This is so cool. I like the song at 7 minutes. Great composition. A bit like Andy Timmons ore just like Mr. Ben Coleman. Great comparison. I am a big fan of what you are doing. Keep on !

Thank you man, I composed it to get a tune with a lot of dissonances, so you can hear how the Pickups can handle complex voicings.

Well made comparison. I can hear many differences. The EMGs sound more clear and the Fishman got more warmth but their Singlecoilsound is more hollow and less artificial than the EMGs. I would like an EMG at the Bridge and a Fishman at the Neck :-)

Ok, but what hollowbody is that?? That guitar looks killer. Could you provide a link to that guitar?

Hi Oscar, to be honest. It was a quite cheap guitar, but the wooden basis was very good and I loved the way it looks. So I changed nearly everything. The Frets, the Bridge and of cause the pickups. It came to me in a absolutely not playable condition ( fretwork was horrible, bridge was crap ) but the shop offered me a good discount (because of the frets ), so I kept it and invested a lot of money. Now, I love it and it is absolutely professionally usable but I am not sure, if I could recommend it to you. Anyway, here is the link ( maybe, nowadays production is better) : www.thomann.de/de/harley_benton_cst_24hb_tol_tobacco_flame.htm
Have fun, man ! Cheers Ben

The 89s are more balanced and even, and have a more detailed and articulate top end, even on 85 humbucker mode...

That`s exactly what I think, too. The got more warmth as well. I was surprised, because the basswood body of the Ibanez isn't producing much treble for sure. Think EMGs are very underrated and judged as sterile and lifeless. Maybe their plastic look makes people think, they should sound like plastic.🤣 In a Les Paul the EMGs might pick up to much bass up to my taste, because they got a good amount of low end response as well. In a Les Paul I would choose the Fishman, for sure and the Fishman got 3 quite different Sounds in one pickup and are not bad sounding as well.

Please, turn the compressor off. It is the only thing that I hear in clean samples

Thank you for your comment. Yes of cause, without compression you would hear more the dynamic details , but in my opinion the compression helps to bring up all frequencies more equally ( it is a multiband spectra comp ) and shows the different characters of the pickups and their frequency preferences quite good. But you are right. Next time I will make some examples without and some with compression.

Right you are it is a bit to much compression. Nevertheless I can still hear a lot of differences. It helped me. I decided to buy me the Fishmans. They are great.
