I used to read through the first monster manual and fiend folio a ton as a kid, and every time you use a photo from one of them that I haven't seen in 20 years, I get the warmest fuzziest feeling.
@@AJPickett I have found three different coloring books full ov fantasy D&D style art, with adventurers & creatures such as dragons, griffons, giants, dryad, merfolk, and all ov the basic races & classes being depicted. Plus a good deal ov magic casting going on. I got it so I could use the first page as my picture for my dwarf ranger. Be nice if someone specifically made D&D/Pathfinder/Rifts/Shadowrun-themed coloring books for adults.
This seems like the perfect minion for an evil dragon. I can see a red or black dragon finding a quasit's cruel and violent pranks on "lesser creatures" utterly hilarious. Anyway, great video on one of my personal favorite critters.
Meanwhile the Quasit identifies the kobolds most likely to be able to learn magic and slips them instructions, whispers hints as to how to become a tribal leader, incites the tribe to go on increasingly bloodthirsty raids on nearby peaceful villages in order to feed the dragon's ever growing horde, while at the same time, sending out rumours far and wide, luring adventurers into the lair so it can watch them die.
@@AJPickett I would think that imps are more likely to influence Kobolds, because Kobolds tend towards Lawful Evil, due to pack mentality and working together, rather than individually.
Alignment has nothing to do with it. The fact the quasit serves a dragon, which kobolds revere as living gods, has everything to do with it. That said an imp may be more capable of understanding what kobolds want. Imps are more likely to be ambitious enough to learn such things.
You've done it again AJ! Another of my favorite D&D creatures, analyzed and described in proper style! I have been endorse your videos as much as possible! And will continue to do so! I hope that you had a nice visit to your family home!
Odd Request for lore video could we have one about wat happens when you die, where the soul can go and what intially happens when you arrive at the different optional afterlives?
Similar request, a video on petitioners could be pretty interesting. Might fit with the other videos going over the planes, just focusing specifically on the people who died and wound up there, and what goes on once they get there.
I have always been quite partial to spell-caster types that use familiars, and pets thru different methods, and so all of these creatures that are quite good to use with such a role have been things I liked. Been loving playing Xenoblade two right now an how their own version of such a role in the form of the blade-cores an driver concept, which my player groups have been pushing me to see if I can convert over for a sci fi/fantasy campaign. Always found using these guys as a form of hook for adventures, and even giving many different avenues for my adventures to go down. Since when I do a adventure I have several different paths that the group can take, and even more that I am sure I had not thought of at the time I make them. Give me so much room to even replay the same adventure, or even having another dm use with the same group making it still quite different.
Yeah, great adventure hooks.. any time the player characters can clearly see a Quasit or Imp doing something, you can bet it is doing so in plain sight on purpose, otherwise they spend most of the time invisible or shape shifted, the perfect little spies and saboteurs, when the characters can see them, they are already being manipulated.
I just thought of an idea for an adventure. Thought, one of these guys loose in a city would be horrible. Then thought why not make it 13? So here is the plot, a wizard was attempting to summon a celestial of some sort, only for the Quasit to do something which inverts the summoning, and ends up summoning 12 Quasits. Since a Celestial (Treated with respect,) does not need a warding circle, there was no need to have one. The little bastards escape kill the wizard in his shock, and raid his tower. The Leader has levels in Alchemist (5 levels) or rogue. Although using levels in sorcerer with a focus on summoning magic might be best. He has control of the other Quasits (due to how he fouled up the summoning), and has them ransack the wizards tower stealing scrolls, potions, spellbooks, etc etc. And the Big item that is discovered missing is a Scroll of Gate. So the Party discovered the Missing Gate Scroll, and they have Quasit pack in the city who have stolen a lot of the wizard's belongings, including his notes on extending the duration of summoned creatures.

I was wondering about these guys actually. Now that I know how hellbent on destruction they are, I think I'm going to give our warlock a bit more space... Also, do you plan on doing Nagas or Coatls in the future?
I'm curious do you think it plausible that a lich would have a quasit in it's service? I only ask cause such a relationship would no doubt be interesting to say the least lolxd!...
you have any thoughts about Quasit's ability to share its magic resistance ability with its master (mm63)? I have heard that some deem this a bit overpowered.
question what would the creatures at 0.14 be, the devilish looking fairy sized things? i loved the ending of this. that demonic goblin theme. XD but wouldn't the constant dangerous pranking get in the way after awhile, even if they weren't pranking you and no one finds out that your familiar is the evil pankster, it still kind of has a debacing effect that will hamper your efforts in the long term, if your staying in the same place?
Kinda the point. They want people to aggravate the summoner so the summoner does evil things. So having an aura of misfortune follow their "master" around is in their interests. Especially because the common folk would just as assume the caster was the source in one way or another.
I play a solo 2nd ed game with my friend. He has an evil necromancer and has a quasit familiar. He needed a higher level Find Familiar spell that only necromancers could use and then had to roll lucky. They transfer a lot of those powers (even their regeneration) to their master. He has already killed and eaten some good two shoes that was travelling with them LOL! He spends a lot of time trying to convince him telepathically to do random evil acts and cause problems. He convinced the necromancer to essentially beat up and old priest in one small town and it was the huge wrestling match with the quasit body slamming off a chair onto the priest who the necromancer had in a leg twist. LOL! And then they promptly left town once he was unconscious LOL! I came here to get a little bit of inspiration, because we're playing again on Monday. He's headed towards a bigger city, so I will have lots of opportunity to get his quasit into some mischief ^,_,^ I think putting a bucket of coals over the door to the inn might be a good one to use. Nyx is the quasits name and he has no compunctions about stealing and murdering to frame other people. In the last town, he was invisible and would say insults to people so they thought it was someone else and a huge bar brawl broke out. The necromancer, Ezra, was just sitting back laughing while the quasit ran around the room invisible and cackling in glee, getting more and more people involved. LOL!
@@AJPickett I have a group of adventurers that I never used for another past group. They were good tho, so it was supposed to be like they would show up and go after the same things. I never used them yet tho. It might be cool to do an evil version. She did some awful things that would mean she won't ever be allowed back, in real life and not just in the game. I was going to make her be going after the same spellbook he wanted to steal and have to deal with her half-vampire ass... LOL! That could tie into the whole rival NPC thing. She was going after the same thing when she last played like 2 years ago.
@@AJPickett Maybe the mage he is going after, Nuzar of the Seven Curses, does have an imp.... That could work out. I think you just gave me a good idea to have two evil people to be working against each other. He is NE and his familiar is pulling him towards CE, because he is a quasit.... So, maybe Nuzar's familiar is LE and so they hate each other for that reason... Not on good vs evil, but law vs. chaos... I think you are onto something. Then, his familiar would be granting similar powers to his master too... I think you just solved my dilemma and found a cool storyline! ^~^ Thank you!
