I LOVE shopping at thrift stores and I’ve been doing all these exact things my entire life! I am so grateful that my mother taught me to sew when I was eight years old and then in high school I had a three hour sewing class in my junior and senior year under the association in America that is called Future Homemakers of America. I never became a wife and homemaker, but I’ve been sewing ever since!

You are great with blending colours and your clothes fit you well . I particularly like the dresses you did blending fabrics . Good luck with all your creations remember not everything will turn out how we envisage things LOL

That man's shirt could still be upcycled into a woman's blouse (by using the back as the front and the front as the back). It will be more work; but, you could also bring the shirt's sleeve seams up to a much dresser level. Using it as fabric is good also. You do beautiful work.

Great video... love the Peter Pan/Mandarin collar personally, because you could not pay me to wear a V neck. I turn every sweater backwards which has the potential of a boatneck look. I like 3/4 sleeves because my arms don't look so great as they did in younger days. I am slim, but like a 'boyfriend shape' in tops, with the front being longer than the back. This to me looks good with pants, and I only ever wear very tailored pants which look made to measure. I've not worn a skirt in 20+ years. Love your ideas. TY for sharing and opening up my creative juices.

Wonderful! Thank you. Men’s shirts often have much nicer fabric and classic patterns/colors. I have access to a good thrift store with lots of men’s shirts and have often wanted to tailor them. This gives me confidence. 💗

Such beautiful ideas. I have a blouse my bonus son bought me while on vacation. It is way too big on me. I need to do this with that shirt. It is a man’s xxl. I think I cold do something big or make several items with it. Thank you for sharing your expert skills and ideas. This will help me to transform this into something I can wear. When you recut the armhole, you could use all that extra sleeve fabric to make a flutter sleeve. That peachy pink Hawaiian dress is amazing! Good stuff! Very inspiring. I subbed. Thank you.

You have a good eye for picking fabrics that go together really well!! When I first look at the choices you make I think, no they don't go together, then you sew them up, and wow I'm so impressed. Why can't I make better choices when combining to upcycle clothes!
I tend to pick fabrics that might one or two colours that are very close together, if they are two very loud fabrics I normally get more colours matching, I hope this helps, thank you lovely 😁❤️

Great work! Love your creativity and enthusiasm for recycling thrifted items into one of a kind pieces. Also love how happy you are with each of your creations. Would love to see how you take a piece out of the shoulder to narrow the neckline as I have narrow shoulders and run into this a lot.

My first time here - thank you for sharing your creations. I learned some good things. For one, you are not afraid to talk of wider hips/bust etc. I keep experimenting, trying to find ways to diminish my bulkier parts. LOL I might try more with the peplums.

Placket, center back and leave a longer “tail” in back.
Make the placket plain or a bow or a diamond with a button in the middle. Just ease the fabric in under the placket and sew.

The Indonesian shirt reminded me of a shirt my dad wore in the 70s and 80s then gave to my brother. I don't know where it is now but would love to use it for fabric and wearing that would always remind me of my dad and brother. ❤
