- Comparing the plugin through a power amp and 4x12 to the real thing through the same cab and recording chain. My narration was recorded with an iPhone into a distressor and probably sounds like shit. YEEEHAWWWWW,
This was so well done! Surprisingly, there was a boxy frequency in the real amp tone somewhere in the lows/low mids that made me like tone of the plug in a lot more
Thanks. I must say in person the amp definitely sounded better and more real but it was close.
Really cool and very close! Great playing too!
When you bypass the cab block in AmpHub, it keeps the cabinet as the impedance curve for the models poweramp. If you change the cabinet to “disconnected” it removes the impedance curve from the poweramp (essentially giving you a “preamp out”). Might be worth a try when using it this way!
Thanks for sharing, I did not know this! I appreciate it! 🤘🏻
@@snapascrew No worries! It took me a while to learn that and I think it’s true on some of the other STL plugins too. If you are using IR’s with them, then make sure to leave a similar cab selected and bypass the entire block (like you did here), as it’ll sound wrong without the power amp interactions on. When using another poweramp, then it’s best to have no cab selected!
You can tell by the movement your hands are making in between then two. Think it’s mostly a learning curve with the software with stl. So close just ones closer and brighter with the strings , and that’s always the plug-in way. Good job on your findings and sound. If I was hard up for cash and found a deal on a 5150 vs plug-in still would go for the real thing. Thanks bruh !
Sounded great!
Thanks Brett
I like the part where you lied to us
Amp sounds a bit fuller but pretty dang close!
In person it was even more noticeable but ya I agree.
