    Great comparison, I really appreciate the way you switch between the pickups, the timing in the video! Super helpful!

    This is just what I needed. You perfectly compared them while controlling variables. Must’ve taken you forever to create this.
    I have a guitar with JBs in it but the advertisements got me lusting for something with the Fluence in it. To me the difference in tone isn’t enough to justify buying a new guitar. You saved me $900!
    If I was to get one pickup set it would be the Fluence because of the versatility.
    Only thing I would’ve like to see in the video is some clean tones. Other than that excellent work.

      Thanks Dan!!! I´m glad that it was helpful!!! And yes, it was hard to make this video. I had to set my room with the recording stuff set and the tools to swap the pickups and everything. It took my all day to do it 😄. I didn´t do cleans because normally you can hear subtle differences but not enough to choose if you prefer one over the other. I think the overdrive enhances those differences.

    Good job, good effort. Thanks dude. I'm just hearing the Fishman for the first time just now. I wouldn't be using them in single coil mode.

      Thanks man, I appreciate it. Fishmans are great. The single coil mode is never going to sound like a strat but it's nice to have it for more "acoustic" sounds.

    Amazing video!!! It has been a lot of work presenting the PU's like that!!! Cudos therefore!!! Bottom line: The Fishmans really very, very close but also bring all the positive sides of an active PU. For me right now a no brainer!!!

      Thanks!!! Yeah when I decided to buy the fishmans I wanted to have both vintage and modern passive humbuckers and they pretty much nailed it. I was afraid that maybe they would sound and feel like EMGs but thank God they don't 🤣

    Kinda sounds like the Fishman bridge is an active 59/JB two-in-one.

    I was contemplating a guitar with fishman classic or a jb/jazz set I feel overall the the extra sounds of the fishman won't be worth the extra cost over the JB so I'll just save some money go JB/Jazz set

      @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017  Год назад

      That's fine. I still enjoy Fishmans. I installed the JB/59 on my other les paul and for some reason i'm not completely convinced that JB in the bridge sounds like I want it to, I might change it. The 59 in the neck it is actually perfect

      @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 what did you feel what was missing in the jb? I like bright tones so it works perfectly for me

    • @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017
      @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017  Год назад

      @alvarg I love pickups with enough brightness and clarity, and the JB has both, but it has something in the upper mids that doesn't sound exactly like I want, at least in my les paul. In guitars like Charvels I think it works better in my opinion

  • @arnolddealiii4259

    Cool demo! My takeaway is they all sound really good. The Fishman seem more versatile because of the ability to switch from vintage paf to hot Roddenberry. One thing I would ask is how much noise do the passive pickups put out over the active fishman pivkups. I play through a digital processor direct into a console most of the time and noise unfortunately for me is the difference between being turned up and being buried in the mix.

    • @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017
      @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017  4 года назад +2

      Thanks man. Yes actually that is the reason I decided to get them and I'm happy with them. Regarding to the noise I think they pretty much the same. I will double check and if I see much difference I'll let you know ok

    Hello my friend, I am also Italian haha...anyway it is always hard to compare pups. but i use the single coil mode alot..now, i also have classic telecaster, strats, p90s SG...trust me when I say I can make the Fishmans sound EXACTLY like any of those guitars I already Posted some time ago but I want folks to know just how good these really are, you really can not find a better pickup this is the pinnacle.

    • @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017
      @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017  3 года назад +1

      Well I'm actually Venezuelan but Italians are just like family to us. Yeah man I also love the single coil sounds and normally humbuckers when are splitted they sound thin. The single coil mode in the fishmans is one the best single coil sounds I have gotten out of a humbucker for sure!! Totally agree, Fishman rules!!!

      @@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 if you like these you might not like the Moderns. They are very dull and muddy. I hate them haha. I bought my LTD EC 1000 that came with moderns so I could take them out and put the Open Core Classics in. It's so nice now

    • @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017
      @alverduratonejunkiealveram1017  3 года назад +1

      @@playandsinger I remember I tried the moderns on an Ibanez in a guitar store and liked them. I have not compared them back to back but I guess everything depends on the type of music, the tuning and the amp as well. I normally don't play super heavy stuff and when I do the hot rodded mode do it perfect for me

      @@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 I DID use good studio monitors. That's why i'm so surprised, especially the Fluence Modern setting sounded much alike the JB.

      @@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist oh yeah they do sound very similar. Actually I was expecting that. I got them because I wanted to have both type of sounds and I'm very happy that they can deliver both. Fishmans in hot rodded mode sound very similar to JB and in vintage mode sound very similar to Alnico II pros. Therefore you need good headphones or studio monitors to be able to hear the tiny differences
