uncorrupt words
Prosperity preachers use that to say God is wishing for us to prosper and have money and physical health. It has nothing to do with money and physical health.
There's no one that's beyond the reach of God. Pray for them.

I have followed a church that is like this for a few couple years but later realised I can directly talk to him if I only opened the word.
I believe once saved always saved and im free from fear of hell. I mainly watched andrew farley to come to this and now the bible makes alot of sense to me. Still questioning though i grew up half in the pentecost more sided church but thankfully also with alot of grace teaching.
Why is this only 15 min? I need more. As someone who spent 30 years or more in the WOF prosperity gospel, being raised in Ed Dufresne’s church and who attended Benny Hinn crusades, Kenneth Hagin meetings, a former member and former staff of Kenneth Copeland ministries I am so glad to be out of that nonsense. I like you Costi had things happen that I began to question things. Keep up the ministry brother. Thank you for all you do. My only issue with my faith now, is I’ve realized recently men like JP, John MacArthur believe in predestination, and I can’t wrap my head around a loving merciful God would predestine someone to Hell.

Asking donations is no different than prosperity gospel preacher. My humble opinion. Trust God to preach good news without asking donation. If you are preaching good news, well we must pick up odd jobs to pay for the projects, well that is what we must do. Who knows, God may send you someone to you.

Prosperity gospel is not a church/group asking for help. Prosperity gospel is asking people to give you things SO THAT they will be blessed, prosperity gospel is saying the point of you giving is to buy the blessings of God. Emotionally charged, they say your prosperity, wealth, health and blessings is depending on you givjng your belongings and your time.
There's no such promise here, no such promise that when you give to Anchored north you will invoke the blessings of God, you will receive wealth after giving. You will be personally blessed.
What you just said is so damaging, there are true churches who are in debt because people have been jaded by the prosperity gospel and have forgotten the reason to give in the first place, both you and people who give so they can get blessed are very much in the wrong. You have totally gone the opposite way of the message.
People are still in need, give out of the goodness of your heart, not because you're paying God for the blessings you want. And make sure you're not giving to a church that scares you and teaches you that's why you should give (for prosperity here on earth), also give to a church that's transparent about what they're doing. If your pastor is living in a $2million mansion, has an helicopter and is saying you can be like him when you give then run.
There is no promise of material wealth and health in their petition asking people to help their mission, you don't have to help, you are half right, some people will see the message and God will answer Anchored Norths prayer by moving the hearts of people to help.
I think I fell victim to prosperity gospel recently. A far more subtle version of it but yeah. I’m crushed in spirit now, but in this pain I’m realizing I have become selfish. I was wrong. I got mad at God until I wasn’t. I am now mad at western churches. But I’m trying to take my own responsibility too. Some of these pastors I don’t think are even doing it on purpose. But it’s happening.
In the beginning he preached well but as his ministry grew he started changing one video I saw him curse all those who oppose his ministry with death and even cancern since then I don't follow his ministry anymore let's pray for him so that he may encounter the great I am
These people grieve my spirit and it makes me cry Jesus Christ is coming back and not for the fake or the false

I mathew 18 a word of faith teacher at a teen challenge I worked at in youngstown ohio. Brought detailed truth to the teacher and my leadership. They would not change and I had to leave. I would not be a part of this ...and
pray I did everything I could to change it... I believe that teacher is still there and donating lots of money to the organization smh.

I was in this church a few years ago. Beautiful Christians but there was one thing that I felt uncomfortable with- money. There was always a collection of some sort. I'm a firm believer of tithing-no problem at all. But there's also a mission Sunday collection which is ok coz it's once a month, and a collection to support another church in a third world country. Plus, a collection for a visiting evangelist or pastor which happens about twice a month. Then, there's a declaration of money coming your way. Some pastors boast of how many houses they have been blessed with. It was becoming uncomfortable because my unbelieving husband was with me.

There are lots of fundraisers dressed up as pastors, and they know exactly what you want to hear. So here you are thinking the spirit is leading, and the whole time it's well-orchestrated extraction of your funds.
I am a Buddhist and I absolutely adore Jesus and his teachings. Jesus and the Buddha have so many things in common with their teachings. How can someone like Benny Hinn make such a mockery of something so holy? No wonder so many young people are leaving the Christian church.

Jesus saves and buddha cannot
In Christianity salvation is free but in buddhism you work for “salvation”. Jesus is the only way friend 😊
