    Just came across your channel and it was nice to see someone else clean them without taking off the membrane never seem that brand before. I buy aunt Bessie’s when I can fine them $15.99 5lbs bag the very clean. They looked yummy.🙂

      Some people will soak the chitlins in vinegar overnight to help cut the smell down.

      I have never seen that done before; so, I honestly am not sure that I would do that.

      Yes, you can cook them in a crock pot, but there is a subtle difference. Sort of like microwave popcorn vs. stovetop. One is ok, but the other is fabulous! Stovetop chitlins are way better!

    Thank you! For this video. I never seen my grandma Mom and Aunts. Take out the nembrain. Only rhe trash and fat. If you take out the membrane . It won't have a texture or flavor.

    You take the fat and trash off. Don't take the second skin or membranes off I only use Aunt Bessie's. You are doing a great job.

    Still too much fat and impurities once you added seasoning and onions…ect …. I boil mine 3times for 1 1/2 hr pour water off after each boil rinse chittlins and pot. The 4th time add bell pepper, garlic onion potatoes, seasoning…ect…

      Also…depending on the brand that you have purchased, you may/may not have to boil them 3+ times.

      @@cookingwithdj5961 chittlins is a dish that must be cooked and prepared low and simmered! No matter the brand, it’s a must my family boil 3 times. Before the last boil with seasoning and garlic..ect comes out no grease and extra tender!
