Fun Fact about the voices!
Barrel is played by the same dude who voiced Dipper Pines, while Young Andrias is voiced by Hunter's VA
He never watched Owl House he doesn’t who Hunter is

This episode does go more into the King Andrias lore. It’s just so interesting and dark, I just can’t help but to know more. It’s like learning information about Gerald Robotnik, you just can’t help but get sucked in.
Yes, Leif is a distant ancestor of the Plantar family and that explains why Andrias tried to kill Sprig even after the Box was returned to him - this precious pink skin definitely reminded him of something (or someone). Also, it's pretty funny that the series' main villain is basically Marcy trying to pretend to be Darth Vader🙂
Barrel is voiced by Jason Ritter the voice of Dipper from Gravity Falls! At long last, the whole gang is here we has Mr. Ponds as Grunkle Stan, Frog Soos, Bella the Bellhop voiced by Mabel and now Dipper!
Ok to explain some things
1. The optomization at the end of the episode was a memory wipe the amphibia text on the screen translated to something sbout erasing memories
2. Lief is a plantar but she isnt spring snd polly's mom

Did you notice the voice actors of the three main characters of Gravity Falls have appeared in this show?
Not to mention, the young Andrias is voiced by Zeno Robinson (who is the voice of Hunter on the Owl House)
Actually his father was part of the core before he passes out, like their ancestors and greatest minds, all join the core and Andrias maybe was supposed to, but he would've to be a father first so the cycle could continue or something

Something very sad is that barrels final order from his best friend was to defend villages from monsters and he died doing it probably hoping if he did a good job his friend would be happy again
This is honestly just the previous Calamity Trio but different personalities (Marcy (Andrias), Anne (Leif) and Sasha (Barrel). 😅
As a fun fact, Barrel’s also voiced by the same VA as Dipper Pines! 😂
Also, Leif is the Plantar’s great-great (who knows how many “greats”) grandmother.
Wow this got real since we know deeper into why Andria’s hates the idea of friendship

I’m glad we got more in depth with Andrias’s past this time around. Interesting that his friends, Leaf and Barrel are the other two rep’s of the Amphibia tribes(frogs and toads). Also, I like how there are a lot of connections to things that were previously established, like the war hammer and the dance that Sprig taught Anne.

This episode made me cry the first time I saw it.
I honestly thought she was sprigs mom too.. but then i watched the flash back and she’s probably a grandmother somewhere BUT ITS HARD TO SAY SHES NOT HIS MOM 😭
Remember, Aldrich said the Core was made up by Amphibia's greatest minds, including Andrais' ancestors. So we have to assume the past kings of Amphibia are among them. That's what he meant when he said he would be joining the core.
This episode changes everything.
Keep in mind Tuna, that the flashback takes place around 1000 years back in time. Leif would not be able to be Sprig's mom.

My guess is that by the end of the series, Andrias will redeem himself
I always find it interesting how Leif only woke up to the horrors of colonialism, when she realized it was hurting Amphibia itself.
