since it wasn't obvious, the yellow slide at around 5:00 was a looping, which is the reason for the extra safety features

Yeah, now I know what it looks like from the inside. 'Cause when I went down there all the water in my face made me close my eyes. 😅

The first one uses air to push you through the tube. The second is a stand up water slide. And we have slides where you stand on a drop plate and fall down some even have loops in them.

It´s not a loop, technical speaking, more a flated helix in a sharp angle. But it´s a helluva ride.

Loop is for real. I get these one time at Plettenberg! But it was so fast that I didn't feel it. The green one I feel more stronger, because you down free fall. And you stay in the box and wait till the floor opens in less a second....

Oh yeah there are some pretty crazy rollercoasters too.
The (for me personally) scariest ride I've ever been on was the "Schwur des Kärnan" in the "Hansapark" near Hamburg.
Here's what the official Hansapark website says:
In the 2015 season, HANSA-PARK made roller coaster history with the Family Thrill Ride “The Oath of KÄRNAN”: With a 67 m deep first drop coming out of a 79 m high tower, this hyper coaster reaches a speed on the 1,235 m long route of up to 127 km/h. The reverse freefall from a height of more than 60 m in the tower of the KÄRNAN is unique worldwide. The worldwide unique backwards freefall in the dark of the coaster has become an XXL experience since 2017. Even longer, even more intense, even more KÄRNAN! The fall speed was more than doubled from around 5 m/s to around 11 m/s.

What do you do when only a few pensioners are slowly swimming their laps in the old pool?
What do you do if you want to set up an attraction in a somewhat remote place?
Then we build an attractive swimming pool with water slides, wellness area and sauna. Admission is a bit more expensive, but then everyone can stay there all day and take advantage of the offer. Then another restaurant and everything you need. You don't even have to travel to a warm country.

Nice video!!!! I usually enjoy waterslides!!!! 😃I like the absolutelly black ones with techno music and sometimes stroposcope light effects, where you do not know where you will go next.
But NEVER use it with a Donut!!! I bumped my head once, when the slide went to the right, but I thought it would go to the left.
(But I did not sue anyone, thats why we still have so many different slides, I think) It is safer and faster to jump into it and then lay down on your back.
I am happy they invented the stand-up-slide..FINALLY!! We allways used the normal slides that way and it was not allowed and not safe, of course.
The "free-fall" slides I do not like. I did not see a very high one in the video. In Spain I tried one and I lost my bra. It took the bra about 3 minutes to go down the slide and it was no fun at all to wait for it (without bra).
Once again I tried another "free-fall" slide. Big mistake!
The boys complained, because the water hurt them (somewhere) and I had to seek for a toilett very very urgently after using that slide. I do not recomemd that ones!
But all the others are fun!

Most of those slides are pretty common across Europe. One type my local waterpark have that is missing here is a projection slide. That is one that can select a scenario and it will be projected with sound on the inside so it looks like a tropical waterfall or a space ride. They have like 16 diffeent scenarios.
That slide also have block sections that is the only slide I seen that have that. So three people can go down it at the same time.
Also next to it there is a very wide slide that is a bit slower that multiple people can go down simulations and even over take each other. It swallows like 10 people at the time. For sure make the cue like run a bit faster.

I wouldn't be a fan of the standing slide. Do you have these trap door slides in the US and would you go on one? It seems to have become quite popular in Europe in recent years, some need the free fall in order to gain speed for a loop. Not sure whether I would go on that. The thrill of not knowing when the trap door below you opens and you drop some metres down into the pipe. Ad you, a lot of slides start and end indoors, but often the bit in between comes out to the outside of the buildings

We have a waterslide with a real looping in the "Calypso" water park in Saarbrücken. It's fucking insane, you stand on a trapdoor and fall straight down to get enough momentum to be able to pass the highest point of the loop.

I took a couple of my grandsons there (I live nearby) but couldn,t watch. I spent half a day in the sauna, which is more relaxing than observing the grandkids trying to kill themselves.

Serious words, because that's what the Americans are known for here.: Stop suing everything and everyone just because you have a little ouch. That's a huge reason why we have slides like this in Germany. You want to slide that? stick to the rules Minor injuries are considered an occupational hazard and are not actionable.

You have to look videos from Swiss waterparks like the Alpamare or the AquaPark. There are slides like looping, very deep free falls, "tornados", high speed slides and the longest water slide in Europe.
