  • Extras from my Joel Stroetzel replica build video. Thank you Joel and Chris Siska. We had a little video delay going so we kinda sound like we’re talking over eachother hehe whoops. 🤷‍♂️

Fanboy stuff per usual. Spoiler alert: daylight dies was a factory modded Soldano SLO-100 (the main rhythm tracks…)

ADD is my favorite guitar tone of all time. My favorite part is the bridge on for you where it’s just the one guitar panned center. I wonder if that was also the slo?

I used to service Joel's swimming pool and hot tub. He's a really cool guy and very friendly.

You're my guitar hero sir 🤣... thank you for taking time to edit and post this though in all seriousness! Again, everyone, this guy is answering all the questions we've been searching for years for!! Give this guy some love everyone, he's given us this gem out of the vaults, and he's recreated their tone successfully over and over again! Check out his "Killing with a Smile" tone. Parkway Drive is another band I've loved since the metalcore genesis. I've never heard a closer match on a recording!

As a Framus and KSE Fanboy, I love all your videos with those guys and that amp ❤
When it comes to cabinets, I tried alot of 4x12. Somehow, with a Dragon mk2 and a cheap Peavey JS 4x12, it was the KSE tone out of the box. I also had great unique sounds with a Mesa 2x12, loaded with a celestion RedBack and an old Celestion g12 50.
And, finally, if you ever get the chance to get your hands on a THC Speedstar 4x12 or EICH Amplification 4x12 (essentially the same company) go and get it. That one brings the amp to an absolutely another level 🤪
I had 5 Dragons over the years, my first one was a MK2 and that one blew all the others to the wall. Very happy to say that right now a MK1 is on its way to my home ❤❤❤

Little funfact: I sended my mk1 Dragon to an awesome amp-tech. Seems like there exist some kind of inbetween mk1/mk2 heads. My amp has build in some parts and tweaks the mk1 doesn't have, and there some things missing that are already in the mk2 😄

Yo! Thanks so much for doing this. I uploaded a video last night recreating the Daylight Dies tone (which is also a favourite tone of mine) with Neural SLO and this video helped a bunch

Also I just traded off a 90's Soldano Hotrod 100+ head with mercury magnets transformers. My Randall RM100HEAD nails the same tone, but does it better. So I traded that head off for a Revv Generator Mk3 P which sounds better for metal.

What ever happened to graham gilmore?

Bro you don't have to buy the real Soldano SLO heads to get the tone. Buy a Randall RM100 head or RM4 pre amp and send Jaded Faith mods as Randall MTS module to modify into a SLO 100 module. I have one and trust me, this pre amp module nails the Soldano tone to the T. And with all the gain, lows, mids, and high and crystal clear all the way through.

We’ll have to agree to disagree there!

@@snapascrewFrom my personal experience, I disagree 100% with you. It sounded way better then my Soldano Hotrod 100+ head from the 90's(Closest Soldano amp that is 2 channels to a SLO 100 2 channel head with slight differences). Which don't get me wrong it sounded good but doesn't have the gain or low end my Randall has, meaning without any pedals to help out the natural tone. But it wasn't as good as my Randall RM100 head with KT88'S and 6L6's with that modded Jaded Faith SLO module ran into a Vader 412 straight cabinet. That I plug straight into without a boost or tube screamer and it is some of the most massive, thick and crystal clear brutal tone I've ever heard in Drop C tuning. Go watch Reza Matrix clip of his Bogner modded SLO 100 head, my MTS module is like that tone with just plugging straight in and laying down riffs.

@@untoldguitarist I haven’t played that particular amp, but I’ve played a real SLO (pre boutique amp distribution buy out), a hot rod, an avenger, a SLO clone, and they all sound a little (some a lot) different but they all claim to have the SLO lead circuit. Maybe the Randall does come closer than the other Soldano’s but nothing I’ve ever played sounds exactly like an actual SLO. The SLO comes to life at about 3/10 on the master volume which is LOUD, none of the other amps did what that amp does (for me).
