- Number 2 in our presentation is “The End Of The Innocence” which Bruce and Don Henley co-wrote, co-produced and performed for Don’s third solo studio album of the same name in 1989. Also featured in this performance is Bruce’s first instrumental “Song A” and a piece from Keith Jarrett’s Sun Bear Concerts, untitled (at least as far as we know).

Bruce has such a rare, unique, and wonderful gift.
"Come and take a long last look, before we say goodbye" Man, that just hits me hard. I always think of my beautiful wife of 40 years and how we need to soak up every minute of the time that we have left.
I had the great pleasure of seeing him live at a small concert venue at an arts center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in March of 2018. I still don't remember how I learned of the concert. We aren't concert people. But i bought tickets for my husband, myself, and our son. I requested a day off from work amd we hopped in the car and drove 5 hours to Grand Rapids. Of course Bruce played all of the hits, but his version of this song stood out to me the most. I am sad that our son, who was only 2.5 years old at the time, won't remember that experience.
There may have been about 500-700 people there.
It was intimate and perfect.
I am glad that we went to see this legendary artist.
God, that’s so stunningly beautiful. Your solo version brought me to tears. I just adore you. Your music moves me in ways no other artists can…you’ve touched my soul since I was a teenager in the early 80s. I guess that’s just the way it is. Thank you for so many years of musical magic.

Incredible version, few pianists are capable of making variations and changes of tone as Bruce does, it has reached such a high level that it makes you immerse yourself in the constellation of magical stars that he creates for all of us. Thanks for so much talent. A hug from Barcelona🌺

There's something special about a solo pianist in flight, especially one as tuneful and soulful as Bruce Hornsby. Just simple and beautiful.
I like how we just improvises on the fly. You can tell he just goes off into things he wants to do just immediately in his head. He expands so much on the feeling of the words and the song that we all thought was solely Don Henley's song.

I saw him in concert almost a couple months ago...was waiting for that moment for almost an entire year. He did not disappoint. He never does. His music soothes me in a way that even I can't explain. Hoping to see him with his band at some point. Thank you Bruce. Your music is simply magnificent.

There are great singers and great songwriters, but there’s only one Bruce Hornsby! - A truly extraordinary artist.
It's incredible how mr. Hornsby keeps his enormous amount of musical knowledge and improvisation so close to the heart.... I don't know many who can do that.
One of my favourite songs. I have only ever heard the Don Henley version, but now I can hear the Bruce Hornsby stamp on it. The musical improvisation is playful and full of soul, with surprising and discordant chords. Thank you for this beautiful performance.
The Henley version was much, much more a “hit” but this has always hit me much deeper…
You may know the back story but in short Don was visiting Bruce (they’re both from small Texas towns) who played the underlying harmony to which Don started hearing lyrics right away and had them pretty much completed by the time he arrived home…
Such talent and a pureness that never gets old… Forever a fan…

What your watching and listening to is musical perfection. But im reluctant to even say musical cause its much deeper than that. We as people recognize the heart and the soul smiles. For real. And yes pain can be overwhelming but life is so beautiful.
He performed a solo show at Southbank Centre in London UK, and it was such an amazing performance and treat. I never knew how insanely talented Bruce is. I mean insanely fast on the keys! I lived 25 miles south of Bruce's home and over those 18 years, I never had the time to ever see him perform (raising daughter and working). But I move to London in 2022 and amazingly, I'm just 7 rows away from the best show of my life. Thank you Bruce. You really inspired me to no end and made my year. Please return some time again. 💕

We have seen Bruce when he was young and he was the talk of the town, my wife gave him flowers that he placed on his piano at the arie crown, and have seen him with the dead and multiple times on his own, he has never seized to amazed us. May we all be allowed to hear that incredible tone for our lives are changed every time we hear it.
