I have ESR but not the lock, the magnetic lid version. It is by far the best. Drop protection, clean simple design that doesn’t stick to hairs, is able to stand on any side, has speaker holes, has a lanyard that aligns with the built in attachment point on the AirPods, has a stronger magnetic lid that is good enough for most drop situations, and no mechanical parts that can break. And it’s only like 10 on Amazon.
Yes! It’s a little bulkier than other cases I’ve tried, but it stays on well, the magnetic lock on the lid puts my mind at ease, and having magsafe is a great added bonus
Some user experience here: I have the Spigen version of the rugged silicone case. It works very well and prevents bud-hunting if the case drops and the carabiner is excellent for attaching it to the belt-loop and then put the case in the jeans front pocket. Also thanks to the silicone material, it will not slide off the table. The only gripes are that you need two hands or movements to pry open the 'flaps' before opening the case lid and that the exposed top side of the lid will get scratches from keys or other hard objects. But other than that, it is a great, practical case.
I have a different ESR case for my AirPods Pro 2 It works with MagSafe and it has magnets inside the lid to keep it shut and it works well. Drop it a few times and never had a problem with buds popping out (no scratches on the case either) 1.5 years later it looks brand new
I really appreciate your reviews and buy through your links, but the thing I often miss is, that you overlook the usecase of „sliding it in and out of a pocket easily“. My goto-case for my airpods is a thin seethrough case that doesn’t do more than protect from scratches from the keys in my pocket AND easily slides in and out of it. Silicone would be a nightmare compared…
After rocking a generic silicone case for over a year, I got fed up with the silicone stretching and no longer fitting. Looking for a hard case w/ no carabiner type protrusions, I got a case made by VRS design in grey. I liked the 2 tone aesthetic, and the surface is rough enough to give a secure grip when I go grab it. The case has been solid for me for the past 2 months. The only gripe ppl have for this case is that the grey coloring will darken due to absorbing oils from your skin, but I don't mind it as it reminds me of a patina finish that leather gets.
As tempting as it is to fidget by flipping an iPods charging case open and closed, this activates the case's connection to i-devices and Find My, running down the battery, eventually (so far as I've heard) leading to reduced battery health.
My go to for my Airpod Pro is the Caseology Vault. Love the textured grippy exterior that doesn't attract any dog hair, carabiner, and good protection.
I had an esr one and mine failed on me too after 3 months, but I talked to their customer service and no hesitation offered me another one for free. Good company.
Ive had my ESR Halo Lock Case for nearly 18 months and it still works fine. Its not the model you show ( the Green One ) it may be one of the earlier models, has all the cut outs etc. Have dropped it a ton of times and NO WAY my AirPods fall out and the lock is magnetic and works a treat and strong as 👊👊👊
great recommendations Aaron, I have a version of the ESR one n dropped it n same thing happened to me, its coz the latch might not be aligning correctly, if you manually just try n adjust it, it'll pop open correctly again, thanks for the quality content bro :D
I have the Esr flick lock for my AirPods 4. Managed to get them for under £10 from Esr on aliexpress, about half the normal price. So far so good, not too bulky and with the built in magnets I can charge my AirPods on an angled stand. Came with a nice wrist landyard, a cleaning brush and a removal tool. Doesn’t feel too bulky land easy to slide into your pocket.
I looked at the Spigen lock fit (just a stick on lock not a case), the ESR, & the Surfy, but ended up going w/ an R-fun that has a bar that slides over the top of the case to keep it locked & doesn’t have a carabiner nub. Reasonably grippy, been happy w/ it so far. $18. Obviously haven’t tested it as you would so don’t know how it stacks up disability wise.
Hey, so I’ve had great success with Bullstrap! It’s an all leather case, full grain, with extraordinary attention to detail. I would say they look even fancier than Mous.
Also, an add on to my previous comment, can you create a list of all the products you tested? Just so we as the consumer have awareness of what is out there?
Love my Pitaka case, BUT it scratches the case AND you can’t access the button… pulled it off the other day and was very annoyed with the number of scratches it caused.
Update: one caveat to the Catalyst: the loop for the carabiner can weaken over time. Alternatively, enough pressure can break the loop. Mine just gave with a minor accidental tug. The case is in tact, but the loop has a clean break. Kinda odd to explain, but reach out for more...if anyone's interested.
FYI, I cheated out on the spigen wetsuit case first. Dropped my AirPods, case went flying out and went butt hunting. Got the catalyst and never had that problem again. Lesson here: don’t cheap out. buy once, cry once.
Monty's baaaaaccckkkkkkk!!

Same! And sticks to MagSafe great
I have this one as well!

Agreed just got the same one and it’s fantastic! Thought about the one with the lock but it’s too bulky

I have two ESR Halolocks for years and they are still fine, though i didnt do anything remotely close to how your testing regiment is
What do you recommend as a complete replacement case to hold AirPods 2? Anything with a larger battery and Qi charging?
Surphy link isn’t working. Maybe delisted on Amazon?
MONTY!!! Great to see you, kind sir!

Aaron, love this. The fact you have the Catalyst Waterproof case in the lineup keeps you as one of my favorite Tubers. Keep it up. 👍🏾
Caudabe is my favorite
I have the ESR lock top version. No issues whatsoever.
How do you feel about that Zeehoo 3 in 1 charger? Appears to be an affordable price on Amazon, would you recommend?

Your dog is the second cutest pet in the world.

yeah I agree... love the locking aspect on mine
Totally love your reviews. A suggestion: Could you review the best USB Foldable keyboards on Amazon?
I’ve had Mous and ESR and currently run the Caudabe Mezzo. Not too bulky and adds the extra bit of grip i was looking for.
Straight to the point, thanks
im from China, i bought the exact same case by surphy. cost around 6 us dollars. i wonder how much u bought?
In the UK £14 ( US $18 )

Aaron, do you sell your shirts/merch?

my bellboy top won't stick anymore so its not a great case
@@Paa375 Pretty sure you can get 2 free replacements every year under the warranty

What MagSafe charger he is using over there?
Monty is a fantastic beast

👍🤩💝Thanks for this review. Yay! 🎉Monty🎉
I ordered what looks to be a mous leather knockoff yesterday by Cyrill, look exactly the same and only $7.
And for the catalyst case, if you MagSafe charge your AirPods, this isn’t the case for you. You have to take the case off to get the charge
These cases are almost guaranteed to scratch AirPod’s glossy plastic charging case by rubbing debris into it.
I have a Grogu case for AirPod 1 for years now. Rugged and no bud hunting when it falls. Think I paid $15.
MMMMOOOOONNNTTTYYYYYY!!!

I wish Apple would make their own cases for the AirPods to match their iPhone cases
came for the reviews, stayed for the good boy
Andar>>>
Monty !! ❤
Montyyyyyyy🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉missed you🥹
I’ve just been raw dogging my airpods, they can take some serious abuse
Treat yourself to a chew...or Monty.😘
Pretty Pitakular not spectacular
Shirt is too small…letters running into your armpit, which is bunched up and too tight 😂
