  • I hit the jackpot for Pyrex and art glass and who doesn't love some sterling finds!
    Note: The green cracker jar appears to be Mosser which was founded in 1971 using old molds so I'm not sure of the age anymore.

      Hey there! Thank you very much for the kind words. There's just no telling what you will find when you walk into an estate sale--especially one for which there are few photos. I love the treasure hunt aspect.

      Hi Garland. I'm happy that you liked my finds this week. I had so much fun getting them. I think that it took me three trips to the car to load it all up.

      Hello, Sherry. Thank you very much for your note. I have so much fun attending all these sales. You never know when you are going to happen upon a really good sale such as this one. So many treasures! Good luck to you on your own treasure hunts.

    The Northwood Cherries, the Pyrex just Wow! I can't get over the prices. Pitcher looks like Blenko to me. The sterling is nice also.

      Hi Robin. It was such a good sale. They were supposed to start at 8 a.m. and changed their mind to start at noon. I was already there (the only one there) so they let me inside. Yippee!

      Hi Ruby. I'm so glad that you like it. It's the first thing that I saw in the dining room when I entered the house. I was hoping that it was for sale. Lucky me!

      Happy Belated Birthday, Bonnie! I hope that you did something fun. Maybe find a bunch of gold and sterling jewelry at the thrift store(s)? LOL.

    You did good. In general at least in my area yard sales seem to get bit worst each year. I mostly do thrift and flea markets anymore. I have found some great “sleepers” in flea markets. In my area the high end neighborhoods seem to invest most their money in the homes vs higher end antiques. Is lots reproductions eapg pieces out there but looks like someone already covered that in comments. Sterling seems to love you. Lol

      Thank you! I appreciate your message and thanks a BUNCH for watching my channel. I agree completely that the garage sales continue to be more abysmal year after year. It's as if everyone cleaned out their closets during the COVID shutdown, and there's nothing else to put into a sale, plus there are about 75% less garage sales in my town than there used to be. I agree also about the high end neighborhoods. Many of them spend all their money buying the house and have nothing left to buy furniture and decor. I am loving that I continue to find sterling. I think that once to start looking for it, you find it more often. I found a pair of 10K gold earrings for 50 cents today. No sterling though! LOL.

    The green opalescent pieces could be Mosser. Mosser started in 1971 in Cambridge, Ohio. They bought molds from prominent glass manufacturers. It could be the old stuff or Mosser. Mosser is marked with an M or an M inset in the outline of the state of Ohio. Mosser is still in production and is expensive. Not a glass expert. The Cherries pattern in depression glass is widely reproduced or faked and you have to compare it to book descriptions of the differences between old and reproduced. I wonder if the green will glow? Too much for a 70 year old brain of mine to remember.

      Hi Ricky. I finally did some research on some of the glass that I've been purchasing, and I thought that the green glass was likely Mosser too. I didn't realize that Mosser did new pieces. The glass is not uranium glass; it doesn't glow. The cracker jar has an "M" in the Ohio state shape. Thanks for letting me know!

      Hi Madison. I'm glad that you liked seeing my finds. Mom recovered quite well from her broken shoulder and never even mentions it now. Unfortunately, the trauma caused onset of dementia, so she can no longer live alone. I have her living with me most of the time with occasional visits to my brothers. It's one of the most difficult things that I have ever done. I would appreciate your prayers.

    You won't believe this but I bought 3 bottles of tequila for $5 each! I don't drink but I have a friend who loves the occasional margarita. I now have her next three birthday/ Christmas gifts. Now that is a first. ( Estate sale)

      Oh my. Ole! I'm surprised that the estate sale company sold the liquor.

    • @janejdough2230
      @janejdough2230 9 дней назад

      @@livingthegoodlifechannel It was run by family members. They also gave me a small bag of "airplane sized" bottles of various liquor. It was a hoarder situation. They said there was a shed in the back and a company hauled out 5 tonnes of garbage and then they leveled the building. You would never know it by looking at he outside of the yard etc.

    • @livingthegoodlifechannel
      @livingthegoodlifechannel  9 дней назад +1

      @@janejdough2230 Wow! Sometimes the hoarder houses can have a lot of good items and sometimes, it's a very sad situation. I'm finding that estate sale companies are using the term "hoarder" very broadly---usually just for people who have a lot of collections or substantial possessions. Not a hoarder situation at all.
