I’ve made dresses and skirts out of thrifted men’s button downs and also thrifted tablecloths. The embroidery work really makes the items unique and special and it’s so nice to see others creating beautiful garments out of these vintage and hand worked pieces.
Amazing show today!! I would buy ANYTHING by the makers you focused on. My daughter brought home an outstanding tablecloth from Switzerland. Lightweight pure white cotton cut work. Always have loved all types of linens and embroidery. Used to go to many estate sales in Oregon USA , I could never leave one behind…always felt they needed rescue 😊

My mother had me making some of the things being upcycled into new items for today. Without saying a word to anyone, Mom burned many of her old needle worked items and patterns. She was shocked to learn that many of those patterns are very expensive today. I'm very happy to see them reused. There is no telling how much of those items have already been burned or buried in dumps. I have seen some of it used as paint and oil rags. Thank you.
How sad, I don't understand why we don't give value to what we create, it is so sad. I am so happy many of these designers exist so we can appreciate them again. 😁❤️

My just donated me 6 garbage of clothes some for my brother ,my cousin and some for me and some for upcycling. Yes now I can start the new styles I wish to make. Yes just few pcs that fit more too down size. The beautiful fuchsia dress will have too taken apart at the sleeves with are capped sleeves. And I'm a size 16w petite and its size 20w. So the cap sleeves removed and take the shoulder seams up a bit. It has mock golden belt buckle. And another knit dress in multiple colored wave stripes I just hope mother with me in spirit while working on them. She had the talents too fix things for everyone perfectly. Out 10 dresses too upcycle in total. I will use the tank dress that fitted and a set in sweater dress for patterns. And another tank dress that has plastic rings for shoulder straps. And most of them are cotton t-shirt materials. And buy matching threads too start out.
