As an American, I’ve lived here in Cambodia for 2 years on the “ER retirement visa” which is good for 1 year at a time and renewable forever from within the country. No need to ever leave if you don’t want to. It’s a multiple-entry visa and there are no requirements or even questions asked other than you age. 55 and older qualifies you 100%. Cost is $180 at immigration or $290 at any travel agency. English is spoken and the US dollar is used!

Plus ASEAN is also part of RCEP, by far the world's biggest trade block. RCEP has been actually ratified by 16 countries, and it comprises a total of almost 40% of the real global economy & population (RCEP is the China-based successor to the US-based TPP bloc that was aborted 6 years ago). When you buy meat, eggs, vegetables, and fruit you know it is farm-raised. The only negative about Cambodia is that if you teach English here you will not earn as much as you might if you lived in Vietnam, China, or Turkey but this is fine because it is in the middle of a great market for teaching as one can easily work in the mentioned countries and then come to Cambodia to relax and apply for visas when the contracts are finished. There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the cm2h program and gaining naturalised citizenship. There is no passport offered with this cm2h program. In the video he states that "after 5 years you are eligible for citizenship". This is incorrect, after 5 years you are eligible to APPLY for a passport. The fee for gaining a passport in cambodia is still a 245,000-300,000 usd donation to the government, whether you paid 100k for cm2h program or not.

I’m following the news about this program, but I don’t see the added value in it. It was already possible to get Cambodian citizenship by naturalization after living there legally for 5 years, as far as I know, so what is the difference? Getting EB visa extension for 5 years is no longer as easy as it was 10 years ago, but still it’s easier than paying 100k. There were rumours that the difference is about the requirement of learning the language, which applies in case of normal naturalisation. If that was the case, that would be the only added value, and personally I don’t think it’s worth paying 100k as learning Khmer is useful for getting around there anyway.

    • @boyar1978

How is it not easy? You simply go to a travel agent and give him 300USD and a week later you have a 12-month visa. This is how I avoid having to return to the USA when I want to get visas to go to China or Russia. Cambodia is 1000x more pleasant to live in than the USA, Canada, Australia, or any Western European country but less so than China , Vietnam or Russia. I love working in China and i also like the governments of China, Vietnam and Russia.i also like that if i become a citizen of these countries I can join their communist parties and work my way up the ranks to General Secretary if i so choose. Then I can go into the Security Council and shake my fist while banging my shoe on the table and tell the USA there will be no more sanctions on Iran and how we must crush the West.

Can you please do a video on what you would recommend the average American do if he were to hit the Mega millions jackpots 4 / one billion dollars. Where would we want to start? I'm not asking for specifics as to what you would invest in, but maybe what portion would you invest versus diversifying amongst bank accounts or or other options?

I have US and Filipino citizenship. Do you think there are any benefits that stand out? I know Philippines passport is quite limiting when it comes to visa free travel.

I’m a dual American and Filipino citizen also. In terms of travel, as a Filipino citizen you can easily travel to certain countries that may require American citizens a visa or in some cases prohibit Americans, such as Vietnam, Cuba, and Iran. In terms of property ownership, my Filipino citizenship allows me to own land in the Philippines.

Just how many Americans are moving overseas? I've talked to clients in jobs that I've had, and I've come across people who live mostly in Europe, Oceania, or South America. I look at statistics like the Census showing an 8 percent drop in the white population from 2010 to 2020. I don't think all of it is from people dying off. Then there is the FOX News story I saw about tens of thousands of Californians living in Portugal, and they didn't want them there. All of these things give the impression there is a flood of Americans leaving.

@@tommyd.7642 I am a US citizen. Never had a Vietnamese, Indian, or anything else. There are people of Indian background who are American and US citizens by birth. My heritage may be India, but I sure ain't Indian!!!
My wife is the naturalized US citizen...get a life!!!
I have never been harassed for being an American...the only place that harasses me for being American is India!!! My US passport says Illinois for place of birth!!
BTW...I never had an Indian passport. India prohibits dual citizenship.
For me, there is absolutely no value to have an Indian passport...no benefit.

I think Cambodia is going to likely become my second citizenship mainly because I have a Cambodian girlfriend and we are likely going to live her after we are married. I will likely work in China for at least 10 years and invest my savings into Russian Treasury Bonds which are at 9% now and then when I am ready to retire I will do so in Cambodia where the climate in warm and the girls are pretty.

Well done! If you know any any women in Thailand or Malaysia looking for a sincere marriage please let me know. Wishful thinking. Wondering how risky or feasible it would be for a foreigner to get involved in the cannabis industry in Thailand given the new laws. I am not trying to be a stoner etc. If I wanted that I could be doing that here in the U.S. I'm not trying to YOLO party. I sincerely value it for medical properties. Wondering about possible joint venture or smaller scale investment or small business idea. I image the more partnership with locals, the less possible animosity. Frankly I'm way more focused at the moment at being medically retired. However I see my health honestly improving and feel that they future could look different that how things have been going for the past several years. It VERY difficult giving my age and the fact that I don't have a huge lump sum to deposit into a lot of these countries. I wonder which countries would view my retirement pension as assent given that I have a permanent medical retirement (for all intents and purposes) no chance that change unless I become a high net earner again..even with that it might still remain depending on the circumstances.. anyways thanks 🙏. What happened to you TEA. Get some fair trade organic tea next time.
