Thanks, and t's only going to get better!! I just bought an actual SLO from 2003, and am currently having some mods done to it to make it as close to Joel's SLO as possible (the one that recorded Daylight Dies). I'll post a video eventually but I'm on tour right now.
Love the shoutout! 🙌🏼 I’ll hit you up for the settings once I download the 14 day trial of the plugin! Stoked to try this! Sounds identical to As Daylight Dies record! You know how to dial in a great modern metal guitar tone🤘🏼
You did amazing. I use to play to the “Set this world ablaze”. I would use my ps2 and remove one guitar at a time via the aux cables and I remember learning each guitar part. KsE is my favorite. We are gonna start recording some demos and I’m gonna go with this plug in or SIM I should say.
I actually haven’t checked out the Nolly plugin. There’s sooooo many plugins and for me it’s overwhelming so I keep most of my pro audio and guitar plugin stuff just to really good emulations of analog equipment. That’s how the Soldano caught my eye! But I understand that the archetype Nolly is widely regarded as the best heavy guitar plugin from Neural. I’m curious if the cab for this Soldano plugin is even a Soldano or if Nolly just used a traditional rectifier cab bahaha
In the dvd what did they do for the clean still the slo or a separate clean amp? Also pedals I know there is a 808 but at this time are they using the maxon compression pedal atleast adam?
Heard from Adam a while ago that he has a separate amp for cleans, with a delay pedal and compressor pedal on the clean side, but I don't know if that was the case on this particular performance
Hey dude. I just bought this plug-in; I also have the Brainworx EQ... I was wondering if you would be willing to share the full settings? I can take most from the video, but just some other bits I can't see. Would really appreciate it. Thanks mate. \m/
I unfortunately don’t have this session anymore or any of the raw video pieces so I cannot help with this, sorry. I also don’t use the stock IRs anymore since I made my own.
How do you get such clean notes? I just use my guitar plugged into an old Line 6 Spider and it picks up every time my hand slides around and searches for notes, not sure if it's my gain or tone or my playing just being shitty lol would a noise gate help?
a noise gate can help a little but if you're searching for notes it's probably the playing and also the amount of gain you're using. just keep practicing. "embrace the journey" as Jesse would say ;)
Lol thoroughly related to the comment about your channel being mainly KSE nerdery. What album do you like better - As Daylight Dies or The End of Heartache?
Really hard to say but I’m an As Daylight Dies guy. The only reason it probably wins is because that was the first album of theirs that I heard. I first heard them in 05 tho. There was a live version of fixation on a taste of chaos sample cd. Same version that is heard on the 2nd disc of the end of heartache deluxe edition. How about you???
@@snapascrew I heard As Daylight Dies before The End of Heartache but the latter quickly took over as favourite. It's got a lot to do with the Set This World Ablaze live DVD. I suppose ADD is a bit more polished but songs like A Bid Farewell, World Ablaze, and When Darkness Falls - at least for me - trump anything from ADD, but in retrospect it's silly to worry about which album is better because they're two of my favourite albums of ANY genre. Love Let The Bridges Burn, the titular track, and of course My Curse (would love to talk shop with you about playing all these songs) I remember back in '06 or '07 a friend who was (and still is) a big KSE fan asked me to learn The End of Heartache so I did, but the penny didn't really drop for years to come - not sure why. Could have been the fact that I was one of those death metal/blackened death metal elitists for years. How things have changed...
Yes sir, i seen that as well...gonna order 4 packs of each and see which i like, probably the lighter gauge honestly. Also i been using this soldano plugin, it sounds good.. @@snapascrew
Yessir. It’s an old SLO with All factory mods, originally made for George Lynch. It has a picture of Andre the giant on the front panel. Very custom. 1 of 1.
That "AAYOOHHHHHHGHHHHHH" Adam does in that live performance cracks me up.
LOL. Thank god he left our mothers out of it.
Probably the closest thing I've heard to that particular tone killer job man!

wow, this sounds pretty damn good for a sim. theyve come a long way since I last looked into this

I knew it, a hell tone of distortion, my ears are good.
2:24 God damn dude, that is the sound.
Sounds surprisingly close!
Congrats.
Thanks 🙏
it's a very close tone!
thanks.
Sick tone man. Love video ! Idk about you but for me this Soldano plugin sounds more like 5150 than Nolly plugin

duuuuuuude, you did such a great job... loved it
Thanks. Definitely went for the cranked mids type tone from their world ablaze dvd. Not a typical move for me but was fun. Cheers.
Dude this channel is golden mine!!! subscribed!!!
Not gonna lie, Howard sounds better singing Jesse's songs.
I agree both are great but Howard took this band to a new level IMO
I hate to pick sides but I’m a Howard guy too. Specifically Howard singing songs written between 2000-2006 lol.
Great tone indeed! But I didn’t see any info of the guitar and pickups you are using. It is a part of equasion, rught? 😊

@@petesorensenguitar ya man they’re both such great records it’s really so hard to put one atop the other.
KSE used tite fit 12-52s for as daylight dies right?
Not a clue but they or one of them were using 11-50 tite fits around that same era.

@@snapascrew thats interesting, did they quad track or double?
@@npaz24 double, only record the quad tracked was heartache and they swore to never do it again because of how time consuming it was.

Too much mids!
ahahah never
