The Slot Machine will be considered as one of the greatest football teams of this generation. Probably about 18 million Dutch people have zero doubts about Arne. He is respected by anyone who knows him and for a good reason. What he achieved with those modest budgets and an inexperienced squads in AZ and Feyenoord used to be beyond imagination only a couple years ago. Imagine what he could do with a better budget… From now on he’ll do his research like a maniac and map out the perfect game plan for next season. I anyone can work it out it would be Arne.
I wish Arne and anyone who loves Liverpool the very best. This will be a match made in heaven if it’s up to Slot. You deserve each other, so please make it work!

The thing is, Michael Edwards came in after they started looking for a new manager. So it's highly likely he preferred Slot. Alonso doesn't really play the right way for the Liverpool squad. There would have to be a massive overhaul to get them playing the way he wants. Arne Slot's style is more suited and perhaps Edwards identified him because of that. One thing Liverpool don't want is to just dump half of what is already a very good squad, for the sake of a different playstyle. United and Chelsea's example are the red flags every other club needs to avoid.

Has he ever handled the kinda pressure he's gonna be under in the PL? Managing Liverpool, every game is gonna be like the toughest game he's ever managed in Holland. I mean Klopp at least had won the German league & took Dortmund to the CL final. Being honest, look I first travelled around love Holland in the early 1980's & I love the country & Dutch football but I'm looking at Ten Hag & I'm thinking, fella you're way outta your depth at utd. You can't learn on the job at this level, the first sign of weakness & player's won't play for you. When it got really tough, I think the Liverpool player's have dropped off because Klopps going. The structure behind Klopp at Liverpool will not change with his departure, and so I believe that Slot would have a great chance to be successful. I always argue that after Edwards left, following a rift with Klopp as the rumor suggests, Liverpool started risking in the transfer market, buying the likes of Darwin Nunez, Gravenberch, Gakpo, Szoboszlai, and Endo, who haven’t hit the levels of the players Edwards signed, like Van Dijk, Alisson, Mane, Salah, and Wijnaldum. Even the 100 million they wanted to use to buy Caicedo, I don’t think would have happened under Edwards. He has made a big impression at Feyenoord in the last 3 years with 2 prizes. He makes players better, they are much fitter. He always has his say in the media and is very intelligent in his answers. When Slot is thinking, he usually picks his ear or nose or first takes a sip of water.
Too bad he's leaving us, but I hope you have fun. I wish all the fans of Liverpool great succes the next season.

Well 'tot slot' in dutch means 'until the end' 'slot' itself can mean 'keyhole' or 'keylock' padlock maybe? So could be positive could be negative. As for the manager he lifted a bottom to mid ranged team to the top 5 and won Feyenoord their first league title in 10 years. He has a good footballing technique in his manner of play and talks the talk in front of the team and in front of the media. Couldn't ask for a better bloke to come to Liverpool. In Arne we trust! Bald Arne will Slot in very well & will sign on Tues 1400pm 07/05/24 & great Paisley2.0 era begins, as per FR, (top pundit of transfers).
    LFC are STILL IN IT.
Is it time to bring the 10 Kop-Kids Cup-Kings back?
LFC Team shot conversion rate must rise from 5% to 15% in run-in. Most creative team in world but blunted by having its best finisher injured for 3 months approx (Jota)
Being fit to play after injury is not same as being in top form. It takes a month to get hot as per Sir Kenny Daglish.
Jota injury & baby Gakpo's birth are why LFC lost as Mo's out of form. Mo's conversion rate before injury was 23% & now it's 6%.
If Jota had stayed fit, & Gakpo baby came a few hours later LFC wud be champs narrowly.
JOTA'S CONVERSION rate is 33%. (& on big chances Jota converts a world best 66%) - LFC has 1 worldy clinical finisher & ManC has 2 in Haaland & Alverez.
Anytime u win a cup & get into UCL, its a good season, so be grateful & stop moaning.
Legends Bobby Moore, Alan Ball, Emyln Hughes, Cyrille Regis & Geoff Astle all died before age 60 & never got to see their kids married or play footy with teenage grandkids.
Brighton will defeat Man C & Arsenal will be favourites & both have loseable games vs Spurs.
LFC have a 15% chance but its better than a 1% chance. U can't do much more when injuries rob u of ur top boys. Losing derbies akways hurt like toothache, get over it & pray 4 world peace to make good luck karma kop fans.
LFC has 10 Cup King KOP KIDS who will play in UCL next yr. FUTURE is VERY BRIGHT with bald ARNE SLOT the next Paisley 2.0. His 62% win rate is amazing (bossing a team without worldy stars to win titles & cups is amazing).

      The injuries cost LFC *BIG*
Fans forget how many times Trent rescued LFC, set up Salah or put a cross on VVD's plate. Jota goals were key pre injury, always great against a low block. Szboz was *on fire* pre injury, Konate was the same, Robbo was key part of assists, counters or low block shenanigans....all these players are out *at a key tine* and then take time to get back to form if they return.
Unfortunately, only City have a squad capable of losing 'key' players.
Add to that, the pressure of Klopp leaving (and story about Slot getting job). Remember when Ferguson announced his retirement? It was a disaster, they lost out big time. He *cancelled* his retirement for 3 years THEN when he DID retire, he announced it after they'd won/lost. He learned a lesson.
In this time of social media Klopp and LFC didn't have the choice to wait til end of season. He's a legend, it's understandable that wheels fell off at the end. Players loved him like we did👍❤️.

OF COURSE Liverpool FC is a tremendous bigger club than Feyenoord Rotterdam, and OF COURSE the will have their doubts over there, the fans i mean (and every body else) but me, i became a Liverpool fan since the final against Milan and im Feyenoord till i die since i saw Gerrard playing in De Kuip for the 1st time... I dont have doubts that Arne God will succeed but, there allways is bad luck. You never know.

For Slot to win things, it's beating two teams domestically, Man City w/Pep + $$ (powers) and Arsenal w/Arteta + their change in approach when spending $$. Reminder: Slot will still be working under a budget (that's top 7 on avg. in the premier league if not 10) just as Klopp did but will be expected to do better. It's all good for Edwards to filter down players with potential on his laptop that fit the club's budget, it's a whole new ball game coaching those players to hit their required heights like Klopp did (a hit rate that needs to be in the high 90s percentile). The last time a Dutch club won the CL was in 1995 (which means beating the likes of Real/PSG/Munich). Slots turn to turn us from doubters to believers. Time will tell.

Heck I wouldn't mind if he were the manager to be honest, I really think he's been a key ingredient to making the club a great place to be. Whoever comes in they will get my 💯 backing. I know that they will be welcomed and we will expect the best from them but we will give them one of the best fan bases in the game. You don't need to win trophies, just the Kop and our hearts. Lots of talk about the supposedly huge step from Feyenoord to Liverpool.
"Feyenoord is only regional" not true: Feyenoord has fans all over the Netherlands, Belgium and many other countries all over the world. Ajax has been much more successfull over the decades but Feyenoord is just as popular. And was the first to win the Europacup 1 (the old CL) and world cup in 1970. And they won the Uefacup twice (in '74 and 2002).
"The Eredivisie is just a small league", used to be true for many years but we've climbed to place nr 6 in the Uefa ranking right behind France. So it's the biggest of the smaller leagues.
"... so there's no way we can know how he'll perform in the PL" so how about looking at the 30 European cup matches in the last 3 seasons!? Eliminated Union Berlin (nr 5 Germany that season), Olympique Marseille (French nr 2), Lazio (Italian nr 2) and gave Shaktar Donetsk their largest defeat ever (7-1) to name a few. Except the last one all much richer clubs.
And Slot has been used to playing 2 matches a week. Performing even after hard European matches with as little as 60 hours recovery time. He has implemented Liverpool's intensity identity from the start at Feyenoord.
